Visiting the Boat Show you can see up close dinghies , fishing boats as well as beautiful imposing catamarans, and ultra-luxury yachts but also boats with eco-friendly electric motors.

Below I will briefly tell you about the different types of boats present at the Show and you can find the exhibitor list by clicking here.

Genoa Boat Show exhibitor list 2022

Depending on the size, there are many types of yachts.

There is the day sailing ones that are the shortest; then we have the weekend yachts , the cruising yachts, and the luxury yachts .

Megayachts are huge luxury ships : they are very long boats that start from a minimum of 30 meters and can exceed 100 meters and are equipped with all the comforts you could wish for.

They are so large that we can find swimming pools , cinema areas and all the services and comforts required by those who have such a boat designed.

This type of yacht is not designed to be sold. It is more frequent that they are designed and customized together with the owner.

As you may have guessed, no expense is spared here, because buyers only want the best!

The security and audio-visual systems are also state of the art and this is a crucial detail because these are yachts designed for long sea voyages and the owners must have all the comforts possible. Just as if they were in one of their incredible villas.

Here we always find many rooms, luxury suites , and many bathrooms ; some also have party rooms and golf courses, equipped with biodegradable balls .

The catamaran, on the other hand, is a boat that falls under the multihull section.

These are boats with double hulls that are connected by a structure called a bridge .

Catamarans are typically used to quickly transport people from one place to another along the coast.

Compared to a monohull, half the power of the engine or sail is required to increase speed.

In addition, the catamaran is more stable , easier to maneuver, and very spacious.

It is one of the most chartered boats in the Mediterranean and seas such as the Caribbean .

The reason is that having two hulls , the risk of them capsizing at sea is low, compared to a yacht and it is also faster. These are the advantages it has over a more luxurious boat.

Sailing boats

These boats start from a length of six meters up to thirty meters .

The larger ones are not called sailboats but ships .

They have always been the most fascinating type of boat, making even those who do not know much about boating and navigation fall in love with them.

Note to Genoa Boatshow exhibitors

On the official website of the Genoa International yacht fairs, there is a regulation that is addressed to all potential exhibitors in which it is explained in detail everything there is to know about the setting up.

It is important to know that exhibitors wishing to participate in the event must man their stand for the duration of the event .

For set-up purposes, pass-carrying exhibitors may bring in vans to help with the loading and unloading of stand material and necessary supplies.

You have to go up by the Aquarium dock and you will arrive at the Fair Marina .

If you plan to arrive by car, you can take the A12 motorway and take the Genova Nervi or Genova Est exit and follow the signs that will show you how to get to the Genova Nautical Fair.

If, on the other hand, you are on the A10 or A26, you ‘d better exit at Genova Ovest .

For those arriving by plane , you should know that Genoa Cristoforo Colombo International Airport is about 8 kilometers away from the location where the exhibition takes place but, fortunately, there are shuttles connecting the airport to Genoa Piazza Principe (where the station is located).

Where to park to go to the Genoa Boat Show?

The city of Genoa, like every year, will make every effort to ensure that those arriving by car can park in the vicinity of the event.

The nearest car park is in Piazzale Kennedy , just opposite the entrance. The flat rate is 12€ per day .

Alternatively, you can park your car in all the other areas surrounding the Genoa Boat Show (Foce, Carignano, and Albaro districts) always at a flat rate of €12.

  • Park Dinegro in via Bruno Buozzi (reachable from the motorway exit of Genova Ovest)
  • Park Molo Archetti (reachable from the motorway exit of Genova Pegli)
  • Park of Genova Est (free for the first 24 hours, then 5€ per day)

Where to sleep near the Genoa Boat Show?

Which are the closest hotels or B&Bs to the sailing show?

If you are from out of town, you need to look for accommodation in Genoa.

Ideally, you should find a B&B or hotel near the Fair , but there are also solutions a bit further away that have many advantages.

If you mainly want to consider the accommodation closest to the place where the Genoa Boat Show will be held , you should know that this will take place in the Foce area ; therefore, you will necessarily have to look for a hotel in that part of the city.

Here is a list of the best solutions to sleep in Genoa during the Fair.

Elegant Studio Genoa : this apartment is a 2-minute walk from the Fair and offers Wi-fi and free parking (Via Odoardo Beccari, Genoa – 150 meters from the Fair) .

B&B Home Grifondoro : it is an elegant structure located a few steps from the Fair of Genoa. It offers free parking and free wi-fi (Corso Aurelio Saffi 7/7 Genoa – 700 m from the Fair) .

Hotel Melià Genova : this hotel is another interesting solution for those who come to Genoa with the whole family because it has family rooms; it is a high-level hotel (Via Corsica 4, Genoa – 1.6 km from the Fair) .

B&B Hotel Genova city center : this accommodation is very close to the center but not so close to the Salone. The advantage is that you can walk without the stress of looking for parking (Corso Podestà, Genova – 1.7 km from the Boat Show) .

B&B Bruxelles Margherita : if you are looking for a more elegant place to sleep then this is for you. But it is not near the Salone (Corso Podestà, Genoa – 1.7 km from the Salone) .

Where to eat near the Genoa yacht show 2024?

If you are in Genoa for the Boat Show , you can take the opportunity to taste the typical recipes of this area .

Genoa is a city where there are many tasty dishes to try .

The specialties of this city are many: the stoccafisso , the focaccia , the farinata for the vegetarians, don’t forget the pesto alla genovese .

There is a food court at the fairgrounds, but here’s a list of the nicest places to go with your family or friends.

Osteria Della Foce : this place is charming. It is run by young people and is very elegant . You can taste both land and sea specialties . It is located near the international boat trade fair, so if you spend the whole day walking along the pavilions and you feel tired, you can easily reach it and relax at one of the tables tasting the delicacies of Genoese cuisine . The prices are also average: for a full meal, you’ll pay 26/30€ per person.

Alla Lunga : it’s a newborn restaurant located in a little hidden alley and it’s the ideal place for those who want to have dinner or lunch surrounded by a relaxing and at the same time elegant atmosphere. I recommend ordering fish dishes . It will certainly be genuine and tasty. From the smell of the dishes that will arrive at your table, you will immediately notice their freshness. Here, too, you’ll spend an average of €25 per person .

7 Sensi : If, on the other hand, you have more pretentious tastes and want to taste some local but fusion cuisine , this is the place for you. The 7 senses is a small restaurant born recently but has already made a name for itself for its ability to mix flavors of the Liguria region with trends from Africa and other exotic areas. And you won’t spend much here either.

Le Rune : for all those who like more refined dishes , nouvelle cuisine, and gourmet cuisine, have a look at Le Rune (they are also on the “Michelin” guide for their refined cuisine).

Santa Monica Restaurant: a restaurant located in Corso Italia (ideal for those who arrive at the Fair in pairs and want to spend a romantic evening). From the table in the restaurant, you can admire a fantastic view of the sea of the city . The specialties here are fish dishes and since we are in Genoa we can not miss them. Here the average for a full meal is a bit higher. We are talking about 40€ per person . But considering that it is a kitchen of seafood dishes with fresh catch , are acceptable prices.

History of the Genoa International Boat Show

genoa boat exhibition

The Fiera Nautica Genova was born in the sixties . Initially, it was a small event that covered a much smaller area.

Over the years, success has multiplied to the point that it has grown from thirty thousand square feet to two hundred thousand .

In the beginning, the exhibition was held in Milan and was called Salone Internazionale della Nautica and was a branch of the “ Fiera Campionaria “.

In 1962, the second year, it was moved to Genoa and changed its name to Salone Nautico.

The history of the Nautico di Genova is fascinating and full of vitality that becomes the main element with which the stages of its evolution are climbed and that has made it become the reference point of the European , if not world nautical.

The date of birth, to be precise, was 27 January 1962 . In an area of 30,000 square meters, there were almost 600 exhibitors, both foreign and Italian . The ticket to enter the exhibition cost 250 lire . It was a niche event where personalities such as Olivetti, and Giovanni Agnelli but also architects, admirals, ship owners, and English lords were present.

In 1964 the Fiera di Genova became part of the FBSO and ministers also began to take an interest in the exhibition.

At that time the financial situation was not the best.

Here began the first debates on the various techniques of sailing , “motorboating”, and soon technical conferences and reviews on everything that revolved around boating, became fixed appointments with the presence of hundreds of journalists.

Gradually, the exhibition became a prestigious event that no shipyard could miss.

genoa yacht shows

It was one of the most important showcases that allowed showing their boats to visitors from all over the world .

In 1985 8 million people arrived and the tourist associations proposed funding to fix the marinas where the exhibition took place.

Today, the Genoa Boat Show can be defined as a unique event worldwide . There are no exhibitions of the same magnitude, which every year have the same number of visitors and exhibitors.

All these reasons, which have brought the Genoa Boat Show to its current level, make us say, without fear of contradiction, that the Genoa International Boat Show is unique in the world.

During the pandemic period which especially affected the year 2020 and 2021 also Fiera del Mare Genova had to adapt to the national regulations to prevent the spread of Covid contagions.

Despite the uncertain and worrying air, this event has managed to confirm itself as an unmissable event for all boat enthusiasts .

There were many visitors, and the event proved to be a symbol of an Italy that wants to react to a critical historical and social moment without precedent.

History of Pavilion B of the Genoa Boat Show area

genua yacht show

Pavilion B is nicknamed by all as the “ Blue Pavilion ” from the color of its roof which was supposed to be inspired by the color of the sea or the Jean Nouvel Pavilion , from the name of its creator who designed it to replace the previous one which dated back to 1962 and was now too old for the exhibition.

It was inaugurated in 2009 together with the Palasport building.

The original 1962 structure had two sections.

One had two galleries and was exposed to the seaside; while the second, newer part was huge (more than 10 thousand square meters).

When work began, the 1960s pavilion was torn down but in 2008 there was a serious collapse of the entire metal structure which was 50 meters long and 20 meters high.

Fortunately, there were no injuries but work was temporarily suspended.

The very expensive design called for a rectangular blue mirror roof . But a “painted sheet metal” one was put on and never replaced.

This pavilion was used for the funerals of the victims of the Morandi Bridge collapse and also as an area for vaccinations during the pandemic .

The structure opened in 2008 has 35 thousand square meters divided into three floors .

The central floor, facing the sea, is occupied by offices, while the other two levels are dedicated to the display of boats.

Inside there are two huge exhibition halls that have a ceiling of completely blue mirrors, reminiscent of the color of the sea .

Levante Waterfront Project: the new Boat Show starting in 2024

genua yacht show

In 2017, the architect Renzo Piano gave the city of Genoa a project to renew the area of the Nautical Exhibition : it is the Waterfront di Levante plan .

A new “dock” will be created that will be connected to an urban park by bike paths.

The road from Corso Italia to Porta Siberia will be continued, there will be new residential areas, the former Nira will be demolished and the new Pilot Tower will be built.

This project will give the structure a new , more modern, and practical style .

The project was commissioned by Genoa City Council and will transform Pavilion B into an area surrounded by water channels.

Residences will be created between the two buildings and the Palasport will be completely modernized.

Pavilion B will be connected to the ground via three bridges, only one of which will be fixed. The other two will be removable.

The movable structural parts will be functional to ensure boats can cross the canal.

There will also be bicycle and pedestrian paths connecting the marine area to the green areas in the vicinity. At the same time, they are reclaiming the whole area from hydrocarbons.

Three interesting facts about Genoa International Boat Show

  • The longest boat ever to be displayed at the International Boat Show is the 5-meter Megasailer Maltese Falcon .
  • Until 2021 other historic Pavilions were demolished to make room for more modern structures. I’m talking about Pavilion C and D . The old Marina was also a boat show area that was used all year round as a small harbor. Finally, we remember Pavilion S. This is the “Palasport” of Genoa built in the ‘60s on three floors that hosted sporting events. Pavilion C, Pavilion D. Until 2021 there was also Pavilion D, but it was demolished. Marina. This is the exhibition area that has operated throughout the rest of the year as a small harbor since 1988. It too was demolished last year and replaced by the Waterfront Marina, which measures fifteen thousand square meters and includes both sports and accommodation areas.
  • Two Presidents of the Republic have visited the Genoa International Boat Exhibition: Cossiga in the 1980s informally and Mattarella in 2018 officially.

Conclusions

The Boat Show in Genoa is not only visited by naval entrepreneurs or potential buyers of luxury boats.

It is an event in grand style that becomes an opportunity to learn more about navigation and all the innovative technologies that are needed to live life on a boat safely and comfortably.

The event is always accompanied by other performances such as fashion shows and musical events in a scenic setting that will make you live an unforgettable experience.

People from all over the world come to this event every year because it is managed and organized uniquely and professionally.

This is one of those events worth attending, at least once in a lifetime!

Genoa International Boat Show

The Genoa International Boat Show, or Salone Nautico, will be celebrating its 63rd anniversary for its run from September 21-26. The event is much older than either the Cannes Yachting Festival or Monaco Yacht Show, and at one point, was the premier event in Europe. It slowly ceded its show-king status to the other two venues, largely because they had more glamorous settings.

But Genoa, the seafaring city where Christopher Columbus was born, plans to reclaim its standing as a top-tier event. The location on the Genoa waterfront is ideal for a boat show, and this year, it will be showing off a new infrastructure that has been three years in the making.

The location has new canals around the Blue Pavilion, its showcase exhibition center, and the addition of more than 150 berths. The boat show will also have more than 1,000 boats on display, from 6.5-foot inflatables to 131-foot superyachts. Next year, the renovations will be complete, turning the once-dilapidated docklands into a beautiful luxury center, with high-end residences and a gorgeous waterfront.

Sanlorenzo SX100

genua yacht show

Having also made its French premiere at Cannes last week, Sanlorenzo’s SX100 is a full custom yacht that is the latest model in the brand’s crossover range. Signature fold-down terraces and a large open transom create both a private sundeck and social beach club. The space can also hold many water toys, including a 19-foot tender. Sea terraces behind the two top decks offer private areas for relaxing. A main salon with floor-to-ceiling windows is one of the boat’s most impressive features. The five guest staterooms include an owner’s suite, a VIP, and three double cabins.

Lomac GranTurismo 14.0X

genua yacht show

The GranTurismo 14.0X will make many conventional yacht owners consider a RIB. Lomac’s new 46-foot flagship is a beautiful day boat, with an open bow, protected helm area, rear dinette, and aft-facing sunpads that overlook the triple outboards at the stern—though the boat at Genoa will have twin 450 hp Yamaha XTOs. The boat has a cabin with a bed and separate head and shower for owners who may want to weekend. Lomac also focused on quality touches like teak accents, walnut furniture, and even a hand-sewn leather cover on the steering wheel.

Riva 82 Diva

genua yacht show

This newest member of the Riva line, the Diva was launched last summer at Riva’s yacht-building facility in La Spezia. Its flybridge, which offers great social possibilities, is the big differentiator. The 430-square-foot upper deck includes a lounge area with dinette and bar in the center, sunbathing area, and another lounge aft. Down below, there’s a large beach club with foldout sides; it’s connected to a raised cockpit with sofas. Like most Rivas, performance is critical: The Diva has a top speed of 29 knots with the standard MAN-V-12 1800 diesels. With the upgraded MAN V-12 1900s, it reaches 31 knots while cruising at 27.

genua yacht show

This new cruiser boasts a cockpit that is larger than most yachts in its class. But the interior is equally sizable, with the option of three or four staterooms and two or three en suites. The three-stateroom version, which will be at the show, includes a large main cabin and two sizable guest cabins, each with its own en suite. Dufour says the 41 is the only sailboat in its class with two forward cabins, each with double beds, with plenty of soundproofing between to ensure privacy.

Azimut Verve 48

genua yacht show

The new Verve 48 is one of two models in Azimut’s outboard-powered line that originally targeted the U.S. market, but are now becoming popular in Europe. The Verve 42, launched last year, is the smaller sistership. The 48 is actually a redesign of the 47, which was first launched in 2000 . But this new version has undergone a refresh with a larger, more open stern, including a swim platform with excellent space around the three 600 hp Mercury outboards. Other features like the large open bow with lounge and table, two-cabin interior, and see-through panel amidships are true to this Verve’s orginal design, making this an exceptional weekender—especially considering it reaches 50 knots.

Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air

genua yacht show

This gold-hued boat is a refresh of the Austrian builder’s 1212 Ghost, with a lightweight, carbon-fiber T-Top above the helm or, if the owner prefers, a retractable bimini top. Either way, this will be the coolest day boat at Genoa, supplemented by a side-mounted galley, with fridge and cooker, and plentiful seating in both the bow and rear of the boat. Besides good looking, the Ghost is fast: Sterndrive power (either MerCruiser or Volvo-Penta) will deliver a top end of over 40 knots. At a friendly cruise speed, it will have a range of 300 miles.

Ecoracer OD 30

genua yacht show

The world’s first one-design sailboat built with recyclable materials and rComposites technology shows that sustainability can indeed be part and parcel of new-boat design. The 30-foot Matteo Polli design builds on the research of Northern Light Composites and follows the launch of the smaller Ecoracer 25 last year. Beyond its green-build credentials, this production boat was designed to be a fun, barebones sailing vessel with a large open cockpit. A second hull is now on the production line.

Princess S72

genua yacht show

This newest Princess made its global debut last January at the Düsseldorf boat show , and has since been seen at the Cannes show and the U.K.’s Southampton event. This week, the S72 is making its Italian debut. With the “S” standing for Sportbridge, this racy-looking, 72-foot coupe, with four staterooms and a compact flybridge, fits nicely between the builder’s S66 and S78 luxury cruisers. Twin MAN V12 diesels—standard 1,650 hp or optional 1,800s—deliver up to a 41 mph top end.

Bluegame BGM75

genua yacht show

The BGM75, which debuted at Cannes this year , is a fresh take on a power catamaran design, employing a reduced beam to keep its twin hulls closer together. That gives it more of a monohull feel, but with the advantages of a big cat. That includes enhanced fuel efficiency and better stability. But it also let the design team create a full-beam main suite on a single deck—unique among large power cats. The spacious beach club, large salon, and connected cockpits also complete the fresh, new take on multihull design.

Solaris Power 52 Open

genua yacht show

Known for its sailboats, Solaris also makes a stylish line of powerboats. The Power 52 Open, with its vertical bow, curved hull sides and carbon-fiber hardtop, is a contemporary-looking model that displays the best of Italian style. The cockpit has three configurations, with either a large C-shaped lounge, two opposing seats, and a single sofa. Below-decks, the owner can opt for a two- or three-stateroom layout, including a crew cabin. The boat delivers a top speed of 24 or 30 knots, depending on power selection of either Volvo IPS 650 or IPS 800 drives.

Grand Soleil 72LC

genua yacht show

Cantiere del Pardo’s new iteration of its 72-footer ends with LC, standing for Long Cruise. It follows on a performance model launched last year. Standout features on this global cruiser include a deckhouse with a large window (offering 270-degree views), along with expanded outdoor seating and two large sundecks aft. The outdoor dinette has also been enhanced. Nauta Design’s interior includes luxe materials and colors that defy the usual humdrum sailing yacht layouts. The forward owner’s cabin and crew and guest cabins are spacious, while owners have the option of forward or aft galley layouts.

Greenline 58 FLY

genua yacht show

Greenline is one of the more interesting builders in Europe, offering diesel, hybrid diesel-electric or full electric power on all its models. Its new 58Fly also has top-drawer exterior features, including a flexible cockpit layout and generous flybridge. The interior has an optional two- or three-stateroom configuration, with a roomy salon and aft galley that overlooks the cockpit. Depending on choice of propulsion, the boat’s top speeds range from 29 knots with the diesels to 12 with the electric-only power configuration.

Astondoa Ax8

genua yacht show

The Ax8 is described by Astondoa as a “social cruiser,” with space for 18 guests. The Spanish builder has a knack for coming up with innovative designs, and this new 80-foot, wide-bodied motoryacht is no exception. The unusually wide 20-foot beam allows for large passageways between the cockpit and beach club, while the extra volume provides space for two spacious sundecks—one on the main deck and the other on the flybridge. The aft cockpit has a dining and social area with a view of the beach club, but with a glass divider for inclement weather. The Ax8 has four cabins, including the full-beam main and two VIPs aft, with a guest cabin forward. All are en suite. The vessel also has two crew cabins. The yacht is powered by twin Volvo Penta 1350s.

Genoa Boat Show aims to be world leading

Saverio cecchi, chairman of confindustria nautica, outlines the vision for the genoa boat show to lead the events calendar from 2024….

genua yacht show

Following a record annual production value of over 7 billion euros, the Italian boating industry is gearing up for the Genoa Boat Show 2023, scheduled from September 21 to 26.  Speaking at a press conference before the return, representatives from the show and across the region outlined the vision.

"Italy continues to lead the world in the boating sector. We are the pioneers, and no one can challenge our position," declared Saverio Cecchi, the Chairman of Confindustria Nautica. "We excel in superyachts, inflatable units over ten meters, accessories, and components. Now, our goal is to dominate in sector events as well. By 2024, we will achieve this."

In 2023, more than a thousand boats will be on display, ranging up to 40 meters in size. There will be 1,043 brands showcased, marking a 45% year-on-year increase, with 143 additional berths available in the new Waterfront canals and 184 new products on display, reflecting a 9.5% year-on-year increase.

These are the key figures for the sixty-third edition of the Genoa Boat Show, which unveils new areas on the blue island of the Waterfront di Levante. This area was constructed from scratch within the exhibition spaces, inspired by the vision of the renowned Genoese architect, Renzo Piano.

Another notable change from the previous edition is the area behind the Jean Nouvel Pavilion, which now provides direct access to the new quay reserved entirely for the exhibition.

"In 1967, a pivotal moment occurred when the first national category association, Ucina, now Confindustria Nautica, took responsibility for organizing the boat show. We were the pioneers; Dusseldorf followed in 1969, Cannes in 1977, and Monaco in 1979. However, we were the originals, the first."

"Our ambitions continue to grow. Our aim for our show is to gain recognition as the world's leading boat show, and we are on track," added Mr. Cecchi. "We strive to host the world's most prominent boat show because boating is Italy's fastest-growing sector."

The Ligurian Governor, Giovanni Toti, agreed, saying, "The 2023 Genoa Boat Show promises a plethora of innovations for the boating world. This industry is of paramount importance to our region. From grand yachts to small vessels, from production to refitting, and through Italy's most prestigious shipyards, Liguria is emerging as a powerhouse in this domain."

Motoryachts account for 52.3% of the display, RIBS 33.4%, sailing yachts 12%, and multihulls for 2.3%. The day cruiser sector is witnessing growth, with its representation increasing from 14.5% to 21.8%.

Prominent among the displayed vessels are Sanlorenzo's 30.50m SX100 and the Bluegame BGM75, the Group's inaugural multihull designed by Philippe Briand, showcasing the new Twin Hull design approach. Azimut introduces the S7, featuring a fuel-efficient configuration, alongside the Magellano 60. Next Yacht Group will exhibit the AB100 and Opera Prima Mare will showcase its OPM 37 Hybrid, equipped with solar panels and electric motors.

Endorsing the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show are the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE), the Liguria Region, the Genoa City Council, and the Genoa Chamber of Commerce.

Azimut, Ferretti Group and Sanlorenzo are among leading builders at the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show.

Italian and international yacht builders have again thrown their support behind the six-day Genoa International Boat Show (September 21-26), which takes place in the city’s revamped Eastern Waterfront area designed by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, as the coastal zone continues to undergo an extensive upgrade.

Organisers have again said they expect about 1,000 boats on display, with an estimated quarter of that total in the water. Last year’s event attracted 104,000 visitors over the six days and city officials are confident of another successful edition, boosted by Genoa’s hosting of The Ocean Race finale over the summer.

Marco Bucci, Mayor of Genoa, said: “The city returns once again as the world’s yachting capital as it hosts the Genoa International Boat Show, an event that brings our city to the forefront on the global stage. The show is a historic event for yachting enthusiasts and a point of reference for the very best of Italian production, with a focus on a driving industry at the heart of the country’s economy.

“The event will star at the centre of one of the greatest infrastructural revolutions of our city: the construction of the new Eastern Waterfront, an area we’re gradually renovating and which demonstrates how our city is constantly looking to the future.”

Azimut’s provisional line-up includes the Magellano 60 and Fly 72 that both debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Italian builder’s other models comprise the Atlantis 45 and Atlantis 51 cruisers, Fly 53 and Fly 68 flybridge models, and S7 (70ft) and S8 (81ft) sportbridge yachts.

Ferretti Group is showing Riva’s 82’ Diva, following its global debut at Cannes, along with a Dolceriva, Wally’s wallytender43X, Pershing’s high-performance 7X, Ferretti Yachts’ new 580 and 860 flybridge motor yachts, and a Custom Line Navetta 30, one of the show’s biggest yachts.

Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group’s CEO, said: “After the Private Preview in Monaco and the Cannes Yachting Festival, coming to Genoa and our splendid Italian showcase is always a special occasion. We’re in excellent shape after some hectic months focused on the Milan stock exchange listing and some major investments and we strongly believe in the development potential of our domestic market.

“To mark the occasion, we have seven amazing yachts at the Genoa International Boat Show, including some important new products. The 82’ Diva is a flybridge model that revolutionises onboard areas while preserving the Riva brand’s timeless appeal, while the Navetta 30 is Custom Line’s living work of art, featuring clean, powerful and seamless lines.”

Other superyachts in Genoa include the Amer 950, F100 and 120, Next Yacht Group’s AB 100, Manda’s S09 (89ft) and an 80ft Versilcraft, while Fabiani is showing its 77’, 100’ and 101’ models.

Sanlorenzo will showcase the SX100 following its debut at Cannes, along with sister models SX76 and SX88. The brand’s other models comprise the SL78, SL90A and SL106A planing yachts, SD90 and SD96 semi-displacement models, and SP110 smart performance coupe.

Sister brand Bluegame is showing its BGM75 multihull motor yacht, following its world premiere at Cannes, along with the BGX73, BGX63, BG74 (renamed from BGX70, BGX60 and BG72 respectively), BG54 and BG42. Absolute is showing its Navetta 52, 64 and 68, while Cranchi’s 10-strong display includes its flagship Settantotto 78 Fly.

Evo is staging the Italian debut of the 18m R+, while day boat specialists include sister brands Invictus and Capoforte, Pardo and VanDutch, Solaris Power, Fiart and Apreamare.

Italia Yachts is showing its new 43 Veloce, the brand’s first motor yacht, while Italian-owned Nautor Swan is staging the Italy debut of its OverShadow, which is produced in Italy along with the Shadow, the Finnish brand’s first motor yacht.

Sweden’s Nimbus Group will have a display featuring multiple brands, Saxdor will show its new flagship 400 GTO, while fellow Finnish brand Axopar and Austria’s Frauscher are also among exhibitors.

Italian luxury RIB manufacturers include Sacs with its Rebel 47 and 50 G, and Strider 11 and 15, Tecnorib with all four of its Pirelli-branded boats (30, 35, 42, 50), Lomac with five models, while Nuova Jolly was listed as having over 20 boats. Other RIB builders include Williams and Highfield.

From the UK, Princess models include the V40, V55, F45, F55, new S72 and Y85, while fellow British builder Sunseeker, represented by Sunseeker Italy, will stage the Genoa debuts of the Superhawk 55 and 75 Sport Yacht unveiled earlier this year, along with the 65 Sport Yacht and Manhattan 68.

Andrea Frabetti, Sunseeker’s CEO, said: “Sunseeker looks forward to another year at Genoa International Boat Show with an exceptional team in-market to support our clients in Italy.

Genoa International Boat Show, Azimut, Ferretti Group, Sanlorenzo

“As one of our long-standing dealers in the Mediterranean, Sunseeker Italy offers the very best in sales expertise and service. We’re thrilled to be represented by this exceptional team at Italy’s largest boat show.”

Catamaran builders include Lagoon, showing its 46 and 51 sailing cats, while sister brand Excess is displaying its 11 and 14. Fountaine Pajot’s line-up includes the Isla 40, Elba 45 and Samana 59, as well as its MY4.S powercat, while Leopard shows its new 40 Powercat.

The show has a strong sailing zone and Italy’s Grand Soleil could have eight sailing monohulls from the 40 to new 72 Long Cruise. Solaris Yachts is showing five models from the 40 to 64 RS, while the line-up includes a CNB 78, produced by the former Groupe Beneteau brand now owned by Solaris.

Swan will stage the Italy debut of its Swan 48MKII and show its Swan 55, while other exhibitors include Italia Yachts. French brands include Beneteau, which is displaying the new Oceanis 37.1 following its world premiere at Cannes along with the First 44, Oceanis 46.1 and Oceanis Yacht 54.

Sister brand Jeanneau is showcasing its new Jeanneau Yachts 55 – which debuted at Boot in January – along with its flagship Jeanneau Yachts 65 and three Sun Odyssey models: 380, 410 and 440. Hanse and Bavaria will each display several models, while fellow German builder Y Yachts will show its 72ft, all-carbon Y7.

Genoa International Boat Show, Azimut, Ferretti Group, Sanlorenzo

On the evening of September 22, the show hosts the fourth Design Innovation Award, which features 10 categories across sailing and motor boats, superyachts, multihulls, RIBs and boating equipment, as well as three special prizes and up to two honorary mentions.

Liguria, the coastal region stretching from the French border to the west and La Spezia to the east, is among the leading areas in the production of yachts and superyachts in Italy, which builds about half of the world’s 24m-plus yachts according to regional officials.

Giovanni Toti, President of the Liguria Region, said: “Genoa and Liguria are proud to host the 63 rd Genoa International Boat Show. The event finds its natural location in our region, given Liguria’s

inseparable bond not only with the sea but also with the yachting sector and, more generally, with the marine economy, the true pillar on which the development and growth of this territory rests.

“This year’s Genoa International Boat Show will see over 1,000 boats on display at the Fiera di Genova (‘Genoa Fair’). It’s a symbolic and iconic location, which is increasingly connected to the city and is changing its appearance thanks to the magnificent Eastern Waterfront project.

“All show participants will be able to admire the new navigable canals that have brought the waters of the Mediterranean even closer to the city, making the unbreakable bond that ties Liguria to the sea, a key element of its identity, even closer.”

Just as synonymous with Liguria and Genoa are sectors like yachting, shipbuilding, tourist marinas, and many other sectors at the heart of the blue economy. We can already the fruits of our labours, of the hard work begun years ago to unite hospitality, industry, tourism, and the great urban redevelopment work of the Foce designed by Renzo Piano. By Nina Done   23 June 2023

The Worldwide Yachting Association has announced the MYBA Charter Show is to move back to Genoa, Italy for its 34th Edition next year.

The show, which has been hosted in Barcelona for the last 5 years, will temporarily return to its original location at the historic Marina Molo Vecchio in Genoa for 2024. Under a temporary one-year agreement, the Italian port will serve as an interim solution until a decision can be reached with regard to the show’s future location.

Marina Molo Vecchio, Genoa

Annually attracting more than 2,000 industry professionals, brokers and influencers, the MYBA Charter Show is a mainstay fixture in the yachting calendar, offering a prime opportunity to get an up-close encounter with some of the most iconic luxury charter yachts  on the market.

Organized by MYBA, the show is a shining example of the association’s dedication to setting, promoting and upholding high standards across all realms of the superyacht industry.

Ignacio Erroz, CEO of Marina Port Vell Barcelona, confirmed that it had “been a pleasure to host the MYBA Charter Show, for five editions, in our facilities,” before adding the show had also helped to reinforce Barcelona as a superyacht destination, as well as boost the local economy and create greater opportunities for the industry as a whole.

The two marinas are working closely with each other to ensure a smooth transition for all parties involved.

Dates for the MYBA Charter Show 2024 have yet to be announced. If you're interested in learning more about yachts in Barcelona or want to attend the event, speak to your preferred yacht charter broker today for more details.
