Motor Yacht

Luxury motor yacht Magic, built in 2004 by American shipyard Northern Marine, sees a contemporary departure for the company who usually builds heavy, trawler-style vessels. With a fibreglass hull and superstructure she features interior and exterior design by Setzer Design Group. This elegant vessel measures 39.62 metres and can accommodate up to 10 guests.

Motor yacht Magic was the largest built by Northern Marine at her launch although she has since been succeeded by the 46 metre Lia Fail. Owners Merlin and Carolyn Hanson requested she be created to reflect a high-speed vessel with a displacement hull easily used in shallow waters. To accommodate this request the luxury vessel was designed with a 6' 10" shallow draft ideal for island cruising, and she is powered by MTU 12V-2000's with 1480 horsepower that ensure she is both economical and high-performing.

The super yacht is spread over three decks and her layout ensures extensive space is created for all staterooms as well as focusing on generous inside and outdoor public areas. The interior is a reflection of the traditional yachts of the 1930s, using timeless details like fluted columns and intricate mouldings to set-off satin-finished raised-panel mahogany. The interior design is highly personalized, featuring significant input by Carolyn Hanson and a handpicked group of stylists.

On the main deck can be found a large sheltered aft deck lounge that connects to the main salon through sliding glass doors. The formal dining salon is also located on this level, serviced by a large and well-equipped gourmet galley. Besides the guest accommodation, the lower deck also houses a guest laundry room and a large walk-in luggage locker tucked neatly beneath the curved staircase descending from the main-deck foyer.

Designed with entertainment in mind, motor yacht Magic’s exterior spaces are a highlight of her design. Particularly noteworthy is the open sun deck fitted with bar/grill area and a large spa tub. The bridge deck is accessed via a stairway that delivers guests to a lobby equipped with a dayhead and dumbwaiter service area. Aft can be found the bridge deck lounge; a covered space boasting lounging cushions and teak decking.

Amongst her five cabins are an indulgent owner’s suite; two King staterooms; one Queen stateroom; and one double/twin cabin. Located forward on the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite features a generous walk-in dressing room, laundry room, and a private bathroom with Jacuzzi. A neat office connects the suite to the entrance lobby. The two King staterooms are located aft on the lower deck, while the two remaining guest suites are found forward. Each includes marble en suite baths.

Featuring a dedicated crew, Magic cruises comfortably at 15 knots while her crew of seven under the direction of Captain Dave Ober ensure the needs of every guest are met.

MAGIC 130 has an inviting interior featuring fine African and Honduran mahogany with marble and granite throughout. The main salon has an elegant décor of neutral soft furnishings comfortably placed for optimum relaxation; light carpeting and large windows provide a spacious feel, while custom carved mouldings add a high-quality finish to space. Separate and forward of the salon is the formal dining area. M/Y MAGIC boasts a further lounge space in the sky-lounge above with plenty of seating to relax and unwind.

Exterior living on M/Y MAGIC is generous on 3 decks. The shaded aft deck can be accessed from the main salon and offers 2 sofas and 2 wicker chaise lounges, a perfect spot to sit back with a book or head down the adjacent swim platform to enjoy the water toys. Above the main deck, the sky lounge opens onto another spacious aft deck boasting further relaxing seating and an alfresco dining option. The flybridge on M/Y MAGIC offers 2 cocktail-style alfresco tables with optional umbrellas, a BBQ and Spa Pool tub.

Motor Yacht MAGIC has a beam of 8.5 meters (28ft) and a draft of 2.13 meters (7ft). M/Y MAGIC has great fuel economy with an average burn of 35 gallons per hour at cruising speeds of 11 knots and 75 gallons per hour at maximum speeds of 14 knots.

2013 Refit Includes:

The flybridge has been re-configured to accommodate additional seating, a forward 5-person spa, an outdoor cinema, re-designed arch, mast, and hardtop structures, and an added day head. The bow deck had new seating areas with interchangeable dining and sun lounging configurations installed. Also a hydraulically powered beach club transformer, custom made in stainless steel, was fitted to the yacht's transom. This has drastically increased the size of the swim platform, while also serving as a "sport deck," extendable passarelle, dive platform, swim ladder, and jet-ski dock.

When you choose the 8 or 7 hour trips, we will take you to Pine Key Island. This island is only accessible by boat. It is truly one of the most unique islands in Florida that is enjoyed EXCLUSIVELY by boaters. A beautiful white sand beach and lush greenery provide the perfect backdrop for this tropical destination.

Guests enjoy swimming, relaxing, and socializing with friends on the island and kids of all ages love the huge waterslide (weekends only)! A Tiki Bar is at the center of the action with live DJs and plenty of dancing, drinks, and food. With all it has to offer, Pine Key in Tampa Bay is the perfect playground for visitors of all ages! There are sand volleyball courts, a wooded area with trails, and beaches all the way around the 11-acre island. This is one of the most unique experiences in all of metro Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater and again, you can only get there by boat… and even better, on a luxury yacht!

Regardless of the length of your trip, you will have access to a large floating “Lily Pad” for swimming safely behind the boat. This is included in all trips and it’s a favorite activity for all ages.

Floating "Lily Pad"

Regardless of the length of your trip, you will have access to a large floating “Lily Pad” for swimming safely behind the boat. This floating foam island allows you to rest, kick-back, tan, hang out, or lounge… It is the ultimate water playground for the entire family!

Things to Keep in Mind:

• Per Federal US Coast Guard Regulations, maximum 13 passengers allowed. No exceptions will be made.
• The Yacht has surround system throughout, you can stream your favorite playlist from your i- phone.
• This vessel comes with life jackets, emergency and first aid kits. If you have known allergies or medical requirements, please bring medication in the event of an emergency.
• Your day begins at the time stated in your signed Charter Agreement. If you are late to the dock, we will not adjust the duration of the trip, we must follow the Charter Agreement.
• You can bring your own alcohol and food.
• Children are allowed on board and are counted as a passenger.
• Shoes must be removed before entering the yacht. Barefoot or socks but no shoes allowed.
• 7% tax and 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your total.
• We require 50% down to secure the date and the balance is due 20 days prior to your trip.
• For charters over $5K a wire transfer is required.

What to Bring:

• You can bring food or beverage items but keep in mind that we offer catering and private chef experiences that elevate your charter experience to the next level.
• Bring a towels if you would like to swim.
• We do not provide you with snorkeling equipment.

What Not to Bring:

• Chocolate of any kind.
• Confetti cannons or glitter of any kind are prohibited.
• Smoking is not allowed, vaping only.
• Shoes must be removed before entering the yacht.
• Parking is very limited at the marina, please plan accordingly. Only 2 vehicles allowed.

With his first sail boat, he started leading diving expeditions when he decided to pursue a life that would allow him to live full-time on sea. He sailed through Chile´s southern shores, all the way up north to Mexico and the Caribbean where he has spend the last fifteen years. In 2013 Christian has found his new paradise and home - the islads of the Bahamas. Other than sailing and travelling, Christian has got a passion for fitness, yoga and healthy food. As the skipper of yacht MAGIC LIFE, with around 45.000 sea miles, Christian is a well-experienced sailor who would love to take you to the most beautiful islands of the Bahamas.

Coming from rural Australia, Evie´s passion was always to travel the world and learn cooking skills and dishes from different cultures. This has taken her from Italy, Austria and Spain to India and Thailand and brought her here to The Bahamas. This travel is reflected in the wide range of food she offers. Evie presents food that is wholesome and healthy, priding herself in nutrition. She loves to be creative and makes sure this always comes across in her food. After a season working on a yacht in the Mediterranean, She can´t wait to be working out at sea again and looks forward to welcoming you onboard the MAGIC LIFE.

What a great cruise aboard Magic Bus!!! I cannot say enough good things about Peter and his abilities. He was very professional when required to perform his duties but also became part of the ´Impetuous family´ when off duty. Everyone on-board loved having Peter and Taylor as our captain and mate. They made the trip even more enjoyable. The ´Bus´ fitted our needs perfectly. We rafted Impetuous on the port side which enabled the crew to be together in the evenings. Perfect set-up. When you’re Magic Johnson, a simple European getaway just won’t do. You have to take in the continent by boat.

The NBA legend and entrepreneur is currently enjoying some time cruising around the Mediterranean onboard the Aquila , a 281-foot superyacht . And the Lakers great and his wife Cookie have invited along a star-studded group of pals, including Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool J, to join in on the experience.

Magic, who TMZ says likes to spend a month across the Atlantic each summer, has gone all out for his latest vacation. The Aquila is the largest boat built in the US since the 1930s, according to its Burgess charter listing . Originally developed by Derektor in 2010, the vessel sailed under the name Cakewalk until it was sold and completely refitted in 2016. The renewed, four-deck yacht has even more space from which its passengers can gaze upon cities like Corfu, Capri and Cervo, and is perfect for entertaining a one very large man and his family and friends.

The yacht has a massive owner’s suite with a massage room, salon and private deck that overlooks the bow, along with six other spacious guest suites. There’s also a cinema room, gym, two more massage rooms. When it comes time for entertaining, there’s a saloon called the London Bar, a beach club at sea level and a dedicated party deck with its own DJ booth, AV system and smoke machine. The interior’s pièce de résistance, though, is a 36-foot “waterfall” chandelier that stretches from the sun deck to the lower deck.

Other amenities on the Aquila include a limousine tender, a deck jacuzzi, aquapark, trampoline and all the water toys you could ever want (think: jet skis, kayaks and wakeboards). The yacht, which has a 50-foot beam, is also manned by a crew of 28. It’s powered by two 3,306 hp MTU engine and has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

As you may have guessed, a boat like this doesn’t come cheap. The superyacht is reportedly worth over $150 million . Johnson is only chartering the vessel, but even that will set him back nearly €1 million (or about $1.2 million) a week, according to the listing. One thing is clear: No. 32 loves spending time on the Aquila . In fact, this isn’t his first time he’s rented the vessel. He also took it out on vacation back in 2019, according to TMZ . And honestly, who can blame him?
