The Sydney International Boat Show will host a landmark event for admirers of the Princess Yachts range of luxury boats with the Australian launch of the new V-Class flagship, the Princess V85-S.

Arriving along with a flotilla of her sister ships, including the V45, the V52, the V62 and the 78 Motor Yacht, it will be the first time that any of these magnificent boats have graced Sydney Harbour. Sydney International Boat Show represents the opportunity for Princess Yachts to show the Sydney boating public the momentous change in the brands evolution.

The Princess V85-S sets new standards in performance with increased range, reduced weight and superior technology. It is driven by a choice of powerful twin engines, coupled to a pair of five bladed propellers which can generate a top speed well over 30 knots.

The Princess V85-S has a power assisted hydraulic steering system with 300kgf bow thrusters, to make mooring a breeze.

The spacious air-conditioned saloon deck, with timber floor and carpet inlay, spans the full 20ft 7in beam. It boasts two comfy sofas, LCD television, surround sound system, cocktail bar and extendable dining table seating eight in comfort.

The owners stateroom takes advantage of the entire width of the vessel, with a large comfortable double bed situated amidships for stability. Awash with natural light from four vertical port-lights on either side, it is luxuriously appointed with LCD TV, DVD, surround sound system, air conditioning, en-suite with separate shower and even a built in safe.

The forward stateroom also has a large double bed, entertainment centre and en-suite, as well as a hatch to the foredeck. The port and starboard guest cabins have two single beds with en-suites.

The lower helm features twin leather adjustable seats, full instrumentation and an electrically operated sunroof. The self draining aft cockpit features a discreet side door to the two self contained crew cabins and the soundproofed engine room.

Joining the V85-S will be the equally impressive Princess 78 Motor Yacht.

An elegant, contemporary profile and characteristic deep-V hull combine in the new 78 Motor Yacht with the highest standards of construction, integrated design solutions and class-leading dynamic ability. Sleek lines and a highly resolved underwater section ensure she embodies the very latest in Princess design and technology, delivering thoroughbred performance and an assured, stable ride for effortlessly fast and efficient cruising.

This, the most impressive range of Princess Yachts ever to be displayed in Sydney, will be available for inspection alongside the Princess Yachts hospitality vessel “The Pontoon”, exclusively available to Princess owners and invited guests. Alan Paterson and the team from Princess Yachts Australia will be providing a relaxed and inviting environment to view this stunning range of the world’s finest boats, while guests can enjoy freshly brewed barista coffee, light refreshments and fine food prepared by the on-site bespoke chef.

UK builder’s Australian distributor reloocates to Double Bay

Princess Yachts NSW has moved to a new head office in Sydney, Austalia, relocating to the heart of Double Bay.

The official Australian distributor for the UK boatbuilder says it is planning several initiatives in the coming months to support the arrival of new models.

In the first quarter of 2021, Princess Yachts Australia will welcome several new models, including the V40, V55, V65, F55 and F70.

“Princess is renowned for its superior build quality and commitment to heritage,” says Princess NSW co-director Sean O’Doherty. “The company is extremely service orientated, and for us and our clients that means accessibility of parts, communication and customisation.”

LVMH and the collaboration with Pininfarina has been pivotal in the evolution of Princess, influencing design and engineering and of course, the injection of capital which have all enhanced the product.

For the past two years, yachting marketer Greg Haines has been the national distributor for Princess Yachts Australia.

“Greg has focused on raising the bar in terms of customer service, support and owner experience,” explains O’Doherty. “The Princess product is exceptional. We are now focusing on the culture and providing first-class service to our owners.”

The future is said to be looking radiant for the brand, globally. Figures released in January 2021 show the Princess order book is full until the end of 2022, at a value of £600m.

“Covid restrictions were a challenge in 2020 but we managed to host the Princess owners’ rendezvous at Hayman Island in September,” O’Doherty adds.

“This year, we’re aiming to further grow the new-build part of the business. We have three in the pipeline that we’re excited about. We’re also planning a rendezvous in Sydney Harbour and Pittwater sometime this year.

“We’re focused on supporting existing clients and working closely with Greg on owner events, including bringing clients to Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in May. At this stage, we’re hoping to have a F70 2020 model and a new V60 in time for the show.”
