Visit the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum where you can take in some history about the writer and meet a legendary six toed cat. Schooner Hindu, one of the oldest, most historic wooden schooners in the Florida Keys, has been sailing out of P-Town since 1946. Built in 1925, Hindu is undergoing a top to bottom historic restoration just in time for her 100 th anniversary. About Your Crew

Captain Tom and his wife Denise have been sailing for over two decades.   Over the course of the last three years they have sailed over 4,000 nm along the east coast of US and the Caribbean Sea.  Tom holds a USCG OUPV Captain's License.  Prior to their most recent adventure, Tom was a Research Physicist and his wife a Public Relations Manager.  Bow and Harry our French Hounds server at the pleasure of our guest or vacation at a nearby pet resort during charters.

Captain your own Key West adventure. We have the largest fleet of rental boats in Key West. Select the boat that best fits your needs. We have everything from pontoons and deck boats with space to lounge to center console fishing boats, all available from our marina in Key West. Our rental boats range in size and space, based on your rental needs. You can rent a small, personal 2 person boat up to a 12 person pontoon. Our boats are perfect for trips to the sandbar, fishing, snorkeling & more.

Now Available: Reserve a floating lil pad mat, snorkel gear, fishing poles and more from our onsite marina store.

Pet Friendly: Dogs are welcome our your boat rentals. 2 Max

Boats are available for rent for half day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours) rentals. Half-day boat rentals must be scheduled at 9 am and returned by 1, or 1 pm and returned by 5 pm. Please note, renters must be 25+ to drive.

Do you want to rent a boat but not familiar with the Key West waterways? No problem, add one of our experienced, local captains for an additional cost (please call our office to reserve at least 3 days in advance. Full-day captain cost is $350 and half-day cost is $250).

The boat rental folks at Sunset Watersports were extremely helpful and fun! The crew had winning personalities that made the trip extremely enjoyable and the staff at our boat rental day went out of their way to be helpful during shuttle service and getting us set up with fun GPS coordinates for our pontoon boat rental day. Absolutely incredible boat rental. The crew were fantastic. Christie and Bridget did a wonderful job at Cow Key Marina. If you want a great boat rental in the Key West area, this is the place to go! We rented a pontoon boat and they directed us to a beautiful sandbar for the best day ever!!

We did a full day rental if the 22 foot center console fishing boat. Service was great before and after rental. I selected the incorrect boat when booking online and called in to change the order. They were very accommodating. Staff was very helpful with pointing out spots to check out and when going over the boat. Built in cooler and swim ladder. Overall a great experience!

Sunset Watersports boat rental crew made it easy to rent. The shop had fishing pole rentals, snorkeling rentals and bait. Helped us download the navionics app on our smartphones and prepared us for what the waterways were like. Great guys!

My wife and I were in Key West to celebrate her birthday. The staff were very helpful. They advised us the 21' center console fishing boat would be a better option due to the weather conditions which was a good choice, as it had been renovated recently and had better equipment. Located east of the mangrove isles of Mud Keys, its easily one of the favorite local sandbar hangouts. This sandbar gets even more popular on weekends, where you can find tons of locals from the middle to lower Florida Keys. Snipes Point water is crystal clear and shallow.

Jewfish Basin Sandbar Boat Rentals:

Located just 7 miles north of Key West you will find a series of beautiful sandbars tucked away in between the Harbor Keys & Mud Keys. These sandbars are perfect inlets for boat rentals & very close to our marina dock at Cow Key Marina.

Mud Keys Sandbar Boat Rentals:

The only reason this location is number 3 on the list is due to the difficulty navigating. The Mud Keys are a series of mangrove islands and shallow water way passages. This location is much less popular, not because of it’s beauty but due to it’s true seclusion. We highly recommend asking our company for a guide to help navigate these tough passages.

Boca Grande Sandbar Boat Rentals:

Boca Grande is another amazing sandbar located in just off of Key West. Boca Grande is about 15 miles west of Key West and is a 180 acre uninhabited island located in the Mule Keys. This sandbar is great for exploring & socializing among other visitors. This sandbar is outside of the range of our standard boat rental but you can hire a guide with one of our boat rentals to explore this incredible island.

Boca Chica Sandbar Boat Rentals:

The closest and most accessible of Key West’s sandbars is located just off the island of Boca Chica. This sandbar is about a mile from the marina and is frequented by jetski tours, boat rentals and charters alike. If it’s the coral reef you’re craving, then head to Sand Key, seven miles south of Key West. This popular snorkel spot is home to a historic lighthouse and its shallow reef formations are ideal for novice and experienced snorkelers alike. Your boat captain will tie up to one of the white-and-blue mooring buoys and you’ll be ready to swim among the rainbows of colorful reef fish. This area is specially protected, so please take only photos and leave only bubbles!

Western Dry Rocks (24° 26.692N, 81° 55.581’W)

Southwest of Key West along the reef tract is Western Dry Rocks. Like Sand Key, it has large rows of shallow coral reef alternating with sand channels, making it a great snorkel spot for scoping colorful fish, the occasional angelfish or even a blue tang!

We do not provide professional photography. Our crew may take boarding photos and can take photos throughout the trip for an additional fee.

No, we do not offer any wifi on our vessels.

All charters include beer, wine, champagne, sodas and water. We do have a catering options and bar upgrades available for an additional fee. We do not allow outside catering or drinks on our charters.

Yes. All guests are provided with Buoyancy Compensators for snorkeling. Life jackets are onboard for everyone in case of emergency.

No, we do not provide parking at any of our check in locations, but you can use street parking, pay to park lots or parking garages.

Fury tours will not depart in unsafe weather conditions. The Captain will assess the weather and should the Captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. Every effort will be made to reschedule your tour during your stay. If you are unable to re-schedule your tour, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip. Every effort will be made to run tours, as advertised. Should Fury have to amend or alter your tour due to extraneous circumstances, tickets remain non-refundable on tours taken.

We have a 20% non refundable deposit. Within 30-15 days of your charter, we are able to refund 50% of the trip, and within 15 days of your charter we do not offer a refund. We do offer a full refund if we cancel the charter due to weather conditions.

Fury allows service animals only. A service animal is any dog that has been trained to perform tasks to benefit an individual. The work performed must be directly related to the individuals disability. According the ADA service animals for emotional support, therapy, comfort or companionship are not considered service animals.

The guest requiring the service animal must be in possession of the animal at all times. ​Due to the nature of Fury tours, guest and service animal may be required to remain on the boat for the entirety of the tour . This is to ensure the guest’s safety as well as that of the service animal, Key West wildlife, other guests, captain and crew.

Bareboat Charter

A bareboat charter means the charterer, as Captain, is solely responsible for the safe operation of the vessel, including all aspects of navigation, anchoring, docking, and controlling the vessel under sail or power. Key West is considered an advanced sailing destination and for the safety of other passengers and the vessel, it is vital the charterer have sufficient experience aboard vessels of a similar size & type as what you are seeking to hire. We also require there be one other person aboard to act as first mate, with enough boating experience to handle the vessel in the event the Captain is injured or goes overboard.

All of our bareboat charters have a 5 day/4 night minimum which is the ideal amount of time to experience one of our Florida Keys sailing itineraries .

Am I qualified?

The Florida Keys is considered an advanced sailing destination, offering great natural beauty in sometimes rare peaceful isolation. There are almost exclusively anchorages in our cruising grounds subject to tidal changes and currents, including open anchorages in the Westerly Island groups.

Our bareboat charter application will help us evaluate your sailing experience to establish your skill level, and that of your first mate, as suitable to these conditions. This application should be filled out in full, providing as much information as possible to validate your skills and experience. Please submit the requested documents together in order to complete the application process. No booking should be considered confirmed until this application has been approved by the reviewing Charter Base Manager. You may be contacted directly to answer any questions they may have.

Bareboat Charter General Qualifications & Requirements

•30 days or 400 miles in the last three years as named Captain on an equivalent size & type of yacht(s).

•ASA, US Sail, RYA or ICC certification to an equivalent Bareboat Charter level for Monohull & Multi Hull for Catamaran.

•Physically capable of handling the vessel in all situations & conditions (i.e. Managing sails, lines & anchor).

•Must have a qualified First Mate who completes a Crew Resume for approval.

•Must present a valid US driver’s license, or International Passport to verify identity and DOB.

•We reserve the right to approve your application on the condition of having a Check-Out Captain aboard for the first day (or more) at your expense, which would be agreed to in advance as a condition of approval.

•For applicants under the age of 30 or over 74 additional crew requirements may apply.

Don’t be discouraged if your experience isn’t quite strong enough yet. We offer several ways to assist charterers to meet the requirements. As well as being able to offer an ASA instructor accompany you on your bareboat charter so you can achieve your ASA Sailing Certifications , we can also arrange a one or two day refresher for an experienced mariner that might need to get familiar with some of the more advanced systems on newer boats, or just brush up on skills if it’s been awhile. These programs are very flexible and can be personalized to each charter guest.

For Power Vessels

During the charter check-in process, which takes approximately 2½ hours, you will receive a very comprehensive yacht systems orientation, inventory review, safety briefing, and a chart briefing of the cruising area to ensure you are comfortable with your float plan and the vessel. It is required that the Captain & First Mate arrive at the same time and attend the vessel check -in.

Optional Orientation cruise If you are chartering a manufacturer of boat for the first time and would like to do a short orientation sail to familiarize yourself with all the systems and equipment while under way, we highly recommend an orientation sail with a Captain familiar with your sailing vessel. It takes about an hour and they charge $150.00. This is an excellent way to do a shake down sail to make sure you can enjoy your vessel with confidence. This must be booked in advance to ensure there is a Captain available. This is not intended to teach boat handling skills.
