Commercial success: 55m Steel FDHF sold with Arcon Yachts

Heesen is delighted to announce the sale of YN19755, Project Gemini. Arcon Yachts introduced the client, and is supervising and project managing the construction of the yacht.

This is the second yacht sold in Spring 2021 by the Dutch shipyard. Project Gemini’s construction was started as a speculative venture, the latest yacht in Heesen’s successful program to provide time-poor clients with shorter delivery times on a selection of superyachts built to the highest standards of design, engineering and Dutch quality.

By beginning the build with an optimized engineering and construction schedule before the client steps in, Heesen can undertake to deliver a superior product on a defined date. Depending on the stage at which the client joins the process, the yacht can be customized to suit his individual taste and lifestyle. With excellent organization and time management to back up its supremely professional workforce, and the reliability of the shipyard’s supply chain, Heesen is able to deliver its yachts on time and on budget – even in these challenging times.

With her Dutch pedigree, reduced delivery schedule, large internal volume, and excellent fuel efficiency thanks to her Fast Displacement Hull Form, Project Gemini immediately grabbed the attention of her new owners. Negotiations and a sales agreement were soon concluded.

We have been impressed by the flexibility of the shipyard in accommodating the client’s requests, and have enjoyed working with Heesen’s new CCO, Friso Visser, and his experienced team.”

He added: “Heesen’s sales and marketing people provided us with excellent material to help us familiarize our client with this magnificent yacht. And despite the travel restrictions, they managed to arrange a visit for the buyer to see the yacht under construction. This was a crucial experience, as our client was able to appreciate in person the superb levels of organization and quality that this Dutch shipyard delivers.”

Heesen’s 55-metre Steel class, whose exterior lines are by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, perfectly balances outdoor and indoor spaces, and emphasises the connection between the two with large floor-to-ceiling windows and open bulwarks. The concept’s design excellence is more than skin-deep: beneath the waterline lies an ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form, the latest iteration of van Oossanen’s patented, low-drag design. With two IMO III-compliant MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines, Project Gemini will achieve a remarkable top speed of 15.5 knots, with an impressive trans-oceanic range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Twelve guests will be accommodated in six staterooms, with the 82-square-metre owner’s apartment located forward on the main deck, spanning the full beam. Four guest cabins can be found on the lower deck, and there is a private VIP cabin on the bridge deck.

An elegant and distinctive interior scheme characterised by geometric shapes and concepts has been drafted for Project Gemini by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, the first time this renowned Italian studio has partnered with Heesen.

“We were glad that our proposed interiors for Gemini found such immediate favour with the client, so close to the delivery date – this doesn’t always happen with a speculative build!” says Luca Dini. “But we still had time to tailor the details to the client’s needs, especially with regard to the choice of freestanding furniture, fabrics and craftsmanship. The result is stunning. It was a pleasing outcome for everyone.”

Project Gemini will be delivered to her owners at the end of October 2022, and will be part of the exclusive Arcon Yachts charter fleet.

Project Sparta: The Megayacht Of The Future

The private yacht that offers everything.

The perfect marriage of bespoke luxury and ultra-efficient machinery, Project Sparta is the megayacht of the future. At 67-meters in length, her clever design asks for no compromises in either comfort or utility. Once finished, she will be the largest steel displacement motor yacht Heesen has ever built. The Dutch shipyard has announced that the construction of the superyacht began in Oct 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2023. 

Constantly pushing the boundaries of yacht crafting, Heesen has collaborated with Arcon Yachts of Monaco and Winch Designs to bring the floating masterpiece to life. Arcon Yachts serves as the Owner’s technical advisors and project managers of the full-custom yacht’s construction. Andrew Winch’s interior and exterior design ingenuity has maximized every inch of the vessel’s space while still maintaining an elevated look. Project Sparta features Winch’s signature sleek lines and ultra-modern yet classic touches. 

More than just her looks, Project Sparta utilizes Perry van Oossanen’s patented fast displacement hull form (FDHF) to guarantee a hyper-efficient yet smooth and comfortable journey. She has an internal volume of approximately 1,200 gross tons, and her elegant engine room houses two MTU 12V4000 M65R diesel engines. The mega-yacht will reach a top speed of 16 knots and cut through the seas with a transatlantic cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her crew will operate her from a raised pilothouse, lending itself to a more streamlined and sporty profile.

THE PRIVATE YACHT THAT OFFERS EVERYTHING

Project Sparta comfortably hosts 12 guests, two staff members, and 14 crew members. The bridge deck is reserved for the Owner and is composed of two suites and a private outdoor lounge. The main deck houses four guest suites. Winch Designs has shown off his utilitarian side by incorporating a sliding partition that seamlessly transforms two of the front-facing suites into a full beam VIP suite–a feature unusual for a vessel of its size. There is no wasted space and no compromises in comfort found on this go-anywhere-sized vessel. Winch Designs has rightfully deemed Project Sparta a “pocket mega-yacht.” 

The stepped aft deck houses a 6.5-meter Infinity pool, and the top sundeck features a bar and jacuzzi. An offset spiral staircase wraps around a glass elevator that connects all three decks. The lower deck is home to crew quarters and a wellness sanctuary that includes an oval jacuzzi, sauna, gym, and steam room. 

PROJECT SPARTA EMBARKS ON THE ULTIMATE MAIDEN VOYAGE 

Project Sparta’s maneuverability means nearly unlimited opportunities to discover the world’s most exotic and far-flung destinations. Her 2023 maiden voyage will include stops at shipyards in the following most desirable destinations:

1.) THE MEDITERRANEAN 

The Mediterranean’s gorgeous coastlines will perfectly complement the yacht’s sleek and super sporty profile. Optimal mooring opportunities abound in this premier yachting destination, with possible dockings along the Amalfi Coast or perhaps a long tour through Northern Sardinia for breathtaking views and some of the  best cuisine  Italy has to offer. 

2.)  FJORDS OF NORWAY AND THE LOFOTEN ISLES

Project Sparta was destined to navigate Norway’s vast network of waterways. Her compact size and hyper-efficient machinery will allow her to move deftly through the deep fjords, letting her get up close and personal with its magnificent glaciers. The landscape drenched with untamed mountains and wildlife will offer an abundance of activities for the owner, including fishing, mountaineering, kayaking, and canyoning. 

3.) THE CARIBBEAN AND BAHAMAS

During the winter months, Project Sparta and her Owner will warm themselves along the sun-soaked coastlines of the Caribbean. Here, there will be plenty of opportunities to sunbathe on the yacht’s spacious decks, snorkel in the crystalline waters, and take in the warm breeze while entertaining friends and family at the top deck bar. Project Sparta will have no trouble maneuvering between the more than 700 islands the Bahamas has to offer–each with its distinct personality and offerings. 

4.) AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND 

The Land Down Under’s vast coastline includes opportunities to explore the rugged island of Tasmania, visit the idyllic Whitsunday archipelago, and of course, scuba diving at the iconic Great Barrier Reef. Price reduction on 56m Perini Navi at Arcon Yachts

Arcon yachts has reduced the price of perini navi’s ketch sailing yacht burrasca by $500,000. she is currently based in monaco and has a new asking price of €16.5 million….

Arcon Yachts has reduced the price of Perini Navi’s ketch sailing yacht Burrasca   by $500,000. She is currently based in Monaco and has a new asking price of €16.5 million.

56m Burrasca was built at the Italian shipyard’s facility in Viareggio in 2003. She is one of the first Perini Navi builds to feature the design work of Ron Holland, who since 2003, has gone on to design the interior of two other notable 56m Perini Navi builds, Bayesian and Selene , and the exterior for a further 12 Perini Navi builds ranging from 43.5m to 63.4m.

At 497 gross tons, Burrasca is one of the more voluminous sailing yachts in the fleet. Only 2.3 per cent of the sailing yacht fleet exceeds the 500GT mark. Her capacious interior permits her to sleep 12 guests over a five en-suite stateroom layout; only 2.2 per cent of the sailing yacht fleet can accommodate 12 or more guests on board.

S/Y Burrasca

Burrasca is also a more than capable motorsailer; she is fitted with twin inboard Deutz TBD616 V12 engines, with 1,240 hours on the clock since their 6,000-hour overhaul in 2014. She has a fuel capacity of 55,000 litres, allowing a 17 knot maximum speed and a boundless 6,000 nautical mile range at 10 knots under motor. 

Burrasca’s  10-year ABS classification survey was completed in the summer of 2014. Additionally, she underwent extensive servicing and upgrading of all on board systems.

There is a very limited selection of sailing yachts on the market at this size, henceforth their sales are few and far between. Twizzle was sold earlier this month for what was expected to be in the region of the €39.75 million final asking price. However, last year only one sailing yacht above 50m was sold - 51.7m Red Dragon . No second-hand Perini Navi build of this size has been sold since 56m Salute in December 2014.
