Castillo Tours operates its own boats, vehicles, and staff. They specialize in corporate groups.

The Catamaran Spread Eagle has been providing tours from Fajardo for decades.

The difference factor with Spread Eagle is that they have a larger variety of lunch options.

The Katarina Catamaran sails on the west coast of Rincon.

The boat is a 32-foot catamaran that can accommodate 17 guests. They include rum punch, lunch, refreshments, and snorkeling.

The Katarina Catamaran is moored in Rincon. You will need to board a small watercraft from the Balneario of Rincon, which transports you to the bigger boat.

This tour might be challenging for people staying in the San Juan metro area. It’s recommendable to stay on the west coast so that you can arrive on time.

"Great value! Beautiful day on the ocean with 2 stops - the first one more beach-oriented and a chance to practice snorkeling, the second at Tortuga Reef for in-depth snorkeling. Welcome aboard The Salty Dog where you can experience and enjoy Puerto Rico’s best unspoiled islands off the eastern coast of Fajardo. Wander the white sandy beaches, slip on a pair of fins and discover a colorful world of tropical fish in the crystal clear caribbean waters with snorkeling belts, refreshments, and lunch provided by our friendly bilingual crew.  During our sail, we’ll be making two stops: one being the white sandy beach of the nearby natural reserves and the second at the coral reef where you will be able to snorkel in 15ft – 20ft depth of water. Destination will be determined by our captain on the day of the experience. The destination is determined based on the weather and water conditions of the day. 

Isla de Palominos

Located some 3.5 nautical miles east of Fajardo, it has a size of approximately 104 acres. It is one of a few private islands that exist throughout Puerto Rico. Part of the island is on lease to El Conquistador Hotel to be used as the hotel’s beach. About a quarter-mile south of Palominos island lies Cayo Palominitos, which is a one-acre sandy key with tropical vegetation perfect for swimming or snorkeling.

Isla de Lobos

Located some 1.5 nautical miles east of Cayo Icacos, it has a size of approximately five acres. It is also one of a few private islands throughout Puerto Rico. In the early ’60s, the island hosted a very exclusive hotel, which ran into financial difficulties and was abandoned for a great part of the ’70s and ’80s until it was bought by a local family and converted into a paradise vacation home. Surrounded by small keys and coral reefs, it is great for snorkeling.

Cayo Icacos

Located some four nautical miles northeast of Fajardo, it has a size of approximately 163 acres. It is part of a chain of small islands, keys, and coral reefs known as La Reserva Natural de la Cordillera. The island hosts a fairly large amount of marine life, coral reefs, birds, and land iguanas. It is the perfect setting for snorkeling, swimming, diving, and beachcombing. It gets its name from the large number of Icacos bushes on the island. The Icacos is a small sour fruit, which grows to about the size of a key lime. When ready to be picked, they are pale yellow in color and come off the bush quite easily. The best way to eat them is cooked in heavy syrup.

No, you do not need a license to rent a boat on Sailo as long as you are renting a private catamaran charter in Puerto Rico with a captain included. There are two types of boat rentals and yacht charters available on our website: bareboat and captained charters. If you rent a bareboat yacht, then your charter comes without any crew, and you or someone in your group will need a license. The boat owner will require you to upload the boating resume or license of the person who will drive the boat. Most of our boat owners might also like to test your boating skills before you take your bareboat charter out on the water. When you charter a yacht with a captain included or add the captain and/or crew as an extra to your sailing adventure, then a certified skipper will be provided.

Kayaking Tour (2 Hours)

We start our Bio Bay Kayaking Tour at the beach of “Las Croabas,” a small fishing village located on the extreme northeastern tip of Puerto Rico.

Here, you have a brief safety session and review kayaking basics, the rules of the road (or waterways), and a review of the importance of keeping any disturbance of the pristine environment of the bioluminescent lagoon to a minimum.

Then, we launch our kayaks and head for a hidden opening in the mangroves at the northern end of the beach. Upon entering the mangroves, we follow a channel for a mile that leads to the Laguna Grande.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• Waterproof Photo Camera, GoPro Camera, or Cell Phone with a waterproof cover with a good amount of battery to take pictures aboard.
• Sunblock: We are in the Caribbean, and with the Warm Temperatures year-round, it’s always good to be protected against the Sun.
• Sunglasses and/or Hat
• Comfortable Shoes and swim suite under light beach clothing
• Personal Towel
• Get seasick, and take an over-the-counter remedy with food at least 1 hour before the trip.
• We include the use of the snorkeling equipment during the tour, but you may also bring your own if preferred or purchase new equipment at our East Island Excursions Store.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Individual reservations:.

10:00 am the day before the scheduled trip, and the reservation can be canceled for 1-9 passengers, 10 + passengers 2 days prior with No penalty. Full payment is required upon booking with any major credit card to confirm the reservations.

“NO SHOW”  or if you don’t arrive on time, the ticket is  NOT REFUNDABLE  and  NOT REUSABLE unless (and only if) we have space available to reschedule on a future date. Reschedule must be made on the day of the original trip, based on availability, and  a rescheduling fee of $25+ tax per person will be applied.

*All marine activities are subject to water conditions. Please call the prior day for an update; cancellations or change of destination due to water conditions are at the Captain’s discretion. These decisions can be informed upon check-in.

Upon departing the marina in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, our guests will enjoy the beautiful views of the El Yunque Mountains and the waterfront of the Fajardo coastline. After a comfortable sail on our catamaran of about one hour, the Icacos Beach and Snorkel Tour begins as we anchor at one of the small deserted islands off the northeast corner of Puerto Rico. Guests can practice their snorkeling, walk on the beach, beach comb, and swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Icacos island.

A leisurely catamaran sail back to the marina brings us back to the dock at 3:30 pm. Guests can enjoy viewing the fish at the reef through our glass windows and have fun on our water slide aboard our catamaran. Lunch is served at approximately 12:30 pm, where our guests can enjoy local pastries, build their own sandwiches, peruse the salad bar and enjoy fresh fruit.

Tour duration and return times are approximate and may vary slightly due to weather, traffic conditions and circumstances beyond the tour operator’s control.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the scheduled tour date and local time via EMAIL ONLY. A sales representative will respond with validation of requested cancellation. Those who intend to cancel within the 48 hour time frame will be fully charged by the designated tour operator. There will be absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS under any circumstance to waive any fees.

After submittion of requested tour, you agree to our 48 hour cancellation policy and acknowledge any cancellations made within the given time frame are to be considered a FINAL SALE. There will be No Re-scheduling, and NO REFUNDS will be given.

Please note some tours depend on weather conditions to function and may be affected. Unfortunately, mother nature is out of our control, any changes required will be notified to you immediately. For safety concerns, if a tour operator cancels the scheduled tour, the option of re-scheduling will be given or a refund will be provided.
