Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, P Diddy and Bernie Ecclestone have all moored their luxury yachts off the coast of St. Barts as the annual bacchanal of celebrities parading their wealth on vacation sets in.

The billionaire's parking lot off the coast of the Caribbean island, known for its white sand beaches and designer shopping, was looking a little less crowded this year without the traditional Russian oligarch superyachts, but still saw a healthy list of notable guests.

Pictures from the Caribbean paradise showed Ecclestone in his yacht 'Force Blue,' Diddy in his vessel Victorious and Galaxy housing Dave Hagewood sitting nearby one another.

Meanwhile, snaps from the sunny coastline saw Ernesto Bertarelli in his yacht Vava, Rising Sun the seaworthy vacation home of David Geffen and Jones in the Bravo Eugenia, named after his wife.

In April, the FBI and Spanish authorities seized mega yacht Monday owned by oligarch and Putin friend Viktor Vekselberg – amid calls for even tighter sanctions on Russia following new discoveries of atrocities outside Kyiv.

The 254-foot vessel was docked in Palma de Mallorca, the capital of Spain's Balearic Islands and a playground and tax haven for the wealthy.

The seizure was a joint operation including FBI and Homeland Security Investigations as well as Spain's Civil Guard carried out at the request of U.S. authorities.

The seizure was the the first in the U.S. government's sanctions initiative to 'seize and freeze' giant vessels and other pricey assets of Russian elites in an effort to turn up pressure on Putin in response to the invasion.

It came hours after new horrors emerged from the suburb of Bucha outside Kyiv, Ukrainian forces who pushed back Russian invaders discovered bodies of Ukrainian citizens shot dead in the street, some with their hands tied behind their backs.

You can own part of this 279-foot-long superyacht for $3.2 million and stay on it whenever you want — see inside

  • Superyacht Holdings is giving millionaires the chance to cohabitate the $117 million Victorious superyacht .
  • The minimum one-time co-ownership payment is $3.2 million plus an annual over $321,000.
  • With plans to launch in the summer of 2024, the startup is waiting to acquire the 279-foot-long vessel.

Insider Today

Calling all millionaires and billionaires: You no longer have to drop over $100 million to own a luxurious superyacht . Try a very affordable $3 million instead.

Superyacht Holdings is taking a (relatively) democratized approach to superyacht ownership with its first target acquisition, the €110 million — about $117 million — Victorious. Instead of asking one billionaire to independently pay for and own this 279-foot-long vessel, wealthy travelers can cough up €3 million, about $3.2 million, to co-own and cohabitate the Victorious for several weeks a year with other millionaires.

According to the startup's itinerary, the superyacht would spend its summers in the Mediterranean and winters in the Caribbean, turning this lavish vessel into a floating hotel or part-time condo building. Like a HOA fee , buyers would also have to pay an annual €300,000 — over $321,000 — to cover costs like gratuities, fuel, and food. (For context, the 279-foot-long Victorious can currently be chartered for $950,000 a week in the winter.)

"When billionaires get on yachts of this magnitude, their jaws still drop at the luxury," Thomas Locastro, Superyacht Holdings' cofounder and co-CEO, told Insider

Built in 2021 by Turkey-based Akyacht, Victorious has 12 staterooms, six bars, and five formal (seven informal) dining spaces.

Buyers can book whichever staterooms at whatever times of the year they'd like, pending restrictions based on how much they're willing to pay. This means there's a good chance several of these wealthy travelers would be on the yacht at the same time, like a very exclusive cruise .

At most, there could be 24 guests and 30 crew onboard. During big events like the Monaco Grand Prix or New Year's Eve, the vessel could be at full capacity. But on average, the startup is predicting an owner-occupancy rate of 62.5%.

Related stories

"There's so few yachts in the world that would work for a program," Matthew Locastro, cofounder and co-CEO, said, noting the Victorious' size and number of staterooms.

The vessel has a walk-in wine cellar, two hot tubs, an indoor pool, a piano lounge, and a movie theater.

A helicopter pad can be used to shuttle travelers to and from the floating hotel. And let's not forget the onboard 2,150-square-foot "beach club" with a heated pool. This is also where the steam room, massage room, gym, salon, and water toys like jet skis are located.

And because the ship is currently in operation, Superyacht Holdings won't have to do any refitting work. "We want it to be ready to go on day one," Matthew said.

To the few who have ever considered buying a superyacht, this could be a great deal

For all of these amenities and a guaranteed few weeks on the vessel, travelers only have to cough up less than 3% of the Victorious' price. While still unattainable to the general public, this opens the pool of buyers from billionaires to multi-millionaires.

The startup's president, James St. John, was previously the president and CEO of luxury residential cruise ship The World where accommodations now resell between $2 million and $15 million. This vessel is the only condominium-at-sea concept in service and is exclusive to buyers who have a net worth of at least $10 million.

However, having previously worked in the entertainment and financial advisory industries, the cofounding and co-CEO Locastro brothers have no experience running a yacht or cruise company.

Superyacht Holdings hasn't acquired its vessel yet, but this isn't uncommon for ship startups

When Superyacht Holdings hits its target threshold of reserved "units," the company will plan to move forward with the Victorious' acquisition under a "co-ownership LLC," according to the brothers. That's when all of the buyers' $3.2 million-per-unit payments would go into a common escrow account.

Buyers' ownership of the ship is divided into 60 units. One unit entitles a buyer to a certain amount of usage of the yacht, an annual average of between three weeks in the nicest suite to seven weeks in the least luxurious twin stateroom.

Nine of the units have been reserved, Matthew told Insider in an email on November 6. One of the buyers, Justin Thorton, signed a memorandum of understanding to purchase two, entitling him to double the normal usage.

Less than a year away from its target launch of summer 2024, the brothers seem confident in this acquisition. In the meantime, future buyers' $100,000 deposits — to be held in a personal escrow account until the company closes on the Victorious — are refundable.

A rare look inside Diddy’s $65 million superyacht

p diddy yacht victorious

From a newspaper vendor at the age of 12, Sean “Diddy” Combs has built a successful business empire in addition to his music career. The business mogul has a net worth of nearly $1 billion and his fortune comes from stakes in businesses such as Ciroc Vodka, Sean John clothing line, DeLeon tequila, Aquahydrate water, and sponsorships deals.

Aside from his businesses, Diddy is accustomed to the high life and he has a superyacht to match his status as a musician, artiste manager and business investor. The business mogul owns a $65 million superyacht he bought in 2012.

According to autoevolution , Diddy has been sailing in Europe, like other celebrities and multimillionaires. The difference here is that Diddy travels using his own yacht, Maraya, which means “many mirrors” in Arabic or “admired” based on its Spanish origin.

Maraya was built and delivered in 2008 by CRN Ancona, a Ferretti Group subsidiary. The yacht is 54.2-meter (177.8-foot) and has interiors by Claude Missir and Zuccon. Also, the yacht is a five-decker that offers ample exterior space and lavish interiors.

According to autoevolution , the superyacht’s hull is steel and the superstructure aluminum. It has a sparkling white with a clean silhouette exterior; the interiors are more masculine, with heavy woods and real leather accents.

The yacht has accommodation for 12 people over eight rooms, including a master suite, five VIP staterooms, three twin cabins and one Pullman bed. It can carry up to 17 crew members onboard to ensure a truly relaxing experience, according to Daily Mail.

The yacht also has other luxurious amenities like a jacuzzi on the sundeck, a fully-equipped gym and wellness area, and vast lounge areas. The yacht also has a nightclub-like area with a bar, a screening room, formal and informal dining rooms, and a chef’s kitchen.

The Maraya, powered by twin Caterpillar engines, can reach maximum speeds of 16.5 knots and travel leisurely at 14.5 knots, according to autoevolution .

Diddy was raised by his grandmother following the killing of his dad when he was only two years old. He graduated from the Roman Catholic Mouth Saint Michael Academy in 1987 and proceeded to Howard University as a business major, but left after his sophomore year, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

He is credited with nurturing talents such as Jodeci and Mary J. Blige besides Notorious BIG, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, 112, Total, and Father MC.

Sean Combs’ son Christian accused of sexual assault on yacht Diddy chartered

LOS ANGELES — Sean “Diddy” Combs has been named in another civil lawsuit, this time by a woman alleging that his son Christian “King” Combs sexually assaulted her aboard a superyacht the Bad Boy Entertainment co-founder charted in late 2022.

But the Combs team dismissed it as “just another lewd and meritless claim” by her attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, that is “filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts” that they’ve come to expect from the New York-based lawyer.

ADVERTISING

In the lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Grace O’Marcaigh added her name to the list of people accusing the embattled business mogul of alleged wrongdoing while he faces a federal probe into sex trafficking allegations. O’Marcaigh, who worked as a steward on the Victorious ship, alleged that the 26-year-old rapper Christian Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her in late December 2022 aboard the boat charter, which Diddy “sold as a wholesome family excursion” that devolved into a “hedonistic environment.”

O’Marcaigh, who was 25 around the time of the alleged incident, provided dinner and drink service on the yacht from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The bartender also said she witnessed partying and drug use between a “constant rotation of suspected sex workers and other A-List celebrities, according to the filing reviewed Friday by The Times.

O’Marcaigh is accusing Christian Combs, one of Diddy’s children with the late model Kim Porter, of sexual assault, sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress in the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages and a jury trial. Diddy, 54, who is named as a co-defendant, is being sued for premises liability as the person who leased the yacht and “had full control of the staff and premises” and for aiding and abetting his son in the alleged assault. O’Marcaigh accused him of orchestrating a “subsequent coverup” of her alleged assault that ultimately resulted in her termination in May 2023.

She claimed that Diddy allowed for “unwanted exposure to unlawful drug use, sex work, and general chaos,” adding that the mogul “created an extremely hazardous environment” in which staff was often “treated with disrespect, suspected sex workers were sprawled out unconscious about the yacht, and it was difficult to distinguish which bottles of alcohol were laced with drugs and which bottles were not.” She described women aboard the yacht “falling over themselves, panicking, or passing out” after one shot of tequila or one mixed drink that she believed was “likely laced with drugs.”

The complaint was filed by attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn, the lawyer who is also representing Diddy’s former “Love” album producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in a bombshell sexual harassment and assault case brought against the Grammy Award winner, his son Justin “Dior” Combs, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and other members of Diddy’s inner circle. (O’Marcaigh, in her complaint, described Jones as “an extended member of the service staff” who spent time with her at the service bar and piano room on the yacht.)

She also made several other allegations about illicit behavior by Diddy and Gooding, whom she said she witnessed “inappropriately touching” Jones, as was alleged in Jones’ lawsuit.

“Like father, like son,” Blackburn said in a statement to NBC News, which first reported on the new lawsuit.

“It gives us no joy or pleasure in filing this suit against Christian Combs who has clearly adopted his father’s pattern and practice of depravity.”

Blackburn and fellow filing attorney Rodney S. Diggs did not respond Friday to The Times’ requests for comment.

“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served,” said attorney Aaron Dyer, who represents both Sean and Christian Combs.

“This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn. This is exactly why the federal judge in New York slapped him two days ago for a ‘pattern of behavior’ in ‘improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’ and why he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York. We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.”

In the past, Diddy has denied wrongdoing and vowed to fight the lawsuits. Four women, including his ex Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, have sued him since last November alleging sexual assault.

A “normal” December 24 in St Barths with friends, hikes, caviar, and glimpses of cool places

I like this video because it takes us to the vibrant streets of St Barths on December 24. Vlogger Maria Teresa Lopez shares good impressions of island life, like shopping for stunning swimsuits, dropping by a Rosewood Guanahani and Nikki Beach to soak up the views, having dinner at Shelona, buying produce from the local supermarket, and visiting Bar de l’Oubli for high-speed internet access. Plus, there’s always that minor detail when you’re out in public: getting your hair just right. Luckily, you can book hairdressers to come on board your yacht or villa—for just $200 a pop (or DIY)!

Celebrity sighting: P.Diddy and his entourage in Gustavia and on their yacht

On Saturday, December 24th, 2022, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was spotted filming one of the first installments of a new reality show in the streets of Gustavia.  P. Diddy was accompanied by his entourage and production crew, who did some last-minute shopping before heading back to his yacht!

I remember when the Kardashians came to film their own reality show on our island – it always makes me wonder whether I will be in any of those scenes as an unwitting background person.

P Diddy posts apology video after footage of him assaulting ex Cassie surfaced

P Diddy posts apology video after footage of him assaulting ex Cassie surfaced

The shocking video was shared last week.

Warning: This article contains discussion of domestic violence which some readers may find distressing

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has broken his silence following a video that emerged of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016.

The 54-year-old rapper spoke out on Instagram , telling followers that he 'makes no excuses' for his behaviour in the clip.

He said: "So difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you got to do that. I was f**ked up.

"I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses, my behaviour in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I'm disgusted.

"I was disgusted then when I did it, I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab.

"Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I am committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I'm truly sorry."

The footage of Combs assaulting Cassie - which was obtained by CNN - was taken at a Los Angeles hotel back in 2016.

In the clip, the rapper can be seen chasing Cassie down the hallway before he assaulted her.

Combs can be seen grabbing Cassie, throwing her to the floor and kicking her twice.

Diddy issued the apology on Instagram today. (Instagram/@diddy)

Last year, Cassie filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Manhattan alleging that Combs 'frequently beat' her during their on-off around 10-year relationship.

Just a day later, they reached a settlement.

In response to the video circulating this week, one of Cassie's lawyers, Douglas H Wigdor, issued a statement.

It read: "The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs.

"Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light."

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday (17 May): "We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles.

The rapper said he 'hit rock bottom'. (JOCE/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images)

"We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.

"If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.

"As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services."

Diddy's son accused in lawsuit of sexual assault on chartered yacht: father implicated

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A lawsuit that names Sean “Diddy” Combs as a co-defendant alleges that his son Christian “King” Combs sexually assaulted a woman working on a yacht chartered by his father.

The suit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court says Sean Combs created the circumstances that led to the assault and paid to cover it up afterward. It’s the latest in a series of lawsuits accusing the producer and music mogul of sexual misconduct, and it comes amid a federal sex trafficking investigation that led Homeland Security agents to raid his homes in Los Angeles and Miami last week.

Grace O'Marcaigh, who worked as a crew member and a bartender on the boat, says that in late December 2022, Christian Combs pressured her to drink tequila that she believes was spiked with other drugs. He groped her breasts and genitals and attempted to force her to perform oral sex, the suit alleges.

The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly, as O’Marcaigh has done. She also consented to being named through her attorneys.

Aaron Dyer, an attorney for Sean and Christian Combs, called the lawsuit “lewd and meritless.”

"We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim," Dyer said in a statement.

Dyer called the investigation that brought last week's raids "nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”

Sean Combs, who chartered the yacht throughout the holidays in 2022, “had full control of the staff and premises” and created circumstances where her assault was not only tolerated but encouraged.

O’Marcaigh, who was 25 at the time, said when Christian Combs, then 24, came aboard late one night, he appeared heavily intoxicated and began giving her inappropriate attention.

She said the two were in a music studio on board the ship, where producer Rodney Jones, who filed his own lawsuit in February, was told to be available around the clock for Sean Combs to work on his next album.

O’Marcaigh said in the suit that Christian Combs was insistent that she take shots of tequila, and she drank out of obligation.

The suit alleges he became increasingly aggressive with her, violently grabbing her arm as she tried to get out of the situation then groping her. The drinks made everything blurry, unusually quickly, the suit says.

Microphones in the studio, where Jones was told to capture everything, recorded their exchange, and the lawsuit includes a transcript where O’Marcaigh demands that Christian Combs stop touching her.

The suit alleges that he later continued the assault in the ship's movie theater, which was used as a spare sleeping area and where she was attempting to find a place to spend the night because the rooms were all taken, before another crew member appeared and he stopped.

O’Marcaigh told the yacht's captain about the assault the following morning, but she alleges that after Combs gave him a large amount of cash the same day, the captain failed to meaningfully investigate or take any action.

The suit says O'Marcaigh was eventually fired in retaliation and has since been unable to find work in the music industry where she had planned to build a career. It says since 2022, she has suffered severe emotional trauma.

The lawsuit seeks damages to be determined at trial.

Christian Combs is also a musical artist whose song “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” with Kodak Black topped Billboard’s Mainstream R&B Hip-Hop charts in 2022. He was at his father's Los Angeles home during last week's searches, during which he and his brother were handcuffed but not arrested.

The producer Jones’ federal lawsuit, filed in February by Tyrone Blackburn, the same attorney as O’Marcaigh's suit, includes allegations that Sean Combs coerced him to solicit prostitutes and pressured him to have sex with them.

Dyer's statement said the newest lawsuit is “filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn.”

He pointed out that U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote criticized Blackburn in a separate lawsuit on Wednesday and referred him to a disciplinary committee for a “pattern of behavior" where he “improperly files cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly.”

Blackburn responded in an email that “a referral is not a sanction” and the statement from Combs' lawyer was an attempt to “deflect and distract.”

“Christian Combs sexually assaulted Ms. O’Marcaigh, and we have it on tape," Blackburn said.

Several lawsuits have brought public scrutiny to the music and business mogul, beginning with a November suit from his former protege and girlfriend, the R&B singer Cassie, which alleged years of sexual abuse, including rape. It was settled the following day.

Combs and his attorneys have denied all of the lawsuits' allegations.

Combs, a three-time Grammy winner and the founder of Bad Boy Records, is among the most influential hip-hop producers and executives of the past three decades. He turned his hip-hop empire into a broader business empire that includes private-label spirits, fashion, and a TV network.

Alarming never-before-seen hotel security footage from 2016 shows  Sean "Diddy" Combs  physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the R&B singer Cassie Ventura. The footage comes several months after the two  reached a settlement in her rape lawsuit against the music mogul .

The footage obtained and published by CNN  and dated March 5, 2016 shows Combs grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking his then-girlfriend in clips compiled from multiple camera angles. The footage corresponds to an incident highlighted in Ventura's explosive  35-page lawsuit , in which she made graphic and disturbing allegations against Diddy, including a claim that he raped her in 2018.

Cassie and Diddy went public with their relationship in 2012, though they were romantically linked as far back as 2007. In 2008, they collaborated on his song, "Swagga Like Puff," and in 2009, they worked together on her song, "Must Be Love." They split for good in October 2018.

Cassie claimed the "Missing You" rapper began a pattern of control and abuse within a few years of signing her to his Bad Boy Records label. She claimed Diddy's control over her included him introducing her "to a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse and required her to procure illicit prescriptions to satisfy his own addictions."

The singer, who is now married to fitness trainer Alex Fine, also claimed Diddy would often punch, beat, kick, and stomp on her, resulting in bruises, burst lips, black eyes and bleeding.

According to CNN, the footage appears to show the father of seven during an incident that, per Ventura's complaint, occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

In the video, Ventura is seen exiting a hotel room and walking to a bank of elevators. Combs, holding a towel around his waist, runs after the model and grabs her by the back of the neck, throwing her to the floor. He then turns to kick her as she lays on the ground.

Combs retrieves Ventura's dropped purse and weekend bag from the floor near the elevators before turning to kick Ventura again. He then begins to drag Ventura by the neck of her sweatshirt toward a room before walking away.

Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura's lawyer, shared a statement with ET in response to the video's reveal. "The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs," he shared. "Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light."

A day after Ventura filed her lawsuit against Combs, the two reached a settlement .

In a statement to ET, Diddy said, "We have decided to resolve this matter amicably." He added, "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love."

"Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing," said Diddy's attorney, Ben Brafman, in a statement to ET. "Mr. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best."

Sources close to the situation tell ET, "The decision to settle quickly and privately was largely influenced by considerations for Diddy's family."

The footage emerges as Combs faces five other civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activity . Diddy  broke his silence  after the fourth lawsuit was filed in less than a month from the first three lawsuits. He took to Instagram and said, "Enough is enough."

He added, "For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."

Last month his son,  Christian Combs , was also accused of sexually assaulting a yacht employee chartered by his father in December 2022.

In a  statement to ET , Diddy and Christian's attorney, Aaron Dyer, told ET in part, "We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim."

The new lawsuit came just weeks after Christian and his brother, Justin Combs,  were handcuffed  outside Diddy's Los Angeles home amid a raid executed by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which also raided the embattled music mogul's home in Miami.

In a statement to ET, HSI would only say that the raids were "part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners." It's been reported that the raids are tied to sex trafficking allegations and that the probe is helmed by the U.S. District Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York.

At this point, it's unclear if any of the litany of sexual assault lawsuits filed against Diddy are tied to the raids. But a source previously  told  Rolling Stone   that four Jane Does and one John Doe had already sat for interviews with investigators for a probe related to an alleged sex trafficking and RICO case, and additional interviews have also been scheduled.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs apologizes after video depicting attack on ex-girlfriend

Estimated read time: 2-3 minutes

LOS ANGELES — Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs posted an apology to social media on Sunday, two days after the release of hotel surveillance video that appeared to show him attacking his ex-girlfriend.

"I'm truly sorry," Combs said in a video post on his Instagram page. "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now."

Addressing the camera directly, Combs said he had sought therapy and gone into rehab.

In the surveillance video from 2016, which was released by CNN on Friday, the rapper appears to grab R&B vocalist Casandra Ventura as she waits by an elevator in a California hotel. Clad only in a towel, he throws her to the floor, kicking her repeatedly before dragging her toward a hallway, the video shows.

A representative for Combs could not be immediately reached for further comment.

Ventura, who performs under the stage name Cassie, sued Combs in 2023, accusing him of serial physical abuse, sexual slavery and rape during a 10-year professional and romantic relationship in which he controlled her through intimidation, drugs and alcohol. The parties settled the matter the following day for undisclosed terms. Representatives for Combs said at the time the settlement was "in no way an admission of wrongdoing."

The lawsuit was one of at least four civil complaints in recent months that leveled sexual assault allegations against Combs.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said in March it had opened an investigation into the hip-hop star and searched his homes in the Miami area and in Los Angeles; it provided no details of the nature of the investigation.

Local television images of the search showed an armored vehicle and officers carrying rifles outside Combs' Los Angeles home. Authorities detained some people at the property with their hands bound by zip ties.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs abuse allegations: A timeline of key events

L OS ANGELES (AP) — Newly released video appears to show Sean “Diddy” Combs beating his former singing protege and girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

The video was aired by CNN Friday six months after the R&B singer filed a lawsuit that set off a wave of similar cases and public allegations against one of the most influential music moguls of the past three decades.

Here is a look at the key events that have unfolded since late last year.

Cassie says in a lawsuit that Combs subjected her to years of abuse, including beatings and rape. Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, signed to Combs' label in 2005, and the two were on-again-off-again romantic partners for more than a decade starting in 2007. The lawsuit filed in federal court says Combs was “prone to uncontrollable rage” and subjected her to “savage” beatings. It says he plied her with drugs, forced her to have sex with other men, and raped her in her home as she was trying to end the relationship in 2018. Combs, through his attorney, “vehemently denies” the accusations.

With staggering speed, Ventura's lawsuit is settled the day after it is filed. The terms of the agreement are kept confidential. “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably," Combs says in a statement. "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Two more women accuse Combs of sexual abuse in lawsuits filed on the eve of the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act , a New York law permitting victims of sexual abuse a one-year window to file civil action regardless of the statute of limitations. The lawsuits, filed by Joi Dickerson and another woman who was not named, allege acts of sexual assault, beatings and forced drugging in the early 1990s by Combs, then a talent director, party promoter and rising figure in New York City’s hip-hop community. Combs' attorneys called the allegations false.

Combs temporarily steps down as chairman of his cable television network, Revolt, because of the wave of sexual abuse allegations. It would be one of several business setbacks for Combs brought on by the lawsuits.

A woman alleges in another lawsuit that in 2003 when she was 17, Combs and two other men raped her. The lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan says she was living in a Detroit suburb and was flown to a New York studio, where she was given drugs and alcohol that made her incapable of consenting to sex, and the men took turns raping her. Combs says in a statement that "I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

A music producer files a lawsuit alleging Combs sexually assaulted him and forced him to have sex with prostitutes. The lawsuit gives a long list of potentially illegal activities dealing with drugs and sex that the producer says he witnessed. A lawyer for Combs calls the allegations “pure fiction.”

Homeland Security Investigations serves search warrants in early morning raids on Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami in what officials tell The Associated Press is a sex-trafficking investigation. Combs was at one of his homes in Miami at the time. His two sons, at his home in Los Angeles, were handcuffed during the search, Combs' attorneys said. Officials did not say whether the raids were prompted by the civil lawsuits, but Combs' attorneys said they believed they were.

Combs’ lawyer calls the raids “a gross use of military-level force” and says Combs is “innocent and will continue to fight” to clear his name. The attorney, Aaron Dyer, says there is "no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”

A lawsuit that names Combs as a co-defendant alleges that his son Christian “King” Combs sexually assaulted a woman working on a yacht chartered by his father. The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court says Sean Combs created the circumstances that led to the assault and paid to cover it up afterward. An attorney for the two men calls the allegations “outrageous.”

In the first major piece of legal pushback from Combs and his team, they file a motion to dismiss several elements of Dickerson's lawsuit because they were not illegal in 1991 when the alleged incidents occurred. While the legal objections are procedural, the filing also slams the “numerous false, offensive, and salacious accusations” in the lawsuit.

Combs asks a federal judge to dismiss the Dec. 6 lawsuit that alleged he and two co-defendants raped a 17-year-old girl from Michigan in a New York recording studio. Again, the objections are procedural — alleging the lawsuit was filed too late under the law — but the court document calls its claims “false and hideous.”

CNN airs video that appears to show Combs attacking Ventura in hotel hallway in 2016. The video closely mirrors an assault described in her lawsuit, which said Combs had already punched her that night, and she was trying to leave the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles when he woke and came after her. In the footage, a man who appears to be Diddy, wearing only a towel, punches Ventura, kicks her, and throws her on to the floor. The lawsuit alleges Combs paid $50,000 to take away the video at the time. Combs' representatives had no immediate comment. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said it hadn’t been presented with a case in the attack depicted in the video. And that even if law enforcement presented a case to prosecutors, the statute of limitations would apply, preventing them from charging Combs, the office said in a statement posted on social media Friday

The Associated Press doesn't typically name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly, as those named here have.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Responds to Lawsuit Against Diddy That Alleges He Groped Man: 'I Don't Know P. Diddy's Life'

Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones claimed in his lawsuit against Diddy that the embattled music mogul introduced him to Cuba Gooding Jr. on a yacht.

p diddy yacht victorious

View this video on YouTube

In an appearance on the PBD Podcast with Patrick Bet-David, actor Cuba Gooding Jr. responded to being mentioned in Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones' assault lawsuit against Diddy .

At around the 1:23:50 point of the podcast, as seen above, Gooding was asked for his thoughts on the allegations against Diddy, especially following the federal raids on two of his homes. "I mean that's crazy, that's the craziest thing I'd ever... Hey, how about me? I wake up in the morning, I turn on The Today Show , 'Actor Cuba Gooding Jr.'—I was like, 'Excuse me?! Pulling me into this?" he said.

The Oscar-winning actor was accused of sexual harassment and assault in Jones' lawsuit. As he claimed in the legal documents, Jones believed Diddy was "grooming him" and intended to pass him along to others. In an alleged January 2023 incident, Jones said he was introduced to Gooding on a yacht and was groped by the actor, who he "forcibly" pushed away. "Mr. Combs had dominion and control over the actions of Cuba Gooding Jr. and failed to step in and stop Cuba Gooding Jr. from sexually assaulting Mr. Jones," the suit alleges.

"I think, whatever he's dealing with... He's on his journey, man," said Gooding. "I can't imagine that he's stupid enough to do whatever he's doing and keep it on his premises. I think that the raid and all of that stuff, only time will tell who was involved, who had been a frequent guest in these places and areas. It's funny, because my lawyers said, 'You know, every outlet in the world wants to talk to you.' And again, I'm not defining myself from some headline in the press, so I stayed quiet."

Gooding acknowledged that there's a picture of him included in the lawsuit, which shows him with his arm around Jones. He said it was framed in the context of the lawsuit to make the photo appear "sordid," but maintained that he did not spend much time on the yacht as it was New Year's Eve and he was hopping to other yachts to say hello to friends.

"I went from one ship, 'Happy New Year,'" he said. "So I hung out with Tyson, next ship there's Drake. This ship had P. Diddy, he had his guy, his videographer. They're listening to music. He says, 'Hey Cuba, you want to hear P. Diddy's new song?' I said, 'Yeah, sure!' Sit down next to him." He said he had photo showing another angle, but said the interaction only happened briefly and he was gone not long after he listened to the track.

"This guy who’s suing him [is] going after the money, man. I’m sure, and by the way, I don’t know P. Diddy’s life. I don’t know what he’s going through," he continued, noting that he's only hung out with Diddy a handful of times. "We were acquaintances, just like I just showed you. Two–three times I’ve seen him." He said he believes he was mentioned in the lawsuit because of other similar lawsuits against him filed in the past.

In 2019, Gooding was arrested on charges of misdemeanor forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree. He was accused of groping a woman at a bar in Times Square. he was indicted on an additional charge later that year, and by August 2020 he was accused by at least 30 women of nonconsensual sexual touching. In April 2022, he pleaded guilty to forcibly touching a woman during an alleged incident at a nightclub in NYC in 2018.

Here's A Breakdown Of Diddy's Legal Troubles

Taiyler S. Mitchell

Billionaire media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has vehemently denied accusations of violence and sexual abuse that have been lobbed at him over the last six months, even as federal agents raided properties linked to him.

“Enough is enough,” the rapper said in a statement in December.

“Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday,” he said. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

But the accusations got harder to deny Friday when CNN published previously unseen footage from 2016, which appears to show Diddy violently assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer-songwriter Cassie Ventura. The disturbing footage corroborated claims she made in a bombshell lawsuit filed against him in November.

The 54-year-old, who has also gone by Puffy or Puff Daddy, settled the lawsuit with Cassie a day after she filed it, but the floodgates were opened. Over the next several months, more accusers filed lawsuits claiming he was violent or sexually abusive. In March, Homeland Security Investigations agents conducted the raids .

The raids and lawsuits, which come amid a broader reckoning in the music industry , add to a long list of legal troubles Diddy has faced over the years.

Here’s a timeline of allegations made against Diddy throughout his career.

1996: Diddy Found Guilty Of Threatening Photographer With Gun

Diddy was found guilty of misdemeanor criminal mischief in 1996 for using a gun to threaten a New York Post photographer, NPR reported .

The incident occurred in 1995 as Gary Miller was taking photos of Diddy’s company cars, according to The New York Times .

Diddy and about 10 of his employees surrounded Miller before they “menaced him with a pistol and seized his film,” according to the Times, which also reported that Diddy denied the accusation.

April 1999: Record Executive Claims Diddy Beat Him Up During Meeting

Record label executive Steve Stoute accused Diddy and others of assaulting him over a dispute involving a music video with rapper Nas in April 1999, according to The Washington Post .

“He punched me in the face, and then he grabbed the phone and bashed me in the head with it,” Stoute said in a May 1999 interview with the Los Angeles Times .

“One minute I’m in the middle of a meeting,” he said, “and the next minute I’m down on the floor and Puffy and his guys are kicking and pounding me. One of them picks up a chair and throws it at me. Then Puffy throws my desk over and they just walk out like nothing happened.”

Diddy faced up to seven years behind bars, but Stout reportedly asked the Manhattan district attorney to drop the charges following an apology from Diddy, according to The New York Times . Though the assault charge was dropped, Diddy reportedly pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to attend one day of anger management classes, according to NPR .

December 1999: Woman Claims Diddy Shot Her In The Face At NYC Nightclub

Amid a Dec. 27, 1999, shooting at a New York City nightclub, a bullet hit Natania Reuben in her face . Reuben claimed she saw Diddy and a rapper named Shyne holding a gun at the time of the shooting. Despite a jury acquitting Diddy in 2001, Reuben has insisted Diddy is the person who shot her.

“I would absolutely, unequivocally like the case reopened. It needs to be reopened,” Reuben told NewsNation in March . “And the saddest part to me is, had people taken what I said more seriously and listened more intently, 24 years worth of people probably would not have had to suffer.”

Shyne served time for the shooting after being convicted of multiple charges, including first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Shyne argued he had fired his gun into the air during the conflict, not at Reuben. Reuben has maintained that Shyne is not responsible for her facial injury.

March 2001: TV Host Says Diddy And His Entourage Attacked Him After An Interview

Roger Mills, host of a celebrity TV show, sued Diddy in March 2001, alleging the media mogul and his entourage attacked him and broke his camera following an interview in 1999, Billboard reported .

When Mills asked Diddy about rumors that he was involved in the 1997 killing of rapper Notorious B.I.G., the interview immediately concluded, according to Billboard.

In February 2004, a jury found Diddy not guilty, according to Today .

March 2007: Partygoer Says Diddy Punched Him And Girlfriend At Los Angeles Nightclub

In a March 2007 lawsuit, a man named Gerard Rechnitzer accused Diddy of punching him and pushing his girlfriend at a February 2007 party at Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, according to CBS News . The lawsuit was settled in March 2008, and the terms were not disclosed, according to TMZ .

Sean "Diddy" Combs watches a football game between UCLA and Washington State on Nov. 14, 2015, in Pasadena, California. His son played for UCLA.

June 2015: Diddy Avoids Charge After Claim That He Hit UCLA Coach With Kettlebell

In June 2015, when Diddy’s son Justin Combs was a defensive back for UCLA’s football team , Diddy was arrested for throwing a kettlebell at Sal Alosi, the strength and conditioning coach for UCLA. He was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon. However, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office opted not to press charges against Diddy, according to Variety . The DA’s office referred the case to the city attorney’s office on misdemeanor charges but said “it’s unlikely that charges will be filed” against him, according to NBC News .

May 2017: Diddy’s Former Chef Says She Was Forced To Work Long Hours, Serve Post-Sex Meals

In May 2017, Cindy Rueda, a former personal chef for Diddy, accused him of sexual harassment while she worked for him from April 2015 to May 2016, according to KNBC-TV in Los Angeles .

Rueda said she was regularly forced to provide food for Diddy and his guests “immediately following sexual activity,” had unwillingly seen him and others naked or engaged in sexual activity, and had been asked sex-based questions. She claimed she was forced to work long hours without overtime pay, sometimes from 9 a.m. to well past 1 a.m.

The two settled the lawsuit in February 2019, and the terms were not disclosed, according to KNBC.

September 2022: Producer Claims Diddy Or His Son Is Behind A Man’s Disappearance

Music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones asserted in court documents that Diddy or his son, Justin, shot a 30-year-old friend of Justin, named G, twice inside a bathroom at Chalice Recording Studio in Los Angeles in September 2022, HuffPost reported . Lil Rod also said G disappeared after the shooting.

Lil Rod’s account of the shooting contrasts with a KCAL-TV report citing the police around the time of the shooting. The report, which does not name the individuals involved, said the victim was shot outside.

Attorney Shawn Holley denied Diddy’s or his son’s involvement in the shooting.

“Neither Sean nor Justin were in the vicinity or even aware of what had occurred until afterwards. So I don’t think either of them were interviewed [by police],” Holley said in a March statement to NBC News .

Lil Rod later accused Diddy of orchestrating a cover-up of the shooting.

November 2023: Cassie Files Damning Sexual Assault And Abuse Lawsuit

“Me & U” singer Cassie (Casandra Elizabeth Ventura) filed a 35-page complaint against the media mogul in New York on Nov. 16. The two dated from 2007 to 2018 , starting their relationship when she was 19 and he was 37.

Cassie said Diddy raped her, forced her to engage in sex acts with male sex workers and regularly beat her during their relationship. She accused him of blowing up the car of rapper and producer Kid Cudi , who reportedly had a romantic interest in Cassie at one point. Cassie also said Diddy pushed her to abuse substances and that he dangled one of her friends over a balcony.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Tiffany Red, a friend of Cassie, corroborated the claims in Cassie’s suit, HuffPost previously reported . Red was briefly alluded to in the lawsuit.

Cassie and Sean "Diddy" Combs leave the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 1, 2017.

November 2023: Cassie And Diddy Quietly Settle Lawsuit

Cassie and Diddy settled her lawsuit against him the day after it was filed .

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Cassie said in a statement.

Her attorney Douglas Wigdor added: “I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so.”

Diddy also released a statement announcing the settlement of the case:

“I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love,” he said.

Cassie’s lawsuit seemingly kicked off a few other suits against the hip-hop star.

November 2023: Joi Dickerson-Neal Accuses Diddy Of Rape And Showing Video Of It To Others

On Thanksgiving Day in 2023, Joi Dickerson-Neal accused Diddy of drugging her and raping her in 1991. At the time, she was a student at Syracuse University and he was a talent director at Uptown Records, USA Today reported . She said Diddy had shown recorded footage of the rape to others, including Davante Swing, a member of the R&B group Jodeci. Swing told Dickerson-Neal that “everyone” had seen the revenge porn, according to USA Today.

Diddy’s legal team pushed back against Dickerson-Neal’s claims in court, arguing that laws regarding the incident did not exist at the time. They’ve asked that the revenge porn and human trafficking parts of the case be dismissed with prejudice, meaning it can’t be refiled.

November 2023: A Jane Doe Accuses Diddy Of Raping Her Before Singer Also Rapes Her

In another lawsuit filed on Thanksgiving, an unnamed woman accused Diddy and singer Aaron Hall of raping her at Hall’s home, either in 1990 or 1991.

“While at Hall’s apartment, Jane Doe was offered more drinks and was coerced into having sex with Combs,” the filing says, according to Rolling Stone . “After Combs finished doing his business, Jane Doe laid in bed, shocked and traumatized. As she was in the process of getting dressed, Hall barged into the room, pinned her down and forced Jane Doe to have sex with him.”

Doe also said Diddy came to her home within the following days to choke and assault her, according to Rolling Stone.

December 2023: Another Jane Doe Says Diddy And Others Sex Trafficked Her At Age 17

A woman referred to as Jane Doe filed a lawsuit claiming that Diddy, former Bad Boy Records President Harve Pierre and an unnamed man “gang raped” and “sex trafficked” her in 2003 when she was a 17-year-old high schooler, HuffPost reported . In 2003, Diddy was 34.

She claimed she met Pierre at a lounge in Detroit, was flown out to Daddy’s House Recording Studio in New York City, which Diddy owned, and was given “copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.”

On May 10, 2024, Diddy’s legal team asked a federal judge to dismiss the case with prejudice.

“Mr. Combs and his companies categorically deny Plaintiff’s decades-old tale against them, which has caused incalculable damage to their reputations and business standing before any evidence has been presented,” the filing said, according to The Associated Press . “Plaintiff cannot allege what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, but miraculously remembers other salacious details, despite her alleged incapacitated condition.”

February 2024: Producer Says Diddy Sexually Harassed Him And Is Running A Racket

Lil Rod filed a lawsuit against Diddy and several associated companies in February, accusing Diddy of sexual harassment, grooming, running a racketeering enterprise and more.

“Throughout his time with Mr. Combs, Mr. Jones witnessed, experienced, and endured many things that went far beyond his role as a Producer on the Love album,” the 73-page complaint says. “Mr. Combs required Mr. Jones to record him constantly. … As a result, Mr. Jones has secured hundreds of hours of footage and audio records of Mr. Combs, his staff, and his guests engaging in serious illegal activity.”

The Los Angeles home of Sean "Diddy" Combs is seen in an aerial view during a raid by federal law enforcement agents on March 25.

March 2024: Homeland Security Conducts Bicoastal Raids

The Department of Homeland Security’s investigation division raided several homes linked to Diddy in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25, HuffPost reported .

According to CBS News reporter Nicole Sganga , who cited unnamed officials, the raids may be linked to a sex trafficking investigation. Details about the raid have not yet been released.

An attorney for Diddy, Aaron Dyer, condemned the raid the following day.

“[T]here was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” Dyer told E! News . “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities.”

“This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits,” added Dyer.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sean “Diddy” Combs has apologized after newly released video showed him beating his former singing protege and girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

The video was aired by CNN Friday six months after the R&B singer filed a lawsuit that set off a wave of similar cases and public allegations against one of the most influential music moguls of the past three decades.

Here is a look at the key events that have unfolded since late last year.

NOVEMBER 16, 2023

NOVEMBER 17, 2023

With staggering speed, Ventura's lawsuit is settled the day after it is filed. The terms of the agreement are kept confidential. “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably," Combs says in a statement. "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

NOVEMBER 23, 2023

Two more women accuse Combs of sexual abuse in lawsuits filed on the eve of the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act , a New York law permitting victims of sexual abuse a one-year window to file civil action regardless of the statute of limitations. The lawsuits, filed by Joi Dickerson and another woman who was not named, allege acts of sexual assault, beatings and forced drugging in the early 1990s by Combs, then a talent director, party promoter and rising figure in New York City’s hip-hop community. Combs' attorneys called the allegations false.

NOVEMBER 28, 2023

Combs temporarily steps down as chairman of his cable television network, Revolt, because of the wave of sexual abuse allegations. It would be one of several business setbacks for Combs brought on by the lawsuits.

DECEMBER 6, 2023

A woman alleges in another lawsuit that in 2003 when she was 17, Combs and two other men raped her. The lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan says she was living in a Detroit suburb and was flown to a New York studio, where she was given drugs and alcohol that made her incapable of consenting to sex, and the men took turns raping her.

The same day, Combs posts a statement on Instagram broadly denying all the allegations in the mounting series of lawsuits. “I did not do any of the awful things being alleged,” the post says. "I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

FEBRUARY 26, 2024

A music producer files a lawsuit alleging Combs sexually assaulted him and forced him to have sex with prostitutes. The lawsuit gives a long list of potentially illegal activities dealing with drugs and sex that the producer says he witnessed. A lawyer for Combs calls the allegations “pure fiction.”

March 25, 2024

Homeland Security Investigations serves search warrants in early morning raids on Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami in what officials tell The Associated Press is a sex-trafficking investigation. Combs was at one of his homes in Miami at the time. His two sons, at his home in Los Angeles, were handcuffed during the search, Combs' attorneys said. Officials did not say whether the raids were prompted by the civil lawsuits, but Combs' attorneys said they believed they were.

MARCH 26, 2024

Combs’ lawyer calls the raids “a gross use of military-level force” and says Combs is “innocent and will continue to fight” to clear his name. The attorney, Aaron Dyer, says there is "no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”

APRIL 4, 2024

A lawsuit that names Combs as a co-defendant alleges that his son Christian “King” Combs sexually assaulted a woman working on a yacht chartered by his father. The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court says Sean Combs created the circumstances that led to the assault and paid to cover it up afterward. An attorney for the two men calls the allegations “outrageous.”

APRIL 26, 2024

In the first major piece of legal pushback from Combs and his team, they file a motion to dismiss several elements of Dickerson's lawsuit because they were not illegal in 1991 when the alleged incidents occurred. While the legal objections are procedural, the filing also slams the “numerous false, offensive, and salacious accusations” in the lawsuit.

MAY 10, 2024

Combs asks a federal judge to dismiss the Dec. 6 lawsuit that alleged he and two co-defendants raped a 17-year-old girl from Michigan in a New York recording studio. Again, the objections are procedural — alleging the lawsuit was filed too late under the law — but the court document calls its claims “false and hideous.”

May 17, 2024

CNN airs video that shows Combs attacking Ventura in hotel hallway in 2016.

And that even if law enforcement presented a case to prosecutors, the statute of limitations would apply, preventing them from charging Combs, the office said in a statement posted on social media.

MAY 19, 2024

Combs posts a video on Instagram and Facebook apologizing for the assault on Ventura. It's his first real acknowledgement of wrongdoing since the recent stream of allegations began.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable," Combs says. “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry.”

The Associated Press doesn't typically name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly, as those named here have.

Diddy's son Christian 'King' Combs releases 50 Cent diss track, references federal raids

p diddy yacht victorious

Diss tracks are all the rage, and the latest installment comes from Sean "Diddy" Combs ' son Christian "King" Combs .

On Sunday night, King Combs released a song titled " Pick a Side ," which references federal agents' raid of Diddy's two homes in March and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson 's continuous social media posts on the Bad Boy Entertainment founder's recent legal trouble.

"Police raid the crib like they think we selling crack, but we out here selling tracks / Multimillion dollar plaques," the 26-year-old raps in one verse. In another verse referencing the raid, he raps: "Knock these doors down like them feddy boys running both our cribs / Too bad they ain't know we bought the one next door cause that's the one they missed."

Diverting his attention to 50 Cent, King Combs raps, "When all they had was 50 Cent who put this city on the map? Stop lyin'.

"Pops been hated on by many men and that's fine/ They gon' try to stop these M's and they gon' die tryin'," he continues, citing 50 Cent's song "Many Men" and album "Get Rich or Die Tryin.'"

How 50 Cent responded to King Combs' diss

50 Cent was quick to respond on Instagram with sarcasm, captioning one photo of King Combs and Diddy, "I feel so threatened by the things Christian is saying on his record. I'm afraid for my life, please don't hurt me guys. I never mentioned or posted anything about puffy's kids because KEEFE D said he killed 2Pac. LOL."

The latter half referred to Duane "Keffe D" Davis , who was indicted by a Nevada grand jury in September for the 1996 drive-by shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur; rumors have circulated for decades that Diddy was responsible for orchestrating the Las Vegas shooting.

In another post , the "21 Questions" rapper wrote: "Now why would you say some(thing) like this 🤦when you know the FEDS are investigating. IS YOU STUPID OR IS YOU DUMB? LOL."

He followed with yet another Instagram post , this time with screenshots of media coverage, and wrote, "I really don’t understand why they want to drug women, 🤷🏽‍♂️if she can’t remember how good it was the next morning 😳How do you connect ?"

USA TODAY reached out to reps for 50 Cent and Combs.

50 Cent and Diddy have had a decades-long feud, with the "Power" producer alleging he is doing a documentary on the Bad Boy rapper's sexual assault allegations called "Diddy Do It?"

King Combs accused of sexual assault in April lawsuit

King Combs' diss track referencing the Combs family's legal trouble comes a month after the 26-year-old was accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment and causing emotional distress in a lawsuit filed by Grace O'Marcaigh.

O'Marcaigh alleged King sexually assaulted her in late December 2022, according to filings from Los Angeles County Superior Court obtained by  NBC News  and  Rolling Stone . O'Marcaigh was working as a steward on the yacht chartered by the Combs family.

The alleged assault occurred days before Diddy put on a star-studded New Year's Eve yacht party.

The lawyer for O'Marcaigh, Tyrone Blackburn, is also representing  Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones , a producer on Diddy's latest album who accused the music mogul of sexual assault and harassment in a February lawsuit.

In a statement shared with USA TODAY in April, Aaron Dyer, the attorney for both the Combses , addressed the allegations leveled by O'Marcaigh.

“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served. This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn," Dyer said.

King was also named in that lawsuit filed last month by Lil Rod. According to the complaint, Lil Rod witnessed the rapper "drugging and sexually assaulting a woman."

Diddy's home raided amid several sexual assault lawsuits

In addition to King's lawsuit, Diddy has faced several has faced several legal actions in recent months, including suits by ex-girlfriend  Cassie , "The Love Album" producer  Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones Jr. and a Jane Doe alleging she was gang-raped when she was 17 by the music mogul and  former Bad Boy Entertainment executive Harve Pierre .

He has denied all the allegations.

Federal officials raided Diddy's Los Angeles home in March, according to  Rolling Stone  and local Los Angeles news station  Fox 11 , amid  lawsuits  filed against him from accusers alleging the rapper and music mogul has  raped  or  sexually assaulted  them. Agents also searched Combs' Miami residence, Rolling Stone,  NBC News  and  The Associated Press  reported.

When reached for comment regarding the case, a Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson said in a statement to USA TODAY that "Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available."

Cassie says in a lawsuit that Combs subjected her to years of abuse, including beatings and rape. Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, signed to Combs’ label in 2005, and the two were on-again-off-again romantic partners for more than a decade starting in 2007.

NOVEMBER 17, 2023

With staggering speed, Ventura’s lawsuit is settled the day after it is filed. The terms of the agreement are kept confidential. “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably,” Combs says in a statement. “I wish Cassie and her family all the best.

Combs’ attorneys called the allegations false.

“I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

His two sons, at his home in Los Angeles, were handcuffed during the search, Combs’ attorneys said. Officials did not say whether the raids were prompted by the civil lawsuits, but Combs’ attorneys said they believed they were.

MARCH 26, 2024

Combs’ lawyer calls the raids “a gross use of military-level force” and says Combs is “innocent and will continue to fight” to clear his name. The attorney, Aaron Dyer, says there is “no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”

In the first major piece of legal pushback from Combs and his team, they file a motion to dismiss several elements of Dickerson’s lawsuit because they were not illegal in 1991 when the alleged incidents occurred.

Combs’ representatives had no immediate comment.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said it hadn’t been presented with a case in the attack depicted in the video. And that even if law enforcement presented a case to prosecutors, the statute of limitations would apply, preventing them from charging Combs, the office said in a statement posted on social media.

MAY 19, 2024

Combs posts a video on Instagram and Facebook apologizing for the assault on Ventura. It’s his first real acknowledgement of wrongdoing since the recent stream of allegations began.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable,” Combs says. “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry.”

The Associated Press doesn’t typically name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly, as those named here have.

50 Cent trolls Diddy’s son King Combs for diss track that refers to feds’ raids of homes

50 Cent is trolling Christian “King” Combs, the son of embattled business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, and rehashing a slew of allegations against him and his father. The impetus for Fitty’s latest social-media rant? King released a diss track trashing him amid all three rappers’ legal woes .

King, one of Combs’ children with late girlfriend Kim Porter, released “Pick a Side” on Sunday to apparently defend his father and badmouth his critics, targeting those who “talk down the family name” or distance themselves from the influential Bad Boy Entertainment co-founder by using the viral put-down “No Diddy.” He took aim at 50 Cent, who through his infamous trolling was also entangled in the fallout from the bombshell lawsuits against Combs over the last few months.

50 Cent files defamation lawsuit against ex Daphne Joy after rape allegation

Rapper 50 Cent has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex Daphne Joy, who accused him last month of rape after he trolled her for being labeled a sex worker.

May 8, 2024

The explicit track produced by DJ Akademiks appears to deny sex-trafficking allegations swirling around King’s family and also refers to the raids of Diddy’s homes in the Los Angeles neighborhood Holmby Hills and Miami in March — when Homeland Security Investigations officials executed search warrants at the residences stemming from an ongoing sex-trafficking investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York. (King and his half-brother Justin Dior Combs were briefly detained at the Holmby Hills residence but were not arrested. Combs and his sons have denied any wrongdoing.)

“Police raid the crib like they think we selling crack but we out here selling tracks / Multimillion-dollar plaques / Rather put this s— on wax / All that gossip s— is whack when all they had was 50 Cent / Who put this city on the map? / Stop lying,” King raps on the track. Later he adds, “He must think we f— this b— / Knock them walls down like when them feddy boys raiding both of our cribs / Too bad they ain’t know we bought the one next door / ‘Cause that’s the one they missed.”

The 26-year-old opens the track by referring to this period as “war time.” Coincidentally, diss tracks are running rampant in the hip-hop community as of late, particularly between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar and Shaquille O’Neal’s recent dig at fellow former athlete and host Shannon Sharpe. But King focused on his issues with fair-weather fans and chatter spreading online, calling out those “hating ‘cause we rich” and rapping briefly about 50 Cent, who jumped on the “No Diddy” bandwagon.

Representatives for the Combses did not immediately respond Monday to The Times’ requests for comment.

What to know about the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs lawsuits, raids

Music mogul and rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who’s facing multiple lawsuits, is the subject of a sweeping sex trafficking probe that resulted in a federal raid of his L.A. and Miami homes.

May 17, 2024

Although he didn’t respond with a track of his own — at least not yet anyway — 50 Cent countered with a series of Instagram posts and highlighted an explicit lyric from “Pick a Side” (referring to fellatio) that has gone viral.

“I feel so threatened by the things Christian is saying on his record. I’m afraid for my life, please don’t hurt me guys. I never mentioned or posted anything about puffy’s kids 😳because KEEFE D said he killed 2Pac 🤷🏽‍♂️ LOL,” he wrote Sunday night on Instagram, sharing a photo of the Combses performing together and also referring to murder suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ allegation that Diddy was involved in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder. He followed up that post with a clip from the slain rapper’s 1992 crime drama “Juice.”

Sean Combs’ son Christian accused of sexual assault on yacht that Diddy chartered

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a co-defendant in a sexual assault lawsuit against son Christian Combs, who is accused of attacking a woman on a yacht his father leased.

April 5, 2024

The G-Unit emcee, real name Curtis Jackson, also called back to a sexual assault allegation made against King from a lawsuit brought by a former superyacht steward , who claims the young rapper drugged and sexually assaulted her aboard a ship his father chartered in late December 2022.

“Damn @kingcombs that what you told Grace O’Marcaigh on that boat huh, gave her the puffy juice with that special sauce in it. LOL BOY OH BOY! BAD BOY FOR LIFE!” he wrote.

Continuing his roast, Fitty Cent posted the audio clip from the song alluding to the raids.

“Now why would you say some s— like this 🤦when you know the FEDS are investigating. IS YOU STUPID OR IS YOU DUMB? LOL,” the “In da Club” and “P.I.M.P.” rapper wrote early Monday. Despite precedents of potentially incriminating song lyrics being protected as free speech and artistic expression under the 1st Amendment, lyrics can be submitted into evidence during a criminal trial, as seen i n the Georgia case against YSL rapper Young Thug . Hip-hop lyrics in particular have been singled out in several cases, posing a potential issue for the Combs family if what King raps about the raids is true.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent continued his trolling Monday in a fifth Instagram post that included several images of news stories about the diss track, and he made more salacious allegations about the family.

A representative for 50 Cent did not immediately respond Monday to The Times’ request for comment.

The discord between the rappers bubbled up just days after Diddy’s legal team on Friday filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit against him, former Bad Boy executive Harve Pierre and a third unidentified person that alleged the men raped a 17-year-old girl in a New York music studio in 2003.

Combs’ lawyer, Jonathan Davis, called the suit a “stunt” that was “intended to prominently showcase a baseless and time barred claim” and said it “fails to state any viable claim,” noting that the plaintiff — identified only as Jane Doe in the filing — “cannot allege what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, yet purports to miraculously recall the most prurient details with specificity,” according to the motion, which was filed Friday in a New York federal court and reviewed Monday by The Times.

The woman’s lawsuit was initially filed in December 2023 and amended in March. Diddy and his companies “categorically deny” the woman’s allegations against them and said that they “already caused incalculable damage to the reputation and business standing” of the businessman and his co-defendants.
