Baglietto: Classical, aluminium and military. Welcome to the Gavio Era.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter celebrating its 160th anniversary last year, Baglietto is approaching t he new season of international boat shows with two important new yachts, bearing witness to the  boat builder’s current soundness and great vitality. Indeed, Baglietto will be taking part in the  Yachting Festival in Cannes and the Monaco Yacht Show with the “OnlyOne”, the Shipyard’s latest 46 m displacement yacht, recently launched in La Spezia, and “Pachamama”, the 43m FAST, as world  première, which will inaugurate the new range of aluminium planing yachts in the Gavio Era.

Both vessels have been designed by Francesco Paszkowski , who took care of both their exterior  lines and interiors, the latter in cooperation with architect Margherita Casprini. Naval engineering  was developed by Baglietto’s Technical Department.

46 m Only One Baglietto (3)

“OnlyOne”, a 46 m displacement yacht in steel and aluminium, which completes the range  presented last year with the Mr T, is characterised by classical lines reflecting the taste of the  Owner, who has actively contributed to the yacht’s décor, working in close cooperation with the  design team. Fine materials have been used for the interiors, which feature different types of wood  and hand-made diamond mirrors, combined with the retro style of the furniture and fabrics that  blend neutral colour shades, ochre, and opaque gold.

46 m Only One Baglietto (1)

Equipped with two 3512B Caterpillar engines, the OnlyOne can reach a maximum speed of  approximately 17 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, ensuring a range of approximately 4,500  miles.

43 m Pachamama (1)

Spacious volumes characterise “Pachamama”, an aluminium 43m FAST yacht that marks  Baglietto’s new era following its acquisition by the Gavio Group and inaugurates the range of new  Fast crafts designed by Mr Paszkowski. While preserving the sleek and aggressive lines that have  always been a distinctive feature of Baglietto planing crafts, this project distinguishes itself for a new  style. The leitmotiv across the entire yacht are brightness and a focus on conviviality: from the large  skylights in the ceiling panel in the entrance on the main deck to the dining room, which – thanks to  a mobile partition – can be connected to the galley and the dinette, creating one single open  space ensuring a wonderful convivial atmosphere.

43 m Pachamama (3)

The night area is entirely located on the lower deck, where the aft full-beam master cabin stands  out for its wide spaces and large glazing, ensuring an impressive brightness at all times. The fore  outdoor area is extremely innovative: conceived as a living area, it includes a huge sunbathing  area offering a magnificent view and, at the extreme bow, a heated Jacuzzi. The aft cockpit has  been fitted with a modern system of canopies allowing to close the entire area, thereby ensuring  the utmost privacy.

A soft and stylish atmosphere is guaranteed by the natural teak and the lining and panelling,  characterised by a skilful combination of different materials in a chessboard pattern. Last- generation technologies and solutions can also be found in the wheelhouse and the engine room.

43 m Pachamama (4)

Innovative materials have been used in particular for the latter, where 2 MTU 16V4000 M93L engines are installed, capable of pushing the yacht to a cruising speed of 28 knots.

Besides this 43 m yacht, by the end of this year Baglietto will also launch another 46 m Fast. The  planing range will be completed by an entry-level model, 38 metres in length. All yachts in  Baglietto’s steel and aluminium displacement line share the same family feeling, stylistic features,  and distinctive elements: all hulls in this line can boast a long history of tested reliability and  excellence in terms of seaworthiness and seakeeping quality. Entirely designed by Francesco  Paszkowski Design, the displacement range includes a new 43m, a 48m, and a 55m, whose  construction was recently started, plus the projects for a 58m and a 62m.

MV 13, Lap-1

These two lines, which represent Baglietto’s core business, are sharing the spotlight with the MV range  – a modern reinterpretation of historical underwater assault vehicles – and the introduction of  the MV19, the ‘elder sister’ of the MV13, whose first hull, the LAP-1, was recently delivered to its  renowned Owner, Lapo Elkann.

The Italian newspaper La Repubblica has reported in its edition published this morning the intention of Gavio Group to create one only yachting hub under the brand Baglietto . The operation consists in combining the synergies and efforts of the facilities based in Carrara and La Spezia. As a consequence CCN, in terms of production, will be incorporated in Baglietto. The yard has confirmed all the terms reported in the article.

The Gavio family is studying the reorganization of its activities in the yachting business, including the merge of CCN in Baglietto, which will be soonbecome one only brand. This is not the only operation in the plan: Gavio Group has also announced the intention to bring to the Italian construction sites part of the finishing works of the Bertram Yachts production, iconic American brand, also in the Gavio’s portfolio. As a result, they will be able to intensify the Made in Italy production, opening at the same time a representative office in Europe of the Tampa-based company.

The entire plan is scheduled to be completed within the year and is mainly targeted to maxime all the synergies of the yards in La Spezia and Carrara, cutting facility costs but preserving the entire workforce . The idea is to focus the production on the Baglietto brand, symbol of the Made in Italy history, tradition and yachting culture; CCN will contribute to the success of this operation bringing a dowry of other skills such as low environmental impact engines ( Vanadis is the only Made in Italy motor boat to have received the “hybrid power” certification  by Lloyds Register, being able to cruise at zero impact).

The new Baglietto will be specialised in the construction of yachts from 30 to 70 meters, in steel / aluminium and fiberglass and will be organized in two production sites: La Spezia and Carrara. Both facilities have been recently renovated and widened so to occupy a total covered area of 18,000 sqm + other 30,000 as external area .

According to the new plan, in Carrara – where they actually concentrate the CCN production – they will bring the construction of the new hulls , while the La Spezia yard – now Baglietto HQs – will be entirely dedicated to the outfitting stage and ordinary and extraordinary maintenace works. Currently at the La Spezia-based yard, Baglietto is completing its largest yacht ever built since 2012: sold to an American owner, the yacht measures 55 meters in length with 900 GT.

In terms of workforce – between La Spezia and Carrara – the group directly occupies 80 people , for a total of 500 if local subcontractors and supply are taken into account.

More specifically, as to the plan for Bertram is concerned, leader in the pleasure boats and sport fishing yachts, the new division will be opened with the aim of increasing the number of sales in Europe. Production will remain in the U.S., in Florida, concentrated in the new Tampa-based facility, with the possiblity for European clients to have their boat outfitted in Italy, so to also reduce the impact of custom duties imposed by the U.S..

Established in 1854, Cantiere Baglietto Spa specialises in the construction of new planing aluminium yachts between 35-50m in length, and steel and aluminium displacement superyachts over 40m.

Baglietto’s shipbuilding activities also include professional refit and repair services, as well as the construction of military vessels under the Baglietto Navy brand. This latter initiative breathes new life into the brand’s long-standing and successful tradition in the naval sector with a range of fast patrol vessels.

In 2012, the shipyard entered a new era when it was acquired by the Gavio Group, a leading industrial conglomerate active in a wide range of synergistic sectors, ranging from toll motorway concessions and civil engineering to logistics, transportation and information technology. The Group also owns the CCN and Bertram yacht brands.

In 2017,   Baglietto announced new US headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the goal of promoting both brands in the Americas.

Baglietto Yachts

Custom superyacht shipyard Baglietto, based in La Spezia, Italy, draws from a rich heritage of Italian craftsmanship and innovation.

History of Baglietto Yachts

In 1854, Pietro Baglietto founded a shipwright company in Varazze, Italy, that has borne his name ever since. By the late 1880s, Baglietto had established itself as a popular builder of regatta-winning racing sailboats. One of the yard’s most unusual commissions was for an elegant transport boat for Pope Leo XIII. The elegant 1988 barge was powered by six oarsmen. With the turn of the century, Baglietto added motorboats to its offerings, setting two important records. In 1906, the yard launched Giuseppina, at 22.6 metres the largest combustion engine-powered cruising yacht ever built in Italy, and, around time, prototyped the world’s first hydrofoil craft.

Baglietto, led by Bernardo Baglietto from 1910 to 1951, continued to build diverse and innovative vessels throughout the 20th century. Its reputation for an ability to deliver fast boats exploded with its delivery of fast patrol and anti-submarine vessels during World War I. Along with racing boats, the yard delivered pleasure yachts for illustrious clientele such as the King Alfonso of Spain, Guglielmo Marconi and Giacomo Puccini, who christened his steam yacht Cio-Cio-San. In the post-World War II years, the shipyard launched several popular series, including its innovative M Class flybridge cruising yachts. Now led by Pietro Jr, Baglietto shifted from wood to aluminium construction in the late 1970s and began moving up into the world of superyachts. Always pushing technology, in 1986 the yard launched 26 metre Chato , which reached an astounding 62.50 knots with waterjet propulsion. In the 1980s the yard worked with young designers who have now become legends such as Gianni Zuccon, Alberto Mercati and Aldo Chiccero. Built for an American client, Mercati’s 36 metre Adler opened the yard to the US market. Powered by twin diesels powering steerable water jets and a Textron Lycoming turbine powering a fixed centerline booster, Adler reached a top speed of 36 knots.

The Gavio Group, a major Italian industrial corporation that also owns Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN), acquired Baglietto in 2012. In 2015, the Gavio Group added Bertram to its holdings. In 2020 the company announced new top management with CEO Diego Michele Diprato brought over from the CCN yard and Fabio Ermetto returning in the role of CCO. New models and a focus on hybrid diesel electric propulsion were also introduced.

Notable Baglietto Superyachts

Perhaps one of the most well-known early Baglietto superyachts was Chiccero’s 33 metre Maffy Blue (now Christo He ) , launched in 1991. This boat proved so popular it became a series for the yard.

While not a superyacht, the yard delivered a custom 29m open boat named Opus (now Oceanis ) in 1994 to lines by Francesco Paszkowski . This collaboration continues with Paszkowski being the yard’s go-to designer in the opening decades of the 21st century. In 2006, Baglietto launched Blue Scorpion , a 53-metre full displacement superyacht with a unique “zen” interior design by Paszkowski. On the semi-displacement side, the shipyard delivered the 44-metre, 30-knot Monokini in 2013. Monokini features an exterior design by Paszkowski and a contemporary interior by Alberto Mancini . The company also built RC (2004, now Ability ) , for Roberto Cavalli and Freedom (2017) launched at CCN – both designed by Tomasso Spadolini .

In 2015 Baglietto delivered a highly customized 40-knot planning 13.8 metre sport boat based on a patrol boat hull for Fiat heir Lapo Elkann. Called Lap 1, it is the first of Baglietto’s MV 13 series. In 2017 Baglietto delivered the first of a new Fast series, a Fast 46 metre named Lucky Me . Another new model series debuted in 2017 with the T-48 Andiamo designed by Paszkowski, which was a finalist for a Boat International Design & Innovation Award for 2018. The second T-48, Silver Fox , was delivered in 2018. In 2019, the yard set a new benchmark with a 55 metre named Severin*s , the largest of the builder’s T (for traditional) line. Highly customized, the yacht features three family staterooms on main deck. The yacht received the World Yachts Trophy at the Cannes boat show for Most Advanced Yacht the same year. In 2020 the yard delivered a 40 metre Fast named Panam and Club M , a 39.75m displacement motor yacht to a Horacio Bozzo design, which was a finalist in the 2021 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. This was followed by 54.6m C in 2021, also with full custom lines by Bozzo.

Intorno a noi, legno, pelli, rifiniture in acciaio, tinte chiare.

I diversi sistemi possono convivere”. Vale a dire l’endotermico, l’elettrico e pure l’idrogeno.

E qui entra in gioco Officina Baglietto.

The Top 10 EuroLeague salaries of 2020-21

' src=

Aris Barkas

baglietto yacht gavio

Nikola Mirotic remains the highest-paid player in Europe, followed by Shane Larkin

By Aris Barkas/ [email protected]

It has become a yearly tradition for Eurohoops to present the Top EuroLeague salaries. The list contains very few new names with Shane Larkin and Nikola Milutinov being the big winners during the 2020 summer of uncertainty.

However, it has to be noted in the coronavirus era once more it proved to be very hard to cross-check the exact numbers, the different taxation around Europe creates one more issue that’s not easy to be resolved between net and gross numbers, plus, as usual, those numbers are not official and clubs neither confirm nor deny them.

Once more it has to be noted that the reported numbers are net US dollars – while many deals are signed in Euros – plus there are some big corrections compared to last season , especially in the case of Walter Tavares’ contract with Real Madrid , which will be analyzed case by case in the following text.

The bottom line for the total financial situation in next season’s EuroLeague is that the top players lost little to none of their income. The middle class gets the biggest pressure and it’s not easy to get one million dollar deals as it used to be, but on the other hand, the low-tier contracts remain pretty much the same.

EuroLeague salaries and budgets remain as a whole at the top of the food chain of European basketball, even if there are cases in which clubs like Panathinaikos , Zalgiris Kaunas, Bayern Munich, and Baskonia can’t spend the money they used to.

1. Νikola Mirotic, FC Barcelona $3,8M

baglietto yacht gavio

Mirotic remains the highest-paid player of European basketball and there’s a detailed analysis from last summer about his contract . With that being said, it remains unknown how much money Mirotic lost due to the cancelation of the EuroLeague season from his 2019-20 salary.

However, despite our initial report about a total $5,4 M yearly salary, after newer information provided by the club, a $3,8 M net salary is much more accurate, since the taxation in the second year of Mirotic’s contract is 44%. So, even marginally, he remains on top of the list according to the general European consensus. Also, Alex Abrines is removed from the Top10 list, since his net salary is much less than the two million line.

– Alexey Shved, Khimki Moscow Region $2,5 M

His salary is much more modest compared to the four million of his previous contract, but still, he is one of the most well-paid players in Europe during the COVID era. He signed for three more years with Khimki and it has to be noted that despite the official denials the only other team which had a strong interest for him with Zenit St. Petersburg.

MOREMAN Restaurant at Avrora Yacht Club

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

There is varied menu: raw bar with good sea-urchins, hot and cold starters, main dishes and desserts. Good cocktails and wine card. There is a big terrace. This club is located near the water (it’s obvious:) ), but the view is a partly industrial -... there is construction on the opposite bank and this ruins the view. This restaurant is spacious and it suits for different events. More
