•  2006 - Shadow 26 - Aft Cockpit - Diesel Shaft Drive - Original Gelcoat - River Cruiser Built in 2006 LOA (Metres/Feet): 08.03m / 26'04 Draft (Metres/Feet): 00.66m / 02'02 Beam (Metres/Feet): 03.00m / 09'10 Air Draft (Metres/Feet): 01.98m / 06'06 The Shadow 26 is a great aft cockpit cruiser giving a large cockpit area while boasting a spacious interior despite being a 26ft vessel. She is easy to manage with the shaft drive Beta Marine Diesel engine and bow thruster to assist with mooring. Inside the cabin the 4 berth accommodation is made up from a large double berth in the bow which can be converted into a spacious comfortable sofa for daytime use, curtains are available to provide some privacy to the forward berth. Midships has a large dinette opposite the galley which also converts into a large double berth for overnight use. All the double bed infills are stored underneath the settee however there is ample other storage for belonging and clothes throughout the boat including a hanging locker in front of the forward berth. The Galley consists of an isotherm low energy fridge, a stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water, a stainless steel 2 burner gas hob, a stainless steel gas cooker and plenty of storage. The sink and hobs both have glass lids to provide additional worktop preparation space while not in use. The Heads consist of an electric pump out toilet, a sink with pressurised hot and cold water and a shower with pressurised hot and cold water. Externally the boat is original gelcoat with canopy and upholstery in good condition. The windscreen, canopy and frame fold to allow access under most of the Broads Bridges (6’06 airdraft). Access is available via the rear boarding platform with a door to enter via the rear this provides both easy access for those less mobile and safety for those with pets or children. A boarding ladder is on the rear platform should anyone need to climb out of the water. Side access is provided via the deck with an in-hull step for areas with low quayheading and an internal step to enable easier access when stepping down to the cockpit. Mechanically the boat is powered by a shaft drive Beta Marine Diesel engine with a bow thruster to aid mooring, she has an electric windlass on the bow, navigation light for dusk/night time use, shorepower, battery charger, invertor, diesel warm air blown heating, wipers, speedo, depth sounder, compass, cd Radio, 12v lights. Dashboard gauges provide key engine information such as oil pressure, engine temperature, rpm, battery voltage, fuel level and engine hours. ABOUT RIVER BOATS

River boats cover a broad spectrum of vessels, from small fishing skiffs to large houseboats . When searching for used river boats for sale, consider the best size and style for the river conditions. Narrow search results by brand, location, or price point to find the best-suited used river boat.

Main Characteristics of River Boats

River boats come in all shapes and sizes, from the smallest skiffs to large river barges. While the size and flow of the river will impact what kind of boats are most suited to traversing them, what many river boats have in common is their flat or shallow V-hulls. This allows them to navigate shallow river waters with ease. But that doesn't mean that ocean-going boats can't also navigate rivers, and you'll often see sailboats and sport boats on rivers, too.

Whether the boat is being used as a fishing boat, for long-term living aboard, or as a day cruiser will determine what characteristics make it ideal for the role. A houseboat for example, will have ample living space and home comforts, while fishing boats need to be small, lightweight and capable of navigating shallow or marshy areas.

Types of River Boats

River houseboats offer a home on the water and are very specific styles of vessel. They focus on living space and comfort over cruising (they can be either cruising or non-cruising/static styles) and offer couples or families the chance to live self-sufficiently by using features such as solar panels and LPG. They'll usually incorporate several cabins, a full-sized galley, saloon, head, and plenty of deck space. They come in all shapes, sizes, and price points so the market is hugely varied.

The trusty Jon boat offers excellent river daytripping thanks to its flat bottom and tough hull made from aluminum or fiberglass. Suitable for even shallow rivers and waterways, Jon boats can be well-equipped for fishing expeditions. And thanks to their compact and lightweight properties, they can be launched and trailered easily from river slips.

Unlike the Jon boat, a bass boat has a modified V-hull that allows it to cut through rougher waters on larger rivers and river mouths/bays. Bass boats are purpose-built for bass fishing (and often duck hunting), and designed to navigate the shallows and reed-laden shores of rivers and inland waters.

Skiffs , too, land in the category of river boats thanks to their small size, flat bottoms, and ability to navigate tight spots and shallow areas. These are best suited to smaller rivers and waterways, and are typically able to carry a couple of passengers for a day of fishing or sightseeing.

Canal Boats/Barges

In Europe, traditional canal boats , narrowboats , and barges ply the rivers. These long, slim boats are designed with hulls that run efficiently at displacement speeds and don't create a large wake that erodes riverbanks. They have cabins, heads, saloons, and galleys, and the outdoor space is usually on the roof.

How to get tickets for Justin Timberlake’s 2024 UK, including price and presale

The ‘SexyBack’ singer’s ‘The Forget Tomorrow’ tour is heading to London, Birmingham and Manchester this summer

Heads up, JT fans — all those karaoke nights belting out ‘Señorita’ might finally come to good use. Ahead of the release of his new album (‘Everything I Thought It Was’, set for release on March 15), pop veteran Justin Timberlake has finally announced the UK and Europe leg of his ‘The Forget Tomorrow’ tour. 

With three UK shows lined up, you can expect all of the classic bangers from his 30 year repertoire alongside some brand-new material. Here’s everything you need to know for getting tickets to see him live and in the flesh. 

When is Justin Timberlake going on his UK and Europe tour in 2024?

The so-called ‘Prince of Pop’ will be coming UK shores in August 2024.

What UK dates have been announced? 

He’s confirmed three UK dates so far. Here’s where and when. 

August 7: Birmingham , Utilita Arena

August 8:  Manchester , Co-op Live 

August 11: London , The O2 

When do tickets go on sale?

General sale goes live on Friday, March 1 at 10am . You can get your hands on them over on Timberlake’s  official website . 

Is there a presale?

You betcha. In fact, there’s a few ways you can get early access.  Live Nation is hosting a presale from 10am on Thursday, February 29, O2 customers can access an exclusive early sale via the O2 Priority website and fans who have preordered the star’s upcoming album ‘Everything I Thought It Was’ will also receive an email to get tickets before anyone else.  

How much will tickets cost?

At the moment, the only confirmed ticket prices are for JT’s show in Birmingham. They’re priced at £59.30, excluding booking fees. 

What’s been said about the tour so far?

Not much, though a press release did reveal that the star will ‘perform fan-favourite hits along with songs from his forthcoming new album’. The North American leg of the tour starts in late April so we might know more of what to expect around then.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: UK to send £245m of artillery support to Ukraine; Sunak and Starmer pledge support 'for as long as it takes'

Ukraine has claimed to have destroyed a Russian surveillance plane. Meanwhile, the £2.5bn generated from the sale of Chelsea by Roman Abramovich remains frozen by the UK government after almost two years, rather than any being released to help Ukraine.

Britain has pledged to spend £245m over the next year on artillery ammunition for Ukraine.

The announcement comes exactly two years since Vladimir Putin's forces launched their full-scale invasion.

Kyiv is facing acute munitions shortages and has been asking allies for greater assistance as it fights Russia.

Artillery has proved vital to Ukraine's successes, degrading Russia’s forces and preventing them making significant breakthroughs.

On top of the artillery funding and missiles package, a new multi-million pound series of contracts has been signed between the MoD’s procurement arm, Defence Equipment & Support and UK-based Cook Defence Systems to provide hundreds of spare caterpillar tracks for tanks and armoured vehicles.

This will enable Ukraine's forces to recover and restore vehicles damaged by anti-tank weapons and landmines.

"They cannot win this fight without the support of the international community – and that’s why we continue to do what it takes to ensure Ukraine can continue to fight towards victory," Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement.

The prime minister and the leader of the opposition have vowed to stand with Ukraine "until they prevail" in statements to mark the second anniversary of Russia's invasion [24 February].

Rishi Sunak said "tyranny will never triumph" as Ukrainian troops defend the country against an emboldened Russia across a 1,500km (932-mile) frontline.

Mr Sunak said the UK is "going further in our support" and is prepared to do "whatever it takes, for as long as it takes".

"When Putin launched his illegal invasion two years ago, the free world was united in its response. We stood together behind Ukraine. And on this grim anniversary we must renew our determination," he said. 

Labour's Sir Keir Starmer said Britain would always support Ukraine "no matter who is in power in this country" and that Mr Putin's "cowardice and barbarity" will not prevail.

"The resistance of the Ukrainian people has inspired and humbled the world. The UK and our allies will stand in solidarity with them until their day of victory," Sir Keir said. 

"We will not waver. We will not abandon them. We will not be divided in the face of tyranny or oppression."

The US treasury has imposed sanctions on Russia's leading oil tanker group in a bid to reduce Moscow's oil sales revenues. 

Sovcomflot was sanctioned for being owned or controlled by, or having acted or purposed to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, the Russian government - according to the treasury. 

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Asset Control also designated 14 vessels for carrying oil above the West's price cap on Russian oil, it said.

This marks one of more than 500 wide-ranging sanctions imposed by ashington on business and individuals linked with the Russian state.

Our US correspondent Mark Stone is at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and has been listening to Lord David Cameron's speeches to the General Assembly and the Security Council.

He described the foreign secretary's addresses as "strong" and "blunt", adding that "you get the sense that that he has more confidence than than other British foreign secretaries of late". 

His passionate speeches were not meant purely to put Russia on the back foot, however, Stone explained, as the real message was meant for America. 

"The real problem right now is America's funding of Ukraine," he said. 

"They are not doing that at the moment because of a particular wing of the Republican Party supported by Donald Trump, who do not believe that this is a war is worth fighting," referring to the US aid bill currently stuck in Congress. 

The bill, worth some $95bn (£75bn), was approved by the Democrat-led Senate on 13 February, but is likely to face stiff opposition in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

Both houses of Congress must approve the bill before President Biden can sign it into law. 

Some $60bn (£47bn) of the package is allocated for military aid for Ukraine alone. 

However, former president Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress want funding directed toward domestic issues such as border control, rather than on foreign wars. 

"In simple terms, they believe that security begins at home, that it is a far away war and that the focus should be America's domestic concerns," Stone said. 

"So the clear message [from Cameron] was to politicians down in Congress to pass this bill, to get money to allow Ukraine to continue to fight this war."

In the last few moments, Lord David Cameron has addressed the United Nations' Security Council. 

He delivered a speech firmly condemning Russia's continuing war in Ukraine - imploring Russia's UN representative to explain why Moscow is still carrying on in its blood-soaked campaign. 

Vasily Nebenzia was seen looking at his phone and his notes throughout the speech.

"The only people behaving like Nazis are the Putin regime - invading another country and hoping the world will be weak and let you get away with it," Lord Cameron said. 

He said Russia's modern military was failing - evidenced by Moscow's reported reliance on North Korean and Iranian weapons. 

Facing Mr Nebenzia himself, Lord Cameron said Putin "sent a generation of Russian boys into the meat grinder". 

"What do you tell their mothers? They died for what? Or don't you even bother?"

"Nothing should matter more to us than seeing fail, we must not falter, we must stand firm," he concluded. 

As we reported earlier, Lord David Cameron has warned the UN about the consequences of withdrawing support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.

The foreign secretary was speaking to the United Nations General Assembly in New York on the eve of the second anniversary of the invasion.

Alexei Navalny's team are offering €50,000 for "valuable and complete information about the murder of Alexei Navalny".

The team have also offered to organise travel from whatever country those with information are in, if required - suggesting they will pay for those in Russia to escape. 

They had previously offered a smaller reward, but "the amount increased because several people wrote to us and offered to add their money to the reward".

Two years on from Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the war is largely at a stalemate but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's troops face acute shortages of ammunition.

Ukraine's cities still come under regular Russian bombardment, thousands of lives have been lost and many more displaced across Europe.Around 300,000 Ukrainians have applied for visas to come to the UK alone. Many more are in Poland and Germany.

The £2.5bn generated from the sale of Premier League club Chelsea by Roman Abramovich remains frozen by the UK government after almost two years, rather than any being released to help Ukraine.

The west London club was put up for sale within days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia before Abramovich was placed under sanctions in March 2022 over connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Blues were eventually sold to American sports tycoon Todd Boehly and investment firm Clearlake Capital in May 2022.

Mike Penrose, who has spent nearly three decades working for humanitarian causes, was tasked with forming a foundation to help causes in Ukraine. 

He could not be reached for comment and the government was unable to say today why the foundation does not exist yet.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office told Sky News: "The proceeds from the sale of Chelsea FC are frozen in a UK bank account while independent experts establish a foundation to manage and distribute the money. 

"A licence will then be needed to move the funds to the foundation. 

"We want this money to reach Ukraine as quickly as possible and remain open to any arrangement that clearly delivers this."

Abramovich last had a known UK representative working for him in 2022.

But The Guardian reported last year that Abramovich's representatives want the money going to humanitarian help for "all victims of the conflict in Ukraine". 

And Europe minister Leo Docherty said in December that there was a "disagreement" with the oligarch over whether the funds are only used inside Ukraine.

The House of Lords European affairs committee last month urged the government "to use available legal levers to solve this impasse rapidly" to ensure the Chelsea funds can be spent within Ukraine.

A committee report said: "We find it incomprehensible that the promise made by sanctioned Russian businessman Roman Abramovich to use the proceeds from the sale of Chelsea FC to support Ukraine remains unfulfilled, and that the assets remain frozen.

"This impasse reflects badly on both Mr Abramovich and the Government, which ought to have pushed for a more binding commitment."

Ukraine claims to have destroyed a Russian surveillance plane. 

Ukraine's air force commander, Mykola Oleshchuk, said:  "The A-50 with the call sign 'Bayan' has flown its last!"

Interfax Ukraine news agency quoted military sources as saying the A-50 was downed over Russian territory, between the cities of Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar. 

Russian news agencies quoted emergency services in southern Krasnodar region as saying that fragments of an aircraft were found in marshland in Kanevskoy district and firefighters extinguished a blaze. 

The Beriev A-50 is a Soviet airborne early warning and control aircraft used by Moscow for reconnaissance missions. 

Earlier this month, British military intelligence noted a mid-air explosion of another Russian A-50U, which Ukraine also claims to have shot down.

That was thought to be the first downing of such an aircraft this century, with today's representing the second if verified.
