Nautitech 44 Open review: space and performance?

Yachting World

  • July 26, 2022

Offering space and a comfortable interior while keeping a cat light enough to perform is a tough brief. Does the Nautitech 44 Open deliver, asks François Tregouet?

Product Overview

Price as reviewed:.

It’s been more than six years since the Nautitech yard in Rochefort launched an entirely new design, but this Nautitech 44 Open marks the company’s return to the forefront of the multihull scene.

It shares the Open layout of Nautitech’s past models, but embodies the brand’s new strategy to address owner-operators rather than the charter market. We were able to judge the concept during an early sea trial on the Bay of Biscay.

The Nautitech 44 Open was developed in just 14 months during the middle of the pandemic and owes a great deal to the dozen owners and dealers consulted to define their ‘ideal’ catamaran. The feedback from this working party convinced the yard to focus on cruising owners and to go for a more performance-oriented design than the market average.

Marc Lombard’s design team has succeeded in expressing this externally by using fine bows, a narrow waterline and controlled volumes. The line of hull windows is more tapered than in the past, and the nacelle is less pronounced and voluminous than typical production cruising cats.

Nautitech’s Open concept, which was initiated nearly 10 years ago on the Nautitech 40 Open, allows the length to be contained by merging the interior and exterior into a single volume. So the true saloon is located outside, protected by a long, rigid bimini and coachroof windows that extend beyond the sliding bay window. Not splitting the saloon/cockpit function saves space – and weight, which is crucial on a multihull, especially at this size.

Transformative

The chart table and L-shaped bench seat on the port side, and the galley to starboard, are thus able to benefit from the entire interior space. Facing forward, the chart table is a proper indoor navstation, while the bench seat can be transformed into a watch-keeper’s berth. Strategically positioned between control screens and cockpit winches, it will be ideal for night passages.

The galley benefits from a large 144lt fridge and optional 75lt freezer, anticipating the demands of owners wishing to sail with complete self-sufficiency wherever possible. Designer Christophe Chedal-Anglay, known for his work on the Gunboat 68, has incorporated a clever bar unit in the centre of this living space, which works very well to distribute guests, and naturally becomes a focal point for discussions.

Aft helms remain key elements of the Open concept. Photo: MULTImedia

In the three-cabin version we sailed, reflecting the emphasis on owner-sailors rather than the charter market, the port hull is dedicated to the owner’s cabin with aft double berth, separate heads and large washbasin and shower room forward.

On the starboard side double cabins forward and aft are separated by heads and washroom spaces – the yard preferring to offer more volume to a heads and shower/washbasin area on one side instead of duplicating identical bathrooms.

A ‘SmartRoom’ concept allows for a forward cabin to be fitted out to suit a choice of uses: office, dressing room, technical room, workshop or stowage.

On deck, Nautitech remains faithful to its double aft helm stations which are protected from the sun by two small biminis. They remain exposed to the apparent wind and spray, but the view of the sails is excellent and the view forward is better than you might think. The blind spots forward are very small – apart from when the removable cockpit enclosures are in place, which will likely only be in port or at anchor – and a step to the side immediately remedies this.

When manoeuvring in marinas, a camera mounted under the radar antenna and pointing towards the bows, gives the helmsman an accurate and useful picture of the distances available.

Nautitech continues to improve the comfort, design and ergonomics around the aft helm set up. The winches are within easy reach, and well separated from the lounging area, and the moulded dash binnacle elegantly accommodates all the necessary elements (engine controls, plotter, repeaters, etc.).

Access to the deck to go forward, to take care of the anchor or lower the gennaker, is a formality thanks to the two teak steps and the handrails integrated into the coachroof and around the deck.

Handy performance

The sporty first impression that the fine bow sections give is confirmed once at sea, where they are also noticeably dry. Nautitech has managed to keep the Open 44 to the designed light displacement of 10.9 tonnes. However, the standard configuration with a self-tacking jib giving 110m² sail area proved to be a minimum in the 10 to 12 knots of cold wind we encountered.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Narrower hulls than many of today’s cruising cats, but still plenty of comfort. Photo: MULTImedia

I’d have liked to have tried the overlapping genoa, which increases the sail area to 133m². Once the Code 0 was unfurled, however, the boat came to life. We reached 8.4 knots at 55° to the apparent wind in only 12.8 knots of breeze. Of course, if you bear away a little, the pace becomes even faster, and we regularly exceeded 10 knots at 110° to the wind.

The extensive design resources used for the first time, with three digital models tested in virtual reality, have clearly had an effect. The helm is direct and offers just the right amount of feedback to steer accurately but without too much effort. The new hexagonal shape of the Goïot steering wheels quickly overcame our conservatism, as their shape allows an easy understanding of their degree of rotation. Switching from one side to the other without rushing to get the best angle of vision on the telltales is straightforward, as the boat is so stable.

There was no slamming when going through waves thanks to good speed under sail and a comfortable bridgedeck clearance. And when returning to port, powered by the two optional 50hp engines (30hp as standard), the Nautitech made 7 knots at 2,000rpm. French tradition dictated that we would be home in time for lunch!

The non-slip surface lacks a bit of texture to offer good grip in wet weather, but this is one of the only minor niggles we found with this well-founded Nautitech. The ‘Open’ concept involves a smaller coachroof but, conversely, a very large exterior saloon. And in this context we can say that the 44 Open keeps its promise to improve the comfort-performance compromise, a factor cherished by the brand. The abolition of the inside-outside boundary serves to limit displacement and help deliver attractive performance. That lack of boundary is underlined by the continuity of the lighting between the two areas, while inside, the quality of the finish has improved and the layout is intelligent. With its smart positioning between industrial yards which are very influenced by the charter market, and specialists with more radical (and expensive) choices, Nautitech has created a ‘sweet spot’ with this new model, which will appeal to many multihull enthusiasts.

Focussed on the wishes of individual owners to take advantage of the boom in private catamaran sales, the Nautitech 44 Open is a new concept for Bavaria

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Product Overview

Founded in 1994, Nautitech Catamarans have been part of the Bavaria Yachts Group since 2014, though they are still built in Rochefort in France. Previous models have offered options to appeal to charter as well as private owner, but along with other brands leaving the charter market behind, Nautitech has taken the bold decision to go with the boom in private catamaran ownership, and produce a new model focused on the wishes of individuals, the Nautitech 44 Open.

Designed and built at the height of the pandemic, Nautitech used a working group of current owners and dealers, as well as virtual-reality testing of computer models to create the new design.

The Nautitech 44 Open is Nautitech’s first new model for several years and it aims to strike a balance between high-performance and high-volume. To that end, the waterline has been kept as narrow as possible, with fine entries and double chines, and modest hull volumes. The wheels are connected directly to the rudders, with a good deal of attention paid to making the helms light but responsive, with just the right amount of feedback from the water.

Weight has also been kept down to a reasonable 10.5 tonnes, and the nacelle is smaller so that the underside of the bridge deck has a higher clearance above the waves.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

The main social area is outside, so more space can be given to the chart table and galley inside

The helms are exposed to the elements, though they each have a small bimini, and lines and winches are easily to hand. The blind spot to leeward from the superstructure has been kept to a minimum thanks to plenty of glazing, and a step to the side is enough to see round it. There’s also a mast-mounted camera to give a clear view down onto the bow to help with mooring manoeuvres.

The Nautitech 44 Open retains the brand’s ‘open’ concept in which everything happens on one level, with helms either side at deck level, and with the saloon and cockpit functioning together, so that living areas merge together, rather than being duplicated inside and outside.

This creates space for a large galley and full-size chart table in the saloon, with the small table and seating area that doubles as a watch-keeper’s berth, while there is a generous table and seating in a cockpit that can be fully enclosed with canvas sides in harbour.

Catamarans don’t come cheap, but the 44 Open is less expensive than some. However, you’ll still need the best part of £750,000 in the bank to be able to sail away in one of these.

Nautitech 44 Open

Buying a new nautitech 44 open.

10 minute read

Many thanks to Gareth Reeves who was one of the first people to order a new Nautitech 44 Open : Sailing Duality II!

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Gareth has kindly agreed to share some of his thoughts on which options he is looking at and an insight into why he chose the Nautitech 44. This should be invaluable for anyone who is thinking of buying this catamaran or in fact any catamaran in this range.

You can follow Duality on Instagram at @sailingduality . Once launched, she will be available to charter in the BVI through Horizon Yacht Charters . More details at the bottom of the page.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and why you chose Nautitech? Just a quick summary. You had a 40 Open previously, right? Sure, my name is Gareth Reeves and I’m a software engineer. I live outside of Chicago with my wife Mimi and 5 kids ranging from 3 to 18, 3 from previous marriage. I’ve sailed on Lake Michigan for the last 20 years and have owned a monohull there for most of that time. I love sailing and most of my available energy and brain time after work and family goes to thinking about sailing.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

The season in Chicago is short and winters are long. I’d sailed previously in the BVI and think its a great place to go and unwind and with the popularity of catamarans I realized that it could work for the family.

Like many, I got into sailing videos on YouTube and when Riley and Elayna got their Outremer it just sort of clicked for me. I like to say my wife has a “2 hull minimum”. I wanted a sailors boat, not a floating condo and I since we couldn’t afford to be on the boat for the entire season (either financially or time wise) it made sense to look at charter ownership.

I couldn’t afford an Outremer but I feel like the Nautitech Opens are a great compromise of performance, cost and comfort and Horizon is a dealer based in the BVI that also is a charter management company, so it all just came together.

I took delivery of a 40 Open in November 2019 and we’ve had some great times on her in the BVI for the last couple of years, but the 44 really caught my eye and we decided to go for it.

After a false start, we were able to sell the 40 for a great price (the used market has been very strong since there is a lot of demand for boats) and are going to be taking delivery of the 44 in Oct/Nov 2022, fingers crossed.

Why did you choose the Nautitech 44 Open? Were you looking at other brands? As I mentioned, we loved the 40 and we expect the 44 will be bigger and better in several ways. I haven’t had the chance to sail her yet, but I spent a lot of time on board talking with the Horizon and Nautitech guys at the Miami boat show, followed by a great dinner. We do this stuff for fun so its important to me that I enjoy the people that we work with and the Horizon and Nautitech people are great.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

There are a few things that I think will be better with the 44, but the boats are pretty similar so nothing too drastic. The main difference is that the traveler is on the aft beam instead of the coach roof . This gets the boom even lower than on the 40 and improves visibility to the traveler.

The layout of the saloon is also improved mostly because of the extra space, but I’m excited to have a proper chart table as opposed to crawling over the day bed or table to get to it. The galley is much improved with a double sink and also the standing island. The saloon windows are also a bit more vertical with more of an overhang from the room which will help in the tropics.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Because of my relationship with Horizon and being really happy with the 40, I didn’t seriously consider any other brands, but I’m a boat nerd and pretty familiar with all of them.

How are you expecting the performance of this boat compared to the 40 Open? I expect it to be relatively faster because of the increased length and sail area, but not radically different from the 40. I haven’t seen polars so I can’t say for sure, but I did hear a rumor that that was a race between a 46 Open and a 44 Open and the 44 Open won, but it did have a larger square topped mainsail which apparently will be an option.

When will she launch? October of 2022. I would love to sail her over to the Caribbean, but that likely won’t be an option this time so will ship her over, hopefully to Gaudaloupe so we can have a nice “get to know each other” moment sailing to the BVI.

Which configuration did you go for and why? 2 Cabins, 3 Cabins Owner, 3 Cabins, 4 Cabins etc. Did you go for the Smart Room? I’ve decided to go for the 3 Cabins owner. The smart room doesn’t make any sense for charter. I would love to see an option for a more flexible space that could be used as a office but with fold down bunks that would be good for kids or non couples.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Can you give us an idea of the options you prioritised on the gear? Eg how many electric winches, engine upgrade?, throttles on both helms, any Sports version options, windlass remote, bowsprit, folding props etc There are two priorities here. What is needed for charter and the stuff that I want. For charter we need air conditioning and therefore a generator. I’m torn personally since we never use the AC other than at the dock, but in the tropics its important to be able to cool the boat down and dehumidify.

I’d love to be able to avoid having the generator and have the option to run the AC from the batteries but the load requirements are high in the tropics and the technology still relatively new. It needs to work for charter guests so we’re sticking with the tried and tested options.

For me it’s more about the sails. A bowsprit and downwind sails are an absolute must. I also hate running the engines to charge the batteries, so this time I am prioritizing solar and lithium . I’m considering the sports package and in particular the upgrade to the running rigging .

The soft lifelines and the technora chafe protection on the standing rigging was really nice. The cleats and the wheels are less interesting to me, but they look pretty sharp.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

My 40 had the electronic throttles at both helms and it’s nice but very expensive and they have had some issues (on other boats, never had problems with mine) so I’ve decided to not go with that option.

The docking position on the Opens is fantastic but with controls only on starboard you will always want to be starboard side too, but the boats are so maneuverable that its easy to dock bow first or stern first and ensure you are starboard side to.

We will do regular fixed blade props for charter and I think the remote windlass is more trouble than its worth, its best to be at the windlass checking on whats going on. Most charters will pickup mooring balls in the BVI.

How about options for the living space? Upholstery, teak, frontdeck lounge, shade canapy, helm biminis, saloon blinds, table/convertible table, Plancha ENO gaz, berths in forepeaks For upholstery we will do leather because its much easier to clean, important with young kids! I will do the external shades for the saloon windows instead of the internal blinds.

The front deck lounge is great and I love the new built in lights, but I’m hoping to secure the cushions better while sailing than we could on the 40. I think there needs to be a solution where a strap comes over them after they have been folder up.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

I had Horizon make me a canopy for over the bows and will probably do the same thing for the 44 instead of going with the factory option. The 40 had the cockpit enclosure and we’ve never used it once, so not going with that.

I’m going to go with the regular table in the cockpit and the footstool instead of the table in the saloon. My 40 had both berths in the fore peaks but I’m going to just have one done on the 44 so I can put wet stuff like my kitesurfing gear in the other one.

What did you prioritise on the electrical equipment? Watermaker, cockpit fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, A/C, heating, electric heads (fresh/seawater) Still deciding on some of these items but leaning towards the following. Freezer and Fridge in the saloon, not in the cockpit. AC. Electric seawater heads.

How about the power system? Invertor, Service battery upgrade, Lithium upgrade? Solar, genset, lighting options, Nav Pack, radar Solar on the roof and on the Davits and the lithium upgrade . We need the genset for the AC. Lighting is tough because the options are expensive, but I think we will go with the courtesy lights and the under bridge deck lights.

I have the spreader lights on the 40 and they work great but I think you can get away with just the deck light.

For the nav pack, I think 2 MFDs (Multifunction Displays) on board is plenty and I actually prefer to use my iPad. I think the display is much better as long as you can keep it out of the elements, which of course you can on boats like these.

Radar would be nice but would rarely be used with the majority of sailing we do. For long passages I would want it for sure.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

What sail options did you go for? Hydranet, Overlapping genoa, gennaker, Code 0, Assym Spinnaker etc Regular Dacron main and Solent. The self tacker is great for the BVI where the winds are generally blowing quite well. It’s obviously good for charters as well. I had an asym on a top down furler on the 40 which I love and will go with the same sail, but this time probably in the standard sock instead of the furler.

I actually always thought you and I had the same sail but I noticed recently that yours is not loose luffed which I believe makes it the gennaker. I can still get up to 50-60 degrees apparent with the spinnaker so I think its a good choice. On a reach the boat goes like a rocket, regularly hitting low teens in less than 20kts of true wind.

I will also add the code zero gear and maybe the sail, or maybe add the sail later, but I want the gear added in the factory.

Are there any options you think are better to source yourself after the purchase? eg anchor, chain, dinghy, lithium upgrade, solar etc. What kind of anchor/chain set up will you go for? The tender, galley equipment, bedding etc we will source ourselves in the BVI, but generally speaking I believe in having stuff done in the factory. It’s just better to do it when building the boat than afterwards. The code zero gear is a good example, you can do it afterwards but its best to do it during construction.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

How was your experience with Nautitech and your dealer? Horizon is my dealer and my charter management company and we have a great relationship. It’s very important to me that I like and trust the people that I have my boat with. It’s an incredibly expensive asset a long way from home in a very challenging part of the world.

Horizon is big enough and well established enough that I trust them, but also small enough where I know all the people that take care of the boat. Thats super important to me and I couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. I’m at the boat for 1 to 2 weeks every 3 months or so.

Anything else you would add to help people thinking of buying a Nautitech 44 Open? Nothing much comes to mind other than get in line quick, the demand is high and prices will keep going up.

Can you give people who are looking at a Nautitech 44 a rough price range for a sensibly optioned boat? From day cruiser to longer trips say It really all depends. AC and a genset is going to add around $50k. Delivery is going to cost a significant amount if you aren’t picking up in France. Also prices are going up quickly, I understand more than 10% since I locked in.

I can tell you that I’m looking at between $750k and $900k for a fully equipped for charter boat delivered in the BVI and ready to go, with $750k being the bare minimum spec for charter and $900k having a full sail locker and must of the options, but again its would be more than that now.

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Are there any key areas you are keeping a close eye on in terms of quality checks? Not really, I’m pretty happy with the quality of my 40 and every other Nautitech I’ve seen. I know you have mentioned the gray cabin top issues before but Nautitech have decided to stick with white for the 44.

By the way, If I had kept my 40 I probably would buff it regularly instead of trying the vinyl cover, but I will be interested to see how that turns out for others that have the issue. The davits are another issue of concern and I think you really need to keep an eye on the weight ratings and stay well under it with the static loads, because the dynamic loads will be higher. The 44 has newly designed davits so I will be keeping an eye on them.

Brand: Nautitech 442

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

The Nautitech 441 and its sister ship, the 442, share many of the same characteristics, including infusion-molded hulls and decks, the latter incorporating a PVC foam core; a wide choice of optional equipment packages; a couple of different interior layouts, one with four staterooms and the other an “owners version” with three cabins, the largest of which is a suite that encompasses the entire starboard hull; a pair of small keels for stability and tracking; and even a very nifty water-catchment system incorporated in the boat’s rigid hardtop.

The difference in the two boats is in the steering arrangements: The 442 has twin helms, set all the way aft and outboard, to port and starboard, respectively, while the 441 has one wheel mounted in a dedicated steering station at deck level to port of the roomy central cockpit.

Count on 6.5 knots for a voyage, with a best day’s run of 208 nautical miles while recording a top speed of 17 knots—all very respectable numbers for a 44-foot cruising boat.

Nautitech 44 Open (2024) 'SempreVerde'

Nautitech 44 open

The Nautitech 44 Open is the latest design in the Nautitech lineup to get really excited about!

This new design builds on the successful Nautitech ‘Open’ concept and so delivers a ‘wide grin’ sailing performance. The 44 Open is probably the fastest cruising catamaran available for a bareboat charter. She can point higher than any other cruising cat (that does not have daggerboards -which consume interior space), thanks to her high aspect sail plan, tight sheeting angles, high aspect rudders, a draft of 4ft 9“and an excellent sail area to displacement ratio. The Open 44 remains stable, comfortable, and downright fun to sail on and off the wind.

Optimized cruising speeds are a result of the low wetted surface area enabled by narrow, hydrodynamic hulls below the waterline. While the hard-chined stepped hulls above the waterline give more interior living space.

You have an unobstructed view of the sails and the sea thanks to the double aft helm station positions; you can communicate and enjoy the sailing with all the crew members in the cockpit.

In a change from the design of the Open 40, the lower mainsheet track positioning is easy to adjust and see for perfect sail trim from the helm station. A low boom above the coach roof allows for extra efficiency from the mainsail, more sail area and easy access to the sail bag. The high aspect furling, and self-tacking jib, with all control lines led aft to electric winches for both sails, means the 44 Open is a breeze to sail short-handed.

There is rich joinery in the interior of the 44 Open which gives a warm and modern ambience aboard. The cockpit flows seamlessly into the saloon (the ethos of the Open concept) giving you the ideal indoor/outdoor living space for a yacht in the tropics. The galley conjoins the saloon and cockpit, so matter where the crew are, the chef is part of the socialising. The interior saloon area is cosy and offers a modular seating arrangement with cushioned cubes that can be moved around into a day bed, a footrest, or stools.

With the almost 360-degree view from the entrance of the saloon, you can happily escape (rare!) inclement weather or socialize at the cockpit table whilst still keeping an eye on your surroundings.

Thanks to a double-drawer fridge, cockpit fridge and freezer unit, there is excellent fridge capacity aboard.

Both hulls feature 2 cabins. The aft cabin has a queen-sized island bed and the forward cabin has a forward-facing double bed.

The seamlessly integrated companionway benefits from extra storage lockers. Both hulls have separate shower units and toilets allowing for easy living between guests. The toilet unit also has its own hand basin.

There is an integrated solar array on the coach roof as well as solar panels mounted on the dinghy davits. This removes the requirement to run your engine or generator to charge the lithium batteries on board on sunny days.

Some defining features that set SempreVerde apart are:

  • Starlink High-Speed Internet which is included for all charters in 2024
  • Nespresso Original Line Machine (remember to bring your own Nespresso pods as these can be hard to source in the BVI)
  • Three B&G Chartplotters (one at each helm station and one at the nav desk)
  • Multiple 110V outlets
  • Large lithium battery bank and large solar array (essentially eliminating the need to charge batteries using engines or generator)
  • Fresh-water hot/cold deck shower
  • Fresh-water deck hose
  • Exterior window coverings to keep the interior cool
  • Two fully finished forepeak cabins with USB outlets and lighting
  • Mast camera to make mooring ball retrieval easier
  • Two VHF radios (one handheld)
  • Separate throttle controls at each helm station to make docking and close-quarters maneuvering a breeze

Andrea J Smith , May 2023, BVI Dear Horizon, Courtney, Sandra,  Henry, and Jalon, We can’t thank you enough for all you have done over the years to make this dream trip possible for us. Stan and I have been sailing the BVI since our honeymoon in 1986 and sailing with Horizon since 2000. Through the years we have sailed with our own children and this year also sailed with 3 generations to include our 3 and 4 year old granddaughters for a perfect week. We can always count on everyone at Horizon to take great care of us and we are so very grateful for this week where our lives came full circle and we were able to share this beautiful place with the 3rd generation of our family.

Find Your Rate Check out our special offers

Did you know Horizon’s charters start and finish at noon? This means we can get you out sailing your first afternoon after your briefings – remember to watch your video briefings to speed up your check out! At the end of your trip, you sail back to Nanny Cay to refuel and debrief before your noon departure. This gives you a full 6 nights/7 days chartering around our beautiful islands, unlike some companies that start at 5pm, meaning you will have to sleepaboard* at the docks, and then finish at 10am, again meaning you will probably have to stay overnight on the docks the night before you leave to fly home.

*If available, a sleep aboard can be added the night before your charter start for a small supplement, boarding your yacht after 5pm.

Our standard charter rates are applicable for charters of 5 days or more up to a maximum of five weeks. For a tailored quote for charter durations outside this range please contact our reservations team who will be pleased to assits.

Current Rates

Weekly rates (full 7 days / 6 nights) are listed above as daily rates. Charters start and finish at noon. Our minimum charter duration requirement is 5 nights.

BVI Charter Rates are subject to change without notice.

Horizon Yacht Charters BVI Charter Rates are listed above. Yacht photographs and specifications act as a guide and are for information purposes only.  Although we endeavour to ensure that images are accurate reflections of the yachts in our fleet, certain aspects may vary slightly, such as yacht deck, the colour of the hull, dodger or bimini.

All yachts come with rigid inflatables & outboards, biminis, BBQ, Stereo, GPS, linens, towels, safety & galley equipment etc. See  What’s Included  for a full list.

C = Cabins, H = Heads, AC = Air Conditioning, S = Skipper first day only

*Additional $700 supplement per week applies from Dec 18 – Jan 4

May we advise that HDW insurance, Cruising Permits and National Parks Permit are payable before departure from the dock in cash or travellers’ cheques, as using a Credit Card will incur a 5% surcharge. Upon return of the vessel, you are required to top off the water and fuel tanks, which you receive full upon boarding the vessel.

BVI Charter Rates shown above are for 6 nights per vessel (min 5 nights except for Christmas and New Year min 7 nights + supplements on selected yachts) with the additional daily rate should you wish to add nights. Super Tender your Vacation with Horizon Yacht Charters!

catamaran nautitech 44 occasion

Licensed for 6 persons, this 15ft RIB with 60HP Yamaha outboard will get you and your crew to snorkelling spots and the beach in style and comfort.

Make your charter yacht vacation a breeze – enjoy the comfort of being able to tie up your yacht for the night and then continue exploring the surrounding bays! You can pick up your mooring ball at the Bight and then head to the Indians or the Caves for a snorkel. If you visit the Dogs, there’s no need to choose only one snorkel spot for your lunch stop, zip around them all!  A swim ladder makes boarding easy from the water.

For popular spots where it’s trickier to find a mooring, the RIB is the perfect alternative. Settle into Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke for the night and then take the RIB to White Bay for the afternoon to enjoy painkillers without the hassle of finding a mooring ball or having to move your yacht for the night.

The North Sound boasts a selection of some of the best dining options in the BVI. There’s no need to settle for only one spot when you have the RIB. Pick up provisions from Leverick Bay, enjoy the plunge pool at Nova in Deep Bay, and then zip back to the sound for sundowners at Saba Rock before enjoying dinner at The Bitter End.

If you have a mix of snorkelers, beachgoers, shoppers and sailors onboard then give your group flexibility by taking the standard dinghy included in your charter as well. This will also remove the need to make multiple dinghy trips ashore for larger groups.

Get more out of your sailing vacation with Horizon- ‘Super Tender’ it!
