Compass Rose Yacht Charters, LLC, out of the Newburyport, MA area, is the closest thing to having your own private yacht for day ocean charters. Founded by Captain Gig Michaud, a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain (Master), and Retired Navy Captain, who desires to share his passion for the Ocean with his clients.

Family Vacationers and Small Corporate Groups will experience the Natural Beauty on the Ocean, from Picturesque Harbors and Rivers, to cruising along the North Shore Coastline.   Our reputation has been built on honest and ethical business practices mixed with passionate knowledge of yachting hospitality and tourism.

When you step aboard our magnificent 35’ Tiara Yacht “GIA”, you will leave behind all your cares and begin experiencing the seafaring excitement of yachting at its finest. You will personally observe the Majestic Beauty of a Sun soaked Ocean, shimmering like diamonds across the horizon, with its warm gentle breezes.

Departing from the dock, and beginning the journey, you will see, up close and personal, life on the water. You may observe occasional sightings of marine mammals and seabirds in their natural elements, such as Seals, Sunfish, Dolphins, Seagulls, Sandpipers, Herrings, etc, and if lucky, the largest mammals known to mankind, the Whale.

Our Goal is to make your day on the Ocean, aboard Yacht “GIA”, an informative and enjoyable experience for you and your family or small business group. We look forward to having you aboard!

Hi Catherine, cremains are required to be scattered 500 yards from land. We can leave from the Berkeley Marina and go out the minimum distance or other areas around the bay including near the Golden Gate Bridge… more

We held my husbands ash scattering services aboard the compass Rose yacht. It was a lovely experience, The crew was very kind and very accommodating of our needs. We were welcomed by hot cocoa, coffee, tea and many smiles. They played music of our choice throughout the voyage. The cabin was comfortable, warm and inviting. The deck was spacious and well maintained. They did a great job of keeping our group on schedule so we could complete all the services that we had planned. I truly appreciated their hospitality and would totally recommend using the Compass Rose for any of your needs. You won't be disappointed.

Working with this team is so wonderful and easy. For the second year in a row, I planned a birthday outing for a group of around 50 people. This team is so easy to work with, and the entire crew is so friendly and kind. They took us on a beautiful, scenic route and provided an amazing experience. With comfortable in door seating and upper deck level seating, it's such a joy to be able to fit comfortably and see the Bay Area from a new vantage point.

Was a perfect party boat. Crew was great and accommodative. Music was just right to dance for most of the time that we were on the boat. Weather was a bit cold, but we were able to make the best of it!! Thanks Voyager Team!!

Our small work group had the best morning on this cruise. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the area; told fun stories and took pictures for us. We had a great time!

I booked with Compass Rose for my birthday in June. They were able to accommodate my entire group of 65 with room to spare. It was such a great experience and I recommend them to all of my friends looking to have a boat party in the Bay.

We chartered the Voyager for a burial at sea. From my very first phone call with Captain Elliott, my experience was outstanding. He was very responsive and helpful, even with a date change on my part. On the day of the event, the crew was so hospitable and made our family feel very well taken care of. The vessel is very clean and well maintained and has space for guests to spread out. When we reached the ash spreading location, we had plenty of time to conduct our ceremony and they gave us the space to process the emotions that ensued. The crew's kindness and efforts really made for a beautiful event. Thank you all!

Compass Rose Charters provided a wonderful experience for my grandson's birthday. Eliot and the whole crew were fabulous! We had about 30 people and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was a beautiful night and the San Francisco skyline sparkled! If you want to celebrate a special occasion, l highly recommend these folks!

Used Compass Rose Yacht Charters for my small nonprofit holiday party last month. The entire experience was incredible. Eliot is a true gem and worked with me to make the party a success. The entire crew was super friendly and even with all the fog, the captain took us on a beautiful scenic route. I was pleasantly surprised that the meal was super delicious. Compass Rose Yacht Charter definitely deserves a five star review. I spoke to Captain Eliot, requesting my Dad's ash scattering at Sea. He was kind, accommodating and professional. On the day of our reservation, the crew provided safety protocols, refreshments, music of our choice, and yellow roses to scatter at sea. It was memorable experience I will never forget. The entire day was a blessing to our family. I thank Captain Eliot and his crew.
