After several months of looking and two failed surveys, I have just completed the purchase of my first boat, a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795. As a newcomer to boating I have to admit my first impression of boat brokers was pretty poor (compared to other industries I deal with) - descriptions were definitely on the optimistic side, boats were untidy, dirty and generally poorly presented. No excuses, just very poor sales and I would be careful who to list my boat with in the future. Then I came across Ancasta (Leo Walters) who shone bright like a beacon. The description of the boat was accurate, minor faults highlighted and extra pictures provided on request. Communications with Ancasta have been excellent, the boat was very well presented for inspection and after sales Ancasta remained interested to ensure my experience was positive. I wouldn't hesitate going to Ancasta for another purchase and if you are thinking of selling a boat, consider using Ancasta, you will get better service and value for money than many other brokers out there. And as a buying customer I would feel confident buying through them so you would be more likely to sell to me!

I thought that I would drop you a line to say how very pleased we were with the help and support we got from Kostas and Josiane in Ancasta Badalona. We always felt that they were working for us, not just to make a sale. In particular Kostas was able to help and advise on some of the little touches to make Ione look a little better for sale – replacing a rusty heads jubilee clip, acid cleaning around some seacocks etc. In addition he went well beyond the call of duty in taking me to his chiropractor when I wrecked my back cleaning in lockers! Ancasta open new brokerage office at Plymouth Yacht Haven

Yacht broker Ancasta have grown their Westcountry presence by opening a new office in Plymouth’s largest marina, Plymouth Yacht Haven.

The broker already has 14 offices across Europe with a strong presence in the south west of the UK. They include offices in Falmouth, Dartmouth and Mylor as well as their current Plymouth office at Queen Anne’s Battery.

Commenting on the expansion, Ancasta Yacht Broker James Christian said, “We’ve seen an expanding market at Plymouth Yacht Haven over the past few years and it seems the right time to further establish our brand and open a second office. Ancasta are the only brokerage in Port Solent and in a perfect position to service vendors’ requirements, whether selling or buying. With four full time brokers we are in a great position to cover boats lying at the Chichester marinas along with those on Hayling Island and Southsea. Our office overlooks the whole site at Port Solent and buyers find access to the site through excellent transport links. There is plenty of storage ashore here, especially over the winter, and we also have berths on which we can give brokerage craft excellent exposure.   Port Solent is an 850 berth marina complex with a large and varied selection of bars, restaurants, shops and cinema. It is very popular with first time buyers and experienced boat owners alike for it’s atmosphere and convenience. Our office has been firmly established here for nearly 20 years, is open seven days a week and customers are assured of a warm welcome whatever stage they are at in the process. The moment you list your boat with this office, it is immediately available across our whole network – Falmouth to Brighton, Hamble to S France, Brixham to Palma.  Talk to us, we are listening.
