Olympia Yacht Club Awards 2023 Community Grants. The Olympia Yacht Club (OYC) is pleased to announce the awarding grants to 5 local non-profits. These grants are intended to support organizations that share the club's interest in educating seniors and youth in the stewardship of marine ecology, boating recreation, safety, and maritime history.
Summary of OYC History
Olympia Yacht Club was officially incorporated in 1904, with W.A. Van Epps as the first Commodore and was one of the first 14 Yacht Clubs in the Puget Sound. Only four members have served two terms as Commodore - R.L. Blankenship, 1923-1924; Walter Draham, 1930-1931; Ernest Mallory, 1932 and 1943; W.W Metter, 1946-1947. The Twenties.
