Pick Up/Drop Off Location:  Behind El Torito at 13715 Fiji Way, Marina Del Rey, CA  90292. (called Dock 55)  When facing the water, it’s located to the right of El Torito restaurant.

Yes!  We have a fridge, freezer, ice maker, cooler and grill. 

Plenty of room for whatever you're looking to drink and snack on.

Can we bring alcohol aboard Bella?

It would be weird if you didn't. As long as guests are over 21, you are welcome to bring and drink whatever you like.

Is Bella kid-friendly?

Absolutely, guests of all ages are welcome.

If anyone has a tendency to get motion sick or sea sick, please be sure to take something ahead of time.

Is Bella dog-friendly?

While we love our dogs, it is not appropriate to have them aboard.  Space is limited and they can shed a lot.

Out of respect to ALL guests, we ask that you leave your furry friend at home, ESA's included.

How many people can we have in our group?

12 Max.  1-6 guests for our Standard Contract or 7-12 guests for a Bare-Boat Contract. Captain and Crew do not count in the number of passengers. We're happy to help you with the details, please e-mail us [email protected]

Can we smoke aboard Bella?

NO.  Just below your seats are 350 gallons of diesel fuel, plus we want to keep the boat nice for a long time to come, and burn holes are hard to repair.  You can vape responsibly.

What about weed, man?

Since we will be on federal waters and marijuana is not federally legal, that's a big NO .  You can leave the drugs at home... you're going to have a great time without them.

Have a question before booking, cancellation  policy + damage.

Late Arrivals: The City controls Dock 55 for loading and unloading passengers. We have to arrange times in advance with a 15 minute time-slot with the city for our pick-ups and drop-offs. If you’re late it will count against your time.

Cancellation Policy:

Your deposit reserves the boat, a captain, a crew member and the county dock. 

If a charter is canceled within 7 days of the charter date or no cancellation received, the full deposit is forfeited by the client.  

Any cancellation greater than 7 days from the charter date will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee to cover expenses of pre-paying the county dock, the credit card transaction fee, committing to captain and crew member, and administrative fees. The balance will be returned to you within 7 days.

Went on a sunset cruise with a group of friends on an incredible Winter So Cal afternoon that did not disappoint. Valter and his wife Nicole were super accommodating and lived up to the hostess with the mostest saying. First, the catamaran is a beautiful 42ft vessel that had clean bathrooms, a big hang out area in the galley if you get cold, a nice outdoor lounge area on the back of the catamaran where we spent a lot of time living life to the fullest. The front of the catamaran has two nets where you can literally look down into the clear blue sea, take in that salty air and if you are lucky like we were you can take view dolphins swimming right underneath us. Our 3 hour cruise ended with a gorgeous sunset that wrapped an afternoon we will never forget. Thank you Valter & Nicole for making our experience first class. Comfortable clothes and layers! The temperature varies a lot even within a couple of hours on the water. Make sure to bring layers so you stay comfortable the entire trip. Additionally, we require shoes to be removed prior to boarding. This ensures the yachts remain in the best condition possible for future guests.

Yes, all our yachts come with a Bluetooth stereo so you can connect easily and play your own music for the atmosphere you’re looking to enjoy.

Yes, while we provide complimentary waters and sodas you are always welcome to bring your favorite food and drinks to enjoy while you’re out.

You will board the yacht at Dock 55. The above address will bring you to the parking lot. Once you are inside the parking go all the way to the right and you will see the Dock 55 boarding gate.

No, gratuity is not included. We recommend 15-20% for excellent service.

We understand not everyone has their sea-legs so if anyone tends to get motion sick or seasick, or if you aren’t sure, we recommend planning ahead and choosing a remedy you’re comfortable with before you board. A quick google search will help you understand the options; pills, patches, homeopathic, etc.

Your captain has full authority over the route and destination based on the conditions. While uncommon there are instances where weather and sea conditions may prevent the charter from sticking to the planned itinerary. If the weather or sea conditions are extreme, the captain will decide if it is unsafe to proceed and we will work with you to reschedule for another available day.

• Over 13-years Old: Life jackets are not required for guests older than 13-years. However, they are available for all guests and can be worn as an added safety precaution if you feel more comfortable… plus orange is stylish!

3 Hours - $890 / $975 Weekends in May-Sept

Cruise Marina del Rey, harbor, Venice, Santa Monica, and see from a distance the striking cliffs of Malibu. If you have a specific request for route, just let your captain know. Regardless, we will be sure to show you the best scenery based on the day's conditions. You'll be extremely comfortable with multiple lounging areas on the yacht, including a high view flybridge and a comfortable bow cushion seating area. Connect your music with bluetooth to our sound system and set the vibe to your preference. Your crew will be there to provide the full luxury experience, with optional stewardess onboard to serve your refreshments and assist you as needed. The captain will be constantly on the lookout for wildlife and dolphins, of which there are many in the Santa Monica Bay!

4 Hours - $1090 / $1300 Weekends in May-Sept

A little longer to cruise, relax, swim, party, and enjoy! If you'd like to swim, we recommend a 4 hour charter. We can take you to one of multiple great swimming areas depending on the day's conditions. This might be near the Santa Monica Pier, or Playa del Rey Beach. Paddle boards and floaties are included on request!

6 Hours - Malibu Voyage - $1800 / $1950 Weekends in May-Sept

Offered April - October. Cruise to Malibu for an epic yacht day! Anchoring locations may be in front of Carbon Beach, or Paradise Cove. This is the best place in the Santa Monica Bay to enjoy the sea and sunshine. You'll have a beautiful coastal cruise to begin, passing the beaches of Venice, Santa Monica, and the Pacific Palisades. After arriving in Malibu, the captain will find a stunning cliffside protected anchorage. You'll anchor the yacht, throw out the paddle boards and floaties, and enjoy a couple hours of relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, and paddleboarding! Hope for dolphins on the way home!

Catalina Full Day Trip - $3900

Offered April - October. Visit the premier destination for Southern California boating! Choose either an Avalon town day, or take the yacht to secluded coves like Emerald Bay and others in the north of the island. In Avalon, wander the tiny streets with shopping and dining, or rent a golf cart to explore! Scuba dive the famous Avalon underwater park, or take a safari to view the famous Catalina buffalo. If you prefer to enjoy the boat all day, we'll go to Emerald Bay for the crystal clear water and great snorkeling! Paddle boards included to enjoy the calm bays, or sunbathe on the bow! Calico - 40ft Yacht - 6 Guests

Take in the sights and sounds of Marina del Rey, Los Angeles aboard this modern, American-built Carver yacht. This boat’s spacious 40 ft feature three decks for entertaining: Interior & Cockpit, Flybridge, and Foredeck. Her expansive open boat cabin features large salon windows and plush seating in two separate interior areas.  The dining area adjacent to the galley seats six for dinner. Farther aft, the salon features a settee and matching armchairs.  Outside, a large boat cockpit features a Euro-style transom door and integral swim platform.

To book a sunset cruise, simply choose how many hours you'd like to rent the yacht, then choose a time near to the sunset of that day. My Experience on the Happiest Ours Yacht was by far one of the best experiences I have had. The yachts vibrant modern look only added more to the experience my friends and I had for my birthday. The yacht was clean and well maintained. The sound system was incredible because not only did we have the option to play our own music, but the captain had a great playlist to. Captain Doran was a great captain and host who was very knowledgeable. He took us to the best spots where he knew we would have the best views and the most fun. I definitely recommend the Happiest Ours Yacht and will 100% host more events there.

If you're looking for real relaxation, a very well put together team that takes care of all your needs, and makes their top priority customer satisfaction, then you are in the right place. I cannot stress about how happy i am making the choice of using Happiest Ours Yacht Charters. Although it was a bit more pricy than the rest, after touring the marina and seeing other charters out on the same day, you could easily see why some people like Ferraris and others settle for Toyotas. Our charter was by far the best looking, most fun looking, best energy, and dont get me started on the food and service. These are things not every person can see from the outside but i am here to vouch for it. Dont miss out on an amazing day that your family and friends will talk about for the rest of your life.

After I booked, I was put in contact with Mari who promptly answered my many questions via text. And when the day finally came, our hostess Drew reached out to make sure we could find the boat and reconfirmed the planned itinerary. The company offers to arrange for a host / bartender and a private chef. I'm so glad we opted to do this. It really made the experience! The captain took us out to Malibu where we spent some time with floaties in the water. The whole crew at Happiest Hours goes above and beyond to ensure you and your guests have a great time. The whole charter was such a blast! My friends and I can't stop talking about what a great time we had. I would book again with them in a heartbeat!

Loved the crew. They took such great care of us and we had an amazing day on the ocean !!!! We listened to our curated playlist as we swam in the ocean. Can't wait to do it again.

CheeseCake Factory’s menu has more than 250 dishes, made fresh from scratch, to order, every day. In the 1940s, Evelyn found a recipe in her local Detroit newspaper that inspired her “Original” cheesecake. Everyone loved her recipe so much she decided to open a small bakery, but eventually gave it up to focus on raising her children, David and Renee. She moved her baking equipment to her basement kitchen and continued to sell cakes to some of the best restaurants in town. In 1972, Evelyn Overton and her husband Oscar moved to Los Angeles to try one last time to have their own business. With the last of their savings, they opened The Cheesecake Factory Bakery and began selling Evelyn’s cheesecakes to restaurants throughout L.A. Their son David decided to open a restaurant in Beverly Hills in 1978 to showcase his mother’s cakes. Somehow, he just knew that a restaurant with an extensive dessert menu would be a hit. There was a line out the door on opening day. David then opened his second Cheesecake in Marina del Rey. More than forty years later, many say the line has never stopped!

EXCLUSIVE: Marina del Rey Residents Seek Answers After 911 Calls Go Unanswered During 3-Hour Shooting Spree

M ARINA DEL REY -Residents of a Marina del Rey apartment complex are speaking out about their harrowing experience during a three-hour shooting spree on the night of April 13, in which their desperate calls to 911 went unanswered. The community, shaken by the gunfire and fearful for their lives, want to know why, in a situation when every second counts, it took so long for their calls for help to be answered.

While the alleged gunman, Victoryloc Vinh Nguyen, was eventually arrested , those who experienced the ordeal at the Pearl Apartments on the 4100 block of Via Marina reported their frantic calls to 911 were met with silence. "At first I thought something was wrong with my phone," said Lindzay Sturdevant. "I called 911 fourteen times and it was just non-stop busy."

Esabella Rojas, fearing for her life, hid in the bathtub with her dog to avoid stray bullets during the chaos. "The first time I called 911, the line was busy. When I finally got through on my second attempt, all they told me was to stay inside my apartment, which wasn't very reassuring," she recounted. Desperate for information, she contacted her friends, asking them to call police to find out what was happening. "It took about thirty minutes for the police to respond, so we were left in the dark, relying on updates from the Citizen app," she said.

"I kept hearing the siren sounds and saying to myself, they are going to come in any minute now. It took three hours to get him," said Rojas, who moved into the complex in 2022.

"You expect to feel some comfort when calling 911, but that didn't happen," said another longtime resident. "For three hours, I had no idea what was happening. I was just hiding with my two dogs, wondering if I was going to be killed."

"Taking three hours to apprehend the shooter was unbelievable," Sturdevant said. Sturdevant described being left in suspense, unsure if help was coming. She said she found a livestream on YouTube showing police positioned outside, surrounding the building but not entering. "It was frightening to realize they were just waiting outside while we were trapped inside with an active shooter."

Another resident said they called 911 but was put on hold. "I just kept waiting and waiting, hoping that someone would eventually come on the call. It never happened so I just kept hiding under the bed."

The LAPD's communications operators, responsible for answering millions of 911 calls each year and dispatching police, have been working mandatory overtime to keep the city's emergency response system running due to a critical staffing shortage. We reached out to the LAPD for answers about this specific incident but have not received a response.

According to an NBC report published in February, Shortage of 911 operators in LA is straining emergency response system , there were 162 unfilled jobs for the operators, known as Police Service Representatives (PSRs). The city has struggled to hire and train new PSRs quickly enough, straining the network that the public relies on during life-threatening emergencies. Although dozens of new PSRs began training in March, it takes about a year before they are ready to work as call-takers or radio dispatchers.

In early May, Councilwoman Traci Park emphasized to the Budget and Finance Committee the critical budgetary needs facing the Westside community, particularly in public safety. Park advocated for increased funding for civilian overtime to ensure PSRs can effectively handle emergency 911 calls. She cautioned that understaffing might lead to delayed responses during emergencies .

The shortage of 911 operators is not isolated to Los Angeles but is a nationwide issue. A report by KTLA, 911 hold times: Staffing shortages cause callers to wait up to 20 min , affiliates have reported delays across the country, from Little Rock to Las Vegas, with some residents waiting up to 20 minutes to connect with an emergency operator. Last June, the average 911 hold time in Austin, Texas was about three minutes, while the mayor of Kansas City noted his sister recently waited five minutes while their mother was incapacitated.

Nearly every city experiencing delays cites a shortage of workers at 911 centers, a problem that has worsened since the pandemic. In the report, April Heinze, the 911 & PSAP Operations Director for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), told KTLA the industry faces an average staffing shortage of around 30%. A survey by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) found that over 100 emergency call centers reported at least half of their positions were unfilled last year, with nearly 4,000 people leaving their jobs across more than 700 centers.

The process of hiring and training new operators is lengthy, often taking three to 18 months. Those who leave the profession cite stress, low pay, and long hours as primary reasons. The median annual pay for public safety telecommunicators was $46,670 in 2021, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Efforts to address the shortage include legislative measures in states like Indiana, Illinois, and Washington, which aim to attract more applicants and provide better support for dispatchers.

F1’s Miami GP leaned into the ‘joke’ with its fake marina — and created a symbol

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Walk through Gate 9, over the Turn 6 bridge, across a short fan zone, and you will encounter a vibrant, eye-catching aqua blue. The surface is smooth and serene. Four yachts are docked on it, all surrounded by a lovely marina.

A picturesque environment. The kind that makes you feel like you could be in a tropical oceanside setting — except for one notable thing.

While the yachts are real, the water they “float” on is fake. Plywood is laid down and then covered in blue vinyl material, complete with waves and ripples designed into the covering to create the impression that the yachts are floating. Thus, the Miami Grand Prix appears to have a waterfront backdrop despite being located in Miami Gardens at the landlocked Hard Rock Stadium, also home to the NFL ’s Miami Dolphins.

“We joke about this a lot internally,” said Tyler Epp, Miami Grand Prix’s president, according to Business Insider. “We never took ourselves too seriously with the marina. We’re not sitting on the Pacific Ocean or the Red Sea like the Formula 1 race in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. But Miami is so much about boats, beauty, culture — and credit to the team, who wanted to create an opportunity for people to experience that in a unique way.”

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and club CEO Tom Garfinkel originally envisioned the Miami Grand Prix in downtown Miami. Had this plan come to fruition, the scenic waterfront setting indelibly linked to Miami would’ve occurred naturally. However, pushback from city officials scuttled those plans, necessitating a Plan B.

And just like that, the idea of racing along the ocean vanished with the shift to Hard Rock Stadium. After all, it’s hard to showcase the ocean when the Atlantic is several miles away.

“We have been very committed to, from the beginning, the brand of Miami,” Miami Grand Prix president Tyler Epp said in 2023. “We’re going to create Miami as the lens for which people are viewing the race.”

Thus, the idea was born to create the kind of visual associated with South Florida by creating a replica marina, complete with a yacht club. In the third year of the Miami Grand Prix, the setting inside Turns 6, 7 and 8 has become an identifying symbol linked to the race.

Organizers admit the setting is tongue-in-cheek. Since being publicly unveiled in 2022, the marina has been subject to plenty of jokes and memes across social media. But they, and those partaking in the revelry in the marina, will tell you that’s OK. What has been created is a fun atmosphere that accomplishes the goal of giving the circuit as close to an authentic “Miami feel” as it can despite the obvious restrictions.

“This is as unique a viewing experience as you’re going to find,” said Harris Glaser, president of Midnight Express Powerboats, who’s purchased two of the four available slips. “And, honestly, when you’re up top and look down, it does look like water. The dock aesthetic helps, too.”

As Glaser speaks, qualifying for Saturday’s sprint race is underway, with cars buzzing through every few seconds. Not that too many folks seem to be paying close attention. The on-track action is secondary — at best.

Instead, most seem to enjoy the festivities on this sunshine-baked afternoon.

On the other side of the “water,” a DJ is playing a constant stream of hip hop from 50 Cent (“Just a Little Bit”) to Snoop Dogg (“Drop It Like It’s Hot”) to Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz (“Get Low”) among the rotation. The thumping music compels some attendees to dance on the boat decks. And if you desire an adult beverage, there is no shortage of options as each of the two Midnight Express yachts has assorted bottles of hard liquor and beer on ice.

Even if it’s a facsimile, the vibe still has a very Miami feel—exactly what race organizers pitched Hasler when they approached him about the opportunity three-plus years ago.

With Midnight Express based in Miami and its powerboats appealing to a similar high-dollar consumer that likely would find the Miami Grand Prix’s marina environment appealing, Hessler thought it made sense. He quickly signed on, becoming the first to do so. He politely declined what he paid to have two of his boats lifted into the marina to (essentially) serve as suites for him and his guests, but that he’s been doing this all three years indicates he’s found the investment worth it.

“It’s expensive,” Hessler said. “Very expensive.”

Although the “water” may be fake, these boats certainly are not. Both Midnight Express boats are working vessels, each featuring five 450-horsepower engines. On Tuesday, they will be transported from the circuit to a dock in the Atlantic, 10 miles away.

No, the Miami Grand Prix doesn’t abut an actual body of water as initially intended, but race organizers got creative to achieve their objective. And the finished product more than serves its purpose.

“It’s the Monaco experience in Miami,” Glaser said. “It’s pretty incredible to pull something like this off.”
