Alen 55 Yacht is a Weekend Cruiser’s Dream Boat

This 55-foot cruiser yacht is like a boutique hotel room on the water.  The Alen 55 Yacht is a high-design take on the traditional center-console boat, featuring elegant teak lining, leather interior wall panels and lacquered surfaces inside. With the center-console design, a deep bulwark walkway allows safe and easy access around the front and back of the boat, so passengers up front are “in” the boat, not “on” the boat at cruising speed.  Its built to seat eight comfortably upstairs, with room below for passengers to sleep soundly overnight.

The Alen 55 Yacht is powered by a pair of 800hp Volvo engines, capable of carrying pilot and passengers to a cruising speed of 30 knots with 35 knot bursts as needed.  This speed isn’t intended just for fun, but to traverse long distances for weekend cruises around the waterways of your choice.  We’re partial to the Antilles, but we’ll leave that part up to you.

The arrival and pricing of the Alen 55 Yacht is to be decided , and the pricing will largely depend on just how deep you wish to go with customizations.  At its stock level, this is a dreamy weekender boat, both the source of a passenger’s enjoyment and the place they rest their head at the end of the evening.  All that horsepower, teak and legroom is just the icing on the cake.

New Alenyacht superyacht tender Alen 55

Following a successful debut in September, the second Alen 55 is set to be delivered to the owners of the 56m Perini Navi sailing yacht Panthalassa , replacing their former chase boat, an Alen 42.

Built in composite, this elegant 16.8m chase boat made her first public appearance during the latest Festival de la Plaisance of Cannes in September. Her timeless design is reminiscent her previous smaller sister, the Alen 42, which has had fantastic success at Alenyacht with more than 20 hulls delivered today.

The four extra metres of this new version offers more space and comfort on the deck, and also inside where you can find a double and a twin cabin plus a lounge area and a bathroom.

Powered in standard by twin 800hp Volvo Penta engines, the Alen 55 reaches the same level of performance as her previous sister, with a top speed of 34 knots and a range of 250 nautical miles at the cruising speed of 28 knots.

All Alenyachts are fully customisable. The first Alen 55 was delivered this summer, and Panthalassa 's will be delivered before the end of the year. The hull No 3 and No 4 are also ordered and scheduled for a delivery in 2014.

Each Alen 55 is custom built to order for the individual client. From the color of the hull & superstructure, entertainment & navigation equipment, down to the interior layout & décor. Construction can be completed in 6-8 months and delivery can take place anywhere in the world. Having experienced the Alen 55 first hand, nothing comes close to the quality to value ratio that you find onboard. She is best in class both in style, design, & performance. Sociable, safe and stylish. The yacht’s timeless, traditional design has built-in practicality. Her center console, walk around deck, and deep bulwarks create a safe, spacious environment where guests are ‘in’ rather than ‘on’ the deck. Whether they are at the helm, cooking or simply relaxing, everyone can be together. Up to 8 guests can comfortably sit at the extending table, near the open kitchen. At the shaded helm, the controls include the latest navigation equipment and a button to operate the hidden, custom-made anchor mechanism. Behind the aft sunbed, the hydraulic gangway also doubles as a convenient swim ladder. ‘Intelligent inspiration’ sums up the design of the yacht’s interior, which can be customized to the owner’s requirements. A crew cabin or extra bedroom can be included, the lounge sofa converts into a double berth and the cabins have generous storage space. Teak flooring, leather wall panels, and lacquered surfaces produce a warm, natural ambiance.

Walkthrough

The Alen 55 is powered by twin Volvo 800s which push her to a top speed just under 33 knots (Optional IPS 800 Volvo D11 600hp achieving 35 knots). At 1,800rpms she is cruising at 24 knots, and at 2,000rpms she’s smooth at 27knots. She is the perfect combination of power & grace all done with the comfort of a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer. She is easily recognizable by her high bulwarks & forward carrying beam giving her a masculine profile. Teak decks & cap rail soften her looks giving it almost a classic feel. What I love about the design is that it is extremely safe for families and children. The helm gives great visibility with a 360degree view allowing ease of maneuvering. Aft of the helm is a lounge/dining area complete with wet bar followed by sunpads. The open transom has steps leading to a spacious swim platform making boarding easy.  Continuing below deck there are two layouts available. One has a large open cabin stretching towards the bow. This space can alternatively be utilized as a lounge area illuminated by a coach roof strip skylight with wraparound seating. A two-cabin option can also be specified offering a full double berth. There is a head to port complete with rain shower and teak flooring. Amidships is a snug secondary cabin with transverse single berths, a second head with full standing headroom and two handing lockers & separate climate-controlled zone. The headroom throughout the entire interior is close to 7’ so very roomy and not just an afterthought like you find on some of these dayboats. The engine room holds twin Volvo 800s and the Seakeeper gyro system yet still offers space to move around. There is also a Besenzoni passerelle & hidden deck shower with hot water. Again, no detail has been overlooked. The Alen 55 is an accomplished performer with a composite, AIREX cored construction giving her a displacement of 21 tonnes, and her tanks give her enough fuel for a 250-nautical mile range at 28 knots which is her ideal cruise speed.  The breakthrough in terms of concept, quality and unique style that distinguished the Alen 42, has now been taken to new heights with the Alen 55. With a center console and walkaround deck, the Alen 55 is comfortable, safe and easy to operate without the need of crew. Live life outside is the spirit of the Alen 55 with an unusually generous and well thought out deck space. The Alen 55 is a great family boat, safe for children and friends with a single level teak deck and deep bulwarks so that you are always ‘in’ rather than ‘on’ the boat. The walkaround aft sunbed offers easy access to the swimming platform making it a wonderful place to enjoy by the sea. The hydraulic gangway, which also doubles as a swim ladder provides an ideal way to come in and out of the sea. Meals may be enjoyed on deck with an extending table that comfortably seats eight guests. The Alen 55 has an open kitchen with all the appliances to prepare a delicious meal on the deck. The midship layout is carefully designed to ensure that guests can interact regardless of whether they are at the helm or cooking. Whilst aft and bow give a total sense of privacy. An additional sun awning can be raised to cover the aft sunbathing area secured by two carbon poles set into the bulwark. The custom-made anchor mechanism operates with the push of a button from the dashboard. No hydraulic or electric system is used that requires constant maintenance or gives any chance for failure. The hidden system also preserves the sleek lines of the Alen 55. The well protected and shaded central helm is equipped with the latest navigation equipment to make your life at sea safe and more enjoyable. ‘Intelligent inspiration’ sums up the design of Alen 55’s interior. Teak flooring, leather wall panels, and lacquered surfaces produce a warm, natural ambiance. In furnishings, the Alen 55 can be completed almost any way an owner chooses, from the general arrangement of cabins to fittings, all is made possible with the spacious interior volume. The custom-made sofa in the lounge can easily convert into a double berth for additional overnight guests. The cabins have very generous storage space without compromising the clean lines and spacious feel. There is a selection lighting option that can be changed depending on your mood. The glass separation gives light and depth into the aft cabin. With two different interior layouts, the Alen 55 can be configured as a day or chase boat containing two crew berths and a very spacious lounge with separate bathrooms for the guests and crew. The alternative is designed for long cruises. Two cabins, separated by a lounge, ensures a comfortable stay on board for up to 5 guests.
