RoMEA Yacht – Unraveling the Charm of $125M Superyacht

The incredible $125 million ROMEA yacht was built by Abeking & Rasmussen, featuring interior and exterior design from Terence Disdale Design.

She is the epitome of luxury and refined furnishings and an excellent charter yacht for guests to enjoy the superyacht experience.

The ROMEA yacht features an interior design from Terence Disdale Design . She has accommodation for 12 guests on board, with one master, one VIP suite, two doubles, two twins, and two Pullman berths.

The design elements a hugely luxurious, with dark accents adding sophistication and contrast to the pale wood furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The superyacht has accommodation for 25 crew members to ensure the most luxurious stay on board the yacht.

One of the main attractions of the yacht is the spacious beach club which is adjacent to the Spa zone that offers a Finnish sauna, treatment room, and more. A gym provides an area to work out with state-of-the-art gym equipment.

There is a beach club on deck for the perfect relaxation area. The sun-exposed bridge deck aft is fitted with sun pads and an outdoor lounge for relaxing in the sun, which is then converted into a nighttime cinema to enjoy a film under the stars.

An alfresco dining area outside on the upper deck offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a meal outside and relax while sipping a sunset cocktail on the seating along the stern.

There are even more seating areas on the yacht and a bar where guests can enjoy conversation over a drink. She also features a jacuzzi for guests to relax in the bubbles.

There are plenty of water toys for the guests to use on the water, with WaveRunners, supersets, sea bobs, and windsurfers being just a few in the collection.

The garage is also equipped with tenders that make yachting life simple and easy.

The exterior of the ROMEA yacht was designed by Terence Disdale Design, and she was built by the German shipyard, Abeking & Rasmussen .

ROMEA has a steel hull, aluminum superstructure, and teak deck and features eye-catching underwater lights that illuminate her in the dark.

The ROMEA yacht is an 81.8m superyacht with a beam of 12.6m and a draft of 3.45m. She has a range of 5750 nautical miles with her two Caterpillar engines.

Master designer, Terence Disdale, has created another masterpiece with Abeking & Rasmussen yacht ROMEA.  He drafts both her interior and exterior areas.  She has purposeful and masculine lines. The yacht draws instant attention.  Charter guests, once enveloped in her living spaces, experience her gracefulness and elegance.  Disdale provides immense attention to items. For example, detail and guest comfort.  Motor yacht ROMEA is a German-built megayacht. She is listed as one of the largest charter yachts in the world.

Abeking & Rasmussen superyacht Romea has an amazing sundeck.  It is the epicenter for outdoor recreation and entertainment.  Monaco yacht charter guests can choose between two distinct outdoor areas, separated by grand central staircase that leads down to the main deck (three levels) below. The forward sundeck is laid out for sunbathing and relaxing in the oversized pool.  The aft area is perfect for evening cocktails and entertainment.

One level away from the sundeck is the bridge deck.  Here, in the aft section, guests can enjoy watching movies under the stars while relaxing in the outdoor cinema. Also located on the bridge deck is the heart of wellness yacht charter activity – the dedicated spa center.

Below the bridge deck is the upper observation deck.  This is a popular spot for large dinner gatherings as the deck provides ample space for entertainment with various intimate social spaces where guests can relax and enjoy the views of the ocean and Côte d’Azur.

Moving into the yacht’s interior, the signature Disdale handiwork becomes evident.  There’s an abundance of natural surfaces, each displaying unique textures and shapes. Exotic woods, masonry, metals, and leathers work in harmony to create a luxurious home-away-from-home experience.

The main saloon offers oversized custom furniture pieces, with original artworks adding a bit of color to the cream-toned leather and upholstered areas.  The grand staircase spirals around the yacht’s elevator, with both connecting the four guest decks, including the sun deck.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The yacht accommodates twelve guests in six lavish staterooms. In specific, five on the main deck, and the master suite on the upper deck.   The master is like a penthouse apartment.  A dedicated children’s cabin forms part of the owner’s suite, along with a private study area and two separate, enormous ensuite bathrooms for him and her.  All staterooms are richly furnished and serve as ideal retreats from a long day of playing in the sea and sun.

Whether at anchor or underway, motion stabilizers make time onboard a true pleasure, no matter the weather.

Which is the best approach for Guernsey?

Ian and Jenny are in Salcombe planning a cross-Channel passage to St Peter Port on the east coast of Guernsey.

They are on board their 60-year-old 28ft (8.5m) gaff cutter Florence .

Florence will sail at about 5 knots on a reach in a moderate breeze.

She’s not so quick close-hauled but her main weakness is a small ancient engine which gives 4 knots at best.

The forecast is SW Force 4 occasionally 5 decreasing 2-3. It’s also a spring tide.

The tidal streams are strong around the Channel Islands so Ian and Jenny are planning to try and avoid a foul tide towards the end of the trip.

When the tidal stream in the English Channel is NE going, the tide runs along the north and south coast of Guernsey and north up the east coast past St Peter Port.

The stretch of water between Guernsey and the neighboring island of Herm to the east is called the Little Russel and the tidal rates here can be as much as 5 knots.

On the SW-going tide in the English Channel the stream in the Little Russel is south-going.

Taking the northern route around the island and down the Little Russel to St Peter Port from Salcombe the distance is about 70 miles.

The southern route taking Guernsey on the port side is 73 miles.

Which way should they go?

This one will be well known to West Country sailors as Guernsey is the nearest Channel Island to Devon.

Ideally Ian and Jenny would arrive at the north end of the Little Russel at slack water just before the tide turns south.

In the real world this is only possible either with a strong engine in settled conditions when the ETA is predictable or in a very steady wind.

On the day, with a decreasing wind and a weak engine, trying to calculate exactly when Florence is going to arrive is almost impossible.

Too early and there’s a huge foul tide coming up the Little Russel which would defeat Florence ’s little engine.

Too late and there’s a long slow passage along the north coast against the tidal stream.

The best option with this boat in these conditions is to take the longer southern route.

Providing they approach with the east-going tide, the time of arrival off Guernsey is not critical and the flow to St Peter Port is favourable.

In a motor yacht or larger modern sailing yacht with a powerful engine, timing the arrival accurately at the entrance of the Little Russel is possible and therefore quicker, but the penalty for getting this wrong in a little yacht is a long slow few miles against the stream and a late arrival in Guernsey.
